I'll start by saying everyone is VERY kind and the place is very clean. 3 stars because I'm a sucker for a great shoulder massage and will never say no lol. Negatives: Massage was while my powder soaked off Took almost 1 1/2 hours for my nails to be finished when it usually takes 45-60 mins tops AND I had to ask the girl at the end to please hurry because I simply didn't have this kind of time. I have a ton of cuts on my cuticles , almost every one, from her getting too close with the dremmel. My cuticles are still burning. 2 days out (manicure was on Wednesday) and already the top coat is peeling off about half my nails and my nails are separating from the powder. I have been coming here since they opened this location, but unfortunately I will be looking for a new nail salon. They have recently changed their pricing to charge an additional $5 for "long nails" (even if the nails really aren't that long.) This means that it's now $41 for a powder manicure *if you pay cash* and 10% more if you don't. I will say that the salon is very nice and they do a good job which is why I was going there in the first place, but $5 extra is just ridiculous. read more

Beautiful, new nail salon. Very relaxing and welcoming. Im only giving 3 stars because my mani pedi was just okay. The polish was not clean- paint on cuticles and chipped after a couple days because the polish was layered too thick. My Pedicure was too quick where it pretty much looked and felt the same as when I walked in. The massage was good. I got pretty good at doing my own nails during lockdown but I really wanted/needed a mini spa day while visiting family on Long Island. The woman at my pre-March 2020 nail salon left so I've been looking for a new place on LI. Crystal Nail moved location a little further south but I had heard good things so called ahead, made an appointment for a pedicure, and hoped that it was still the same great service from the previous location. I like that this location has lots of parking and there's shopping and food right in the area. Pro-tip - enter and exit on the Merrick Ave side and not the Merrick Road side if you can - the Merrick Road entrance gets a crazy long wait. This location is really beautiful and very large and bright. There's free wifi, books, tv screens and everything is very spaced out. Their drying bar is elevated so it kind of looks like you're seated at a table for drinks or something. It's cool. They were pretty busy as can be expected on a Sunday. I still waited about 10-15 minutes after my appt. I wasn't in a rush but I guess that's something to consider if you are on a tight schedule. I might go back on a weekday if that works better. The manager or owner was going around trying to make sure everyone was accommodated though and even started doing someone's toes themselves. I decided to upgrade to a spa pedicure since my nail technician Wendy was so nice. I don't think I have particularly rough feet since I'm still mostly just around the house, but the scrub and moisturizing treatment and massage felt great and Wendy was very thorough. The pedicure turned out great and afterwards Wendy gave me the quick shoulder massage while I waited for my toes to dry. It's cheaper to pay in cash so I did. They have one of those punch cards (signature) so ask for one if you plan on going back. For anyone wondering, the nail techs all wear masks. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! From the moment I walked in I was immediately greeted by the nail tech who asked me what kind of service I was getting. Once I let her know it was a basic mani she walked me over to their color choices. There is a vast variety to choose from so it took me awhile to pick but once I found what I wanted my nail tech (Yo Yo) began her work. I was extremely impressed with how detail oriented she was with taking care of my nails and making sure that each nail was treated with care. After I was done she walked me over to their drying section which I absolutely fell in love with. It's the most unique seating I've seen in a nail salon which made me fall in love with it even more. My tech gave me a nice lil massage and then walked back over to her station. A few mins later I was greeted by the owner (May Lin) and she was the sweetest person to talk to. I've never felt so welcome at a nail salon before and from that conversation I knew they just got a new customer! She asked me if I wanted tea, coffee, or water as I was drying my nails. Just looking around the place it feels like you're in an upscale spa and the overall aesthetic is beautiful. From the chandeliers, the waiting area, even the bathroom was nice. I took my little girl to get a gel manicure with French design yesterday morning....well 24 hours later its peeling!!! What a waste of $60! Wish I just painted her nails myself!!! See the pics! 2nd time at this location. First time the tech rushed through my dip powder and got it all over my skin. They had to file it off while I was getting my pedicure done. The dip powder chipped off two of my nails within a week. I've been to the original location prior and had a good experience so I thought it was just how dip powder worked. Fast forward to today I go to get a "refill" the place is packed but they manage to get me started with filling and soaking off my nails in the same acetone that they use for soaking of everyone's nails for the day. As I'm soaking off my polish a lady comes in with her friend and 3 or 4 kids saying she had an appointment for all of them. So my nail tech proceeds to start a manicure for a little girl. After 30 min in the soak tank and one kiddie mani down I notice my polish is mixing with a previous person's polish in the acetone. Gross. Next thing I know my nail tech is calling to perform another manicure before continuing to service my nails. Not wanting to erode my skin any longer I asked to just have the polish filed down. As soon as I take my hands out of the acetone tank, another nail tech carefully (she didn't want to spill it) brings it over to her station to start having someone else soak their nails in it. They asked me to pick my color and I explained that they were busy and I would come back later. The "manager" comes over and somewhat demands that I pick my color. I assured her I did not want my nails done there today and she charges me $10 for polish removal. As I stated before I've been to the old location and the staff was nice and the polish lasted. The new location is nicely decorated but seems to be cutting corners especially in terms of hygiene and quality. I will not return. read more

