I had to have my furnace cleaned and thought it was a great deal until they tried to tell me my furnace is getting old and needed to be replaced. The air conditioning also need a small part replace which costs $25 and they wanted to charge me over $500. Then I discovered that the air conditioning unit was not completely cleaned. Rep. came to my house and I explained what I needed and he stated he could not do anything. He told me they could not replace the flue on the roof because that needed to be done by a roofer! Roofers put shingles on roofs, not flues! Then I needed some heat tape on a water line and he did not even look at it just said "per code" we can't do that, YET I had a licensed inspector say it can be done and that would be to code. Horrible experience!! First off, we were originally quoted $99 to have our lines roto-rooter'd. When the technician arrived, he wasn't able to get his machine into our basement and said he had to go get a smaller machine. Three hours later he came back with it but said it was actually going to cost $260. If we would've known that ahead of time we would have just called a different company. Unfortunately we got the bad news that we need our sewer line replaced. The technician said he'd get back to us with a quote and we set up an appointment to go over it and talk about the plan of action. He didn't show up for that appointment and several phone calls went un-returned. Our sewer started backing up again this weekend, so we called Plumbline to see if we could get it roto-rooter'd again to buy us some time. We explained the above mentioned situation to the receptionist, telling her about the price difference and that we have been trying to get a hold of our technician without luck. She said they could come out to roto-root our lines again and cover it under the warranty for all the trouble we've had with them. We set up an appointment window between 2-4. After re-arranging our work schedules to be home for the appointment window, 4pm rolls around and no technician. We called and they said that the appointment was put on hold because they left us a message saying they wouldn't cover it under the warranty. When we asked to talk to a manager they said there weren't any in the office and we would have to leave a message. Now it's 5pm on a Saturday and we don't have a sewer system. You can bet we wont be using these guys to replace our sewer lines (a $7-10k job!)". I have been a customer with them for about 2 years. I even paid for their 5-year membership for two other properties and I REGRET PAYING for the membership. Their services were good to start with but they do not value their customers. They will not keep a scheduled appointments, this happened on multiple occasions. Their customer service agents are rude with the exception of Deena who is remarkably nice. The show no respect for your time and schedule. If I could of gave a big fat zero, I would have. Called plumbline to get an estimate on a new furnace install. Phone rang and rang. Hung up the first time, figuring they were busy. Tried again an hour later. Let it ring and ring until I got an answer, it was a voicemail. Left a message stating I was in the market for a new furnace install. Left my info and waited for a call back. 24 hrs later nothing. Called another company and they sent someone right out. I will have a new furnace in three days. Sooner if my schedule worked. Just heard a plumbline commercial on the radio and that's what prompted me to write this review. Practice what you preach people because as far as I am concerned your service is bottom line. A few years ago our AC broke during a heatwave right before I was leaving the country, I had a new AC unit the next day from Plumbline. They have since replaced my furnace, which died of old age. Their service people have always been prompt, professional and knowledgable. Most recently the outside AC unit went bad, this was a quality Carrier unit but it failed. After attempting to fix it they did EXACTLY what their warranty said and gave me a new unit! It's hard to find a company with this much integrity and follow through. Not impressed. I had Plumbline out for a simple question and finally agreed to a $189 service check on my furnace. During the process, the technician pointed out my ignitor was going bad and it would be $303 to replace it. I asked why so expensive and we discussed it must be the fact it's an important part - only took him 5 seconds to put the new one in since he already pulled mine out. NOoooo. I later looked them up on the internet and mine cost $28, so I was charged $275 for a 5 second job since he was already there anyway.. I find this to be rape. Any website will tell you these are cheap and to keep on on hand in case you need it on that Sunday 4 below morning. Two simple screws held mine in. Otherwise thought they were good, but how can you trust a company like that? read more

