This salon was my regular salon, and before the new owners took over, I really enjoyed coming here. This past December, my usual nail tech was unavailable so I saw Kerri for a gel manicure. From the moment I walked in it was a disaster. She panicked and said out loud that I was 15 mins early to my appt and she was running behind. I assured her that it was no rush, I came from work. If you could see anxiety and stress as a cloud around a person, she was the epitome of it and right away it made me uncomfortable. When it was my turn, she was very quiet when she normally is talkative and pleasant - i even initiated conversation to give her an opening to maybe vent. She was working unprofessionally quick and aggressively, which upsets me because I value nail health and handling my thick nails with care. When filing my nails, she actually jerked my finger so hard and aggressively at the joint that I yelped in pain. I'm never one to complain, even if my nails are filed crooked. When it came to painting my nails, she was almost done, and the top coat she used destroyed the work she did which required her to redo my nails, filing off ALL the polish. which again she did aggressively and it really thinned my nails. As she was doing so, she (right in front of me) was aggressively saying to the owner how she wants to go home and how tired she is. I was extremely uncomfortable. At the end of the day, my nails were done but the experience was awful. I decided I would never go back. I went to a new place a few weeks later to have my nails done and they were stained a horrible highlighter yellow color and so badly damaged from all the filling she did to removed the polish. It is now almost the end of march.... It's been three months and the yellow and damage is still here, still growing out.

When I went, they took a long time to do my nails and the nails were chunky. I went back and they spent a long time fixing them and tried to argue that the powder didn't last well or had to be thick because my nails were so short. I've gotten powder done of my short nails many times in the past at the salon across the street and the service was quick and there was never an issue. In the end, they did a good job fixing my nails, but it took hours of my time. She drilled too much and had to redo powder entirely on one nail. I think there are better options for a dip powder gel in the area. The lady doing my nails kept trying to make it seem like I needed to get gel-x or a different service because powder gel wouldn't work for my short nails. I wonder if they were really trained well on how to use powder gel and if this is why I had such a weird experience. My nails were literally irritated by the end and after a week, I took these right off.

Camille was very fast as I was on my lunch break and I liked how she was focused and wasn't distracted by talking, texting or chatting throughout the salon. This is a well-oiled machine and I love the way it's run. No fuss, to the point, great nail experience. So far, I am enjoying my nails as I am very, very, very, very particular about my shape, nail bed coverage, polish technique and how long they last. I changed my shape so I will have to get used to it, but I will be paying close attention in the next few days to how the shape holds up and if the shine of my gel coat remains. But we all know the most important part is how the nails look as they grow away from the cuticles. Yet to be seen... My only disappointment is that I wanted to schedule an appointment in two weeks and Camila's fully booked. Now what? Guess I'll have no choice but to book someone else.
