The space is shared with a salon but that isn't problematic as she has her own private area and once the door closes, there is no noise from the salon. You might hear footsteps from the apt above but that wasn't an issue for me since I've never gone for massages, only facials and waxing. Here's what works really well: the prices area great. Even if you went in on a Groupon, which I did...I had purchased a package of 3 Brazilians, even after that expires she will honor the same rate moving forward . She's great with Brazilian waxes and will make sure she get every single hair( painful as the process might be). She's a little heavy handed but thorough. She's also great with facials. I've done several different types and I was mostly always pleased with the outcome. The space is clean and proper sanitary conditions are maintained. Here's a couple things that I am suggesting: Ms. Elaine could benefit from having a proper voicemail set up for the business. You call her cellphone and sometimes the way she answers/ go about the appointments come off rather harsh. How customers are received is a huge part of a business and you can't afford to falter in that area. Next, not everyone speaks your dialect and while it's good to have because it makes you culturally relevant to some customers (myself included) I could see how others could be turned off. This is not judgement, it's critical feedback with good intentions to see your business do well and support your talent. P.S. customers are not allowed to park in the lot but there's plenty of parking of paid parking on the main and free parking on the side streets. In closing, I don't know a lot of black waxers /aestheticians who own and operate their own business so I support them when their business and craft is quality. Ms. Elaine has a good heart and she deserves to win so I will continue to support her as I encourage her to develop elements of her business.

I've been doing Brazilians for the past 10 years. This was literally the worst experience of them all. And not because of pain. Simply because this person has no idea what they were doing. There was wax left ALL over me. AND MANY MISSED SPOTS. When she was done, I asked if she can remove the excess wax. She then gave me a little pad with a droplet of oil to take it off MYSELF. To not irritate my skin, I said forget it and thought I can just do it myself at home. After driving a block away, I decided to go back because it's pretty ridiculous that I just made $80 for a wax that I could've done myself. The receptionist was SO rude and told me that I could either have the same person fix it an HOUR LATER or come back tomorrow. So I have to stay with wax on myself?! I have to go back to the same person that did a terrible job? Where's your customer service. All in all, Oceanside would NEVER handle this like this. I let them know I understood however, I paid $120 for lashes that should have lasted for two weeks! I asked her about a discounted refund, not even the full amount back because a service was done. I was told that there was no refund policy and she usually fixes them in 24 hours......so if your used to fixing eyelashes in 24 hours then you knew your work wasn't going to last for two weeks as advertised, it's just annoying and very unprofessional and unfair to the client, I now have to pay a better lash lady to do my lashes the correct way last minute a day before my vacation....I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK HERE. there's better lash places in Brooklyn!
