Before she painted I used my nails to scrap off what I could. This seemed to make her more upset because she had to clip off more skin again. The paint job on both my hands and feet was awful. It was uneven on the surface with clumps on one side and not painted well. Lydia obviously has regulars because she attended to them instead of doing me. First time there and when made appointment did not tell my husband was cash only. Had to zelle money. Place was old and run down. Bathroom was like a third world country. Cannot poop or put toilet paper in toilet. Would never go back.

I was walking home from the train station one day, badly in need of a mani/pedi and dreading my drive back to my old nail salon or trying a new place on park avenue and I popped into this salon. Yes, it's small and not that fancy...which kind of made me miss my old spot (I'm big on atmosphere) but the actual nail job was AMAZING. I went to Merry and I couldn't be happier. She understands how your nails should look without much direction, is quick and efficient while really giving the highest quality of service. She scrubbed my feet, cleaned under each nail, gently cut the cuticles and really made my feet look new! I received a spa pedicure and free manicure (Mon - Wed) for exactly HALF of the price of my old place. Price isn't everything...but they did a MUCH better job as well. One of my pet peeves a nail salons is that they pour nail polish remover into the bottles to stretch the nail polish...none of that here. The selection is small, so you might want to bring your own polish if there's a color that you want but at least all of the nail polishes are full quality. PROS: - Quick without compromising quality - Great scrub on feet - Cleans nails and does a great mani/pedi without much direction - Extremely well priced - Friendly, but not too talkative staff - Does not water down nail polish - No wait CONS - Atmosphere: a little bit small and not too fancy/luxurious (definitely a tiny price to pay for this service) I will definitely be back to see Merry as soon as possible and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. It is bright and clean inside. I know another location opened in Oceanside recently, but I haven't tried that one yet. This is my favorite salon because Hannah does a fantastic job. If you dread sitting in a chair for an hour and a half to two hours, look no further. Hannah removes my powder gel and creates a design in just 60 minutes. I usually show her a photo, and she always delivers exactly what I want. I can't recommend other nail technicians, but Hannah is amazing at what she does for as long as I've known her. She does book up quickly because she is just that good, so be sure to book her at least a week in advance. Depending on the day and time, the parking lot is shared with the Dunkin' next door and tends to flood when it rains or snows, so be mindful of that.
