My friend and I went to Best Nails, and had to endure one of the worst experiences. We walked in, picked a color, and were treated nicely by the owner and workers at first, and were helped after about 20 minutes. We stayed for almost 3 hours. We both got the UV gel manicure with tips, which cost $60, and I wish I could have my money back. Four different workers were in charge of my manicure. I'd say the organization of the salon is unacceptable, but they have no organization to begin with. My friend asked for a manicure with a floral design, and after a 40 minute attempt -- with my friend trying to move on halfway before -- they couldn't draw it, and then treated us as if it was such an insane request. My manicure chipped after barely 24 hours of use, and my friends application were much too thick and rough for her hands. The manicure is already starting to lift. They should rethink every value and train every worker to be prepared for customer service. The way we were handled was absolutely unacceptable, especially after waiting 3 hours. If there was an option for negative stars, I'd use that instead. read more

This place is absolutely no thrills. I came in for a pedicure and when I asked for their upgrade options they said they had a spa pedicure which comes with callous remover and a 10 min massage for $50. Every other place around here offers at least that much (usually with hot stones as well) for $35. The pedicure was 17 min, a 1 min "massage" on each foot and she just did the necessary. The water in the foot bath was cold and the lotions she used were freezing! She kept trying to get me to buy the spa package and I kept saying no, since the job she was doing was subpar at best. She didn't thank me for my 20% tip and I found her rude. I also didn't like that they used a paper towel roll to prop my ankle up, as seen in the picture. I wouldn't return here. read more

Stopped in when I was in the long beach area and was killing time. They used a weird soak off method for the gel I had one at the time so it took forever in that respect. But once the old gel was off, they were quick and efficient putting on my new gel mani. Worst manicure I've ever gotten. What a disappointment. Top coat doesn't extend across the whole nail, and causing the polish to chip and come off in the same day. My nails were also filed into slanted and uneven nubs, and a finger with an injury kept being cut and filed after I repeatedly asked for it to be left alone and just painted. A woman named Jully did my nails, and was trying to speak to me about payment, but wouldn't lift her mask and was un-understandable. I have been here a few times. My most recent visit was awful. The pedicure bath was Luke warm. They have plexiglass partitions however sat a woman next to me. She was eating fries and a drink so her mask was under her chin. The spa claims they are following guidelines but this patron ate the entire time and never covered her face. I came in on Saturday to try their dip-powder tips that are 45$... they're super thin and on Thursday morning while picking up my backpack at school my pinky nail popped off, I had not even had the sent for a week and they're suppose to last for 2 FULL weeks but even so I've had regular acrylic tips that have lasted 4-5weeks without a filling. Best Nails has a Monday-Wednesday special of mani/pedi for under $20, which is a great deal, however if you want gel, it's going to cost more. Best Nails was very reasonable. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure for $40. The place is very clean and when the whirlpool in my foot bath stopped working, Terry (ask for her!) was concerned and tried to fix it. She also went in search of a color for my toes to match the gel on my fingers. It was clear that having a good experience was important to her. I went there based on the great reviews...... I had a terrible experience. The lady who took care of my nails was mean, everything seemed to be hard for her. For Example I picked a color and asked her if it was opaque she said it was. Once she was actually putting it on my nails it was clear so I asked if there was another color that was opaque and similar, she proceeded to yell at me: go pick your color. Before that I gave her my debit card to pay and she asked something and I couldn't understand she wasn't clear plus she was wearing the mask so I asked her if she could repeat herself or remove the mask so I could understand. She didn't and when I said I didn't understand once more she grabbed my card from my hands and just left and swiped. I left feeling like a piece of crap. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! read more

Not sure where all of these great reviews from, because my nails were chipped and peeling in a day! I'm new to LB and wanted to get my nails done before a vacation, so I came here for the first time on a Monday afternoon. There were a handful of people in the salon, but not too crowded. I opted for a mani-pedi and chose a classic summery Essie nail polish color. While the pedicure itself was fair (usually stuff- exfoliating, scrubbing, lotion, etc), I didn't feel super welcome (I had a bruise on my big toes from wearing heels and getting stepped on at a wedding and kept feeling like I was getting looks for it/talked about) and could tell the nail polish was probably watered down as it was so thin when applied that it needed 3 coats. The manicure was the same- service was okay, but the actual paint job/nail polish was thin and light. It chipped within a day, and the following day, I went on vacation, and almost every nail on my hand was either chipped, faded or peeling and I hadn't even gone to the beach yet. For $23 for a mani-pedi, I think they're overpriced and would not return. In the city, I pay between $22-30 and they do a better job, and at other salons in the area (LB, Oceanside, RVC) get longer lasting nails for under $20. I'm giving them 2 stars because the eyebrow wax was quick and looked good, and they wrap your feet/toes if you're wearing closed toe shoes when you are leaving. read more

I have been a client at Beach nails for 4 years. I went in for a pedicure, and was asked to wait a few minutes. Ok, no problem. 2 ladies walked in, no appointments, and were seated and got pedicures before me. I was furious. So I decided to try Best nails because the reviews were good. I am so happy I found them. I wanted a tip set put on for the holiday season, and Tommy did an amazing job on my gel tips. I was expecting the price to be high, but it was very reasonable.