Owner and staff were very friendly and were able to take me right away. They did an OK job but it was very overpriced. The biggest reason i had to leave a rating though is this place is really, really gross. Nothing was sanitized and all the tools they used were very clearly JUST used on someone else. While getting a pedicure, my technician dropped the exfoliant pad on the floor and was just going to keep using it, I had to ask him not to. I was just skeeved out the whole time. One of my cuticles was ripped off during my manicure, and now a day later that finger is burning badly so i am really hoping i didn't get an infection. read more

If you get someone you don't like and they're doing bad, speak up cause they'll fix it or change which person does your nails. The establishment is nice and clean though! The owner was very friendly and the salon is gorgeous. However, the girl that did my nails was not friendly at all and was super rough, hurting me throughout my entire appointment. I have been getting artificial nails for 20 years so I don't have sensitive fingers! She cut me on 7 out of my 10 fingers with the electric nail file and now I have scabs on 7 of my cuticles. The only time she spoke to be was to ask me if I wanted services that would cost extra money. I brought my 4 year old daughter with me. They tried to seat her behind me on the other side of the salon where she was completely out of my sight. I had to specifically ask for her to be moved next to me because I felt uncomfortable I couldn't see her. Her nails were poorly painted! She got purple with purple glitter on top. The glitter coat did not cover the whole nail and looked silly because it was poorly done. They chipped later that day. I won't be returning. read more

SCAM ALERT. Purchased a gift card here with cash for my girlfriend for her birthday. When she used it the first time she told me they charged her a credit card fee even though she paid with a GIFT CARD that was paid with CASH. That was the first red flag. Next, she went today to use the remainder of her gift card. When she got home she told me that not only did they charge her extra again as if she was paying with a credit card, but they also added an additional $5 charge even though she got EXACTLY what she did her last visit. Nobody likes an untrustworthy nail salon. This type of scam is unforgivable and she will not be returning. I'd avoid unless you don't mind paying made up fees. read more

3.5 stars. The work is good, but it's rushed. Everyone works so fast because there is no organization to the scheduling of clients. Appointments that are set are not respected. Imperfections in the nails are ignored unless you bring them up, but it's their job to notice the flaws and fix it! The 10 minute massage portion of the pedicure was pointless, they rushed that too. The store/location is beautiful and massive but the operations, customer service and quality of the work are not worth the cost. I gave them three separate appointments to accommodate me and make me a long term guest and it's a sad no for me. So much money spent all for me to be unsatisfied 3 times. Pretty aesthetically but that's about it, it's nothing special compared to your local salon. The owner is very nice and they do have good work so I recommend it but it's a no for me after my visit today. read more

The nail tech named "May" does amazing long nails. I have acrylic stiletto shape and May shaped them beautifully. I dislike techs that make wide/ fat nail shape! They're also very strong. The store is clean and attractive with lovely crystal chandeliers around. Also tv's to watch on walls if you like that. Try them! I typically call a few days in advance to be sure I can get my preferred appointment time but they accommodate walk ins. The pricing is reasonable and average its worth it to me, I am willing to pay for quality. I recommend Crystal Nail & am very impressed with May's skill and they're all very friendly so you feel welcome. read more

Not sure if they loved locations but I am reviewing the crystal nail salon on merrick road next to the OTF. I really can only say two positive things about this place and that's the decor and the fact that my nails came out nice by some miracle. It started off with how they tried to take off my previous powder polish. Instead of foil, they just had me dip all my fingers in pure acetone. Pretty sure I'm going to wake up tomorrow with 2nd degree burns. They did this process, I kid you not, more than 10 times just to slowly file off the old polish. So it was soak (burn), file, soak, file. The process was clearly getting no where. Then, when I told them I wanted to change the shape from square to coffin, they said okay and proceeded to file my nails into a round shape. Another nail tech came by and insisted he do my nails, asked me the shape, then proceeded to fine my nails into a more almond shape. Needless to say my nails are not coffin shaped. I dealt with it and moved on. Finally got the color on which was pretty seamless (I would've hoped so since it's the easiest part) l. But when it came to filing, it was a horror show. I was in visible pain and the nail tech just proceeded without any hesitation. My cuticle beds are raw and red that even washing my hands burned. And, to top is all off, they left my hands with this gross residue from the socking process and didn't bother to try and remove it. Needless to say I will not be returning read more

I'm new to the area so I decided to go to a nail salon closest to my home. I showed up with a photo of what I wanted and they quoted me $55 to get tips and 3 colors. To my dismay,I had to endure 45 minutes of complaining about the removal of thick sns power from my nails by Kelly. Because Kelly kept complaining about the thickness of the previous sns, the owner increased the cost to $60, for work. Then they decided that the length of my nails were too long and wanted to increase the cost an additional $20, so I had them cut an 1/8" off. Then they wanted an extra $13 to add Rhinestones to one finger on both hands which should have been included in the original quote. So I declined, the stones. At the end they charged me $65. For Overpriced and mediocre work. Run do not go here they keep increasing cost as they go and the quality of work is below average. Nails are lumpy and not coffin shape as I originally requested. read more