The service I got from Plumbline was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. All they had to do was clear a main line. It took Jason Jordan 4hrs. Two hours to do the work, and two hours to, *attempt* to clean up the mess. I hired a cleaner to come in. Sure, I signed the paperwork which said I was happy - it was just to get the very unqualified technician out of my house!! They wanted to call a "plumber" to install a toilet flange!! That is beyond, EASY, so I guess Jason Jordan is not, "an expert in plumbing".. Also, Jason Jordan is a liar. He said to me that he would have his "boss" call, and they would discount the shody service. I have the paperwork that states this!! It never hapened!! Plumbline is 100% garbage, and the good reviews must be from a long time ago. I am actually thinking about calling a lawyer.. I am have health issues and am self-quarantined until the 15th, we explained this to the company when we scheduled and were told it would not be an issue. The first tech sent out, Bill, was wonderful and took appropriate precautions for my safety with a mask, gloves, and booties but unfortunately was unable to fix our issue. Another plumber and a camera tech, Brandon and Brian, were sent out to check out our pipes the next day. Neither of them took any precautions at all to ensure my or their safety at all, no masks, no gloves, etc (Thanks for the black finger prints all over my cabinets Brandon). Now I have to decontaminate all of the areas they were in due to my medical issues; that is unacceptable, unprofessional, and infuriating. They were unable to fix our issue as well and quoted us a very large (not unexpected) amount to fix the issue, but could not tell us what the actual issue was and wanted to go straight to demolition (big red flag there). Thankfully, my brother is a contractor and said what they wanted to do was overkill for the problem without knowing exactly what is wrong, as there are other fixes that could be more affordable and may be better for us in this situation without any demolition at all. If your company is not going to value my, their own, and other customers safety why would I want you to demo a large part of my house? Your two plumbers lost you our business today. How many other customers have you put in danger too, I wonder? BTW every other company I have called to double check your guesses has expressed dismay at this situation and recommended contacting Jeffco Public Health, which sounds like a great idea right now. Friendly, on time, professional. However $102 later (47 trip charge 55.35 diagnostic charge), it's a mixed bag because the $47 trip charge was the only charge I thought I'd be paying to see if something was wrong, even after I asked the screener what it would typically cost. I would not feel completely over charged if she had just been up front with those costs in the first place. This appointment/diagnosis took all of 15 minutes. The review is low due to the cost. I will be looking for a new plumber to use in the future. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a Furnace Tune Up with Plumbline on a Monday afternoon two weeks ago. My boyfriend waited at home during the scheduled time frame and no one showed. Neither of us received a phone call so I gave them a call. I called a total of 5 times with no answer. I went to their website and sent them a message there and received an immediate call back. The woman on the phone claimed that they had called saying they would not make it, but neither of us received the call or message. We checked our numbers which were correct and without apologies she insisted we received a phone call. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt so I rescheduled for the following week. Again, no show, no call. This time, when I called, I got through right away and the woman was very apologetic and unsure of what happened. She took my information and promised a manager would get in touch within the next 24 hours. I never heard from them. I am bummed because other Yelpers had good experiences so I am not sure what is going on with Plumbline. But if sitting at home waiting for a no show technician TWICE is not your cup of tea, I'd pass. read more

while bidding out a new furnace and central a/c system- i got a recommendation from homeadvisor for Plumbline. Rep spent approx 2 hrs at home and very knowledgeable about systems, etc. Received bids ranging from $13.3 k to $14.6 k depending on models and efficiency etc. Asked him to break down bid for equip vs labor; rep was hesitant to do but finally agreed. For the 13.3 k bid it was approx $4900 for the equipment and over $8300 for labor and overhead- 2 men @ 8-10 hrs for install. This was so outrageous i didnt even respond. Got another bid from an Angie's list recommended contractor (A+ BBB) and total including labor for same system was $6600. Wow could not believe difference. I believe every company needs to make a decent profit but here Plumbline was way out of line. so beware and get multiple bids. \ read more

The good: 1) When we had a water line freeze on New Years Eve, they came out the next day to fix it. They were one of the few companies that I called that were able to come out on short notice, and I appreciate that they were able to get our water up and running within a few hours. So they saved us when we were in a pinch. 2) The plumber was polite and professional. The not-so-good: 1) They are a bit pricey. It was over $1,000 for 3.5 hours worth of work, even though it was about 75 dollars worth of parts. So basically $280 per hour. It was New Years Day and an emergency repair, so I understand that it was not going to be cheap. But still, some might consider that gouging. 2) They apparently do not stand behind their work. They installed a new pipe in the finished ceiling, but did it in such a way that it is hanging about an inch too low. So now we cannot install new drywall, because the pipe would be entirely within the new drywall. I did not discover this error until the next day. I called, left a message asking them if they would be willing to come back and fix it for no additional charge (it would take about an hour for them with their equipment). They have chosen to completely ignore my request. I have not gotten a callback, despite leaving them all of my information. So I will now have to hire someone else to finish the shoddy work that they refuse to fix. Bottom line, I will never use them again due to their atrocious customer service and high prices. I had used them before for a new furnace and air conditioning and was very happy with the service and the unit they put in. When my old hot water heater failed in 2011, I called them again. They are very expensive, and they aren't shy telling you why, but I expected a quality hot water heater to be put in. Not the case. I've had to relight the pilot light on it at least every 6 months since it was put in. I called the manufacturer numerous times and now 4 years later, I can't light it any more as it has completely failed. After doing some research, I find out that American Hot Water Company was sued in a class action suit in 2008, and there's more than 227 complaints on the consumer affairs website. The hot water heater is under warranty but Plumbline wants almost the same amount I spent 4 years ago to put it in. My conversation with the manager wasn't comforting, it was a joke. It was like listening to some one reading you a bad bedtime story over and over again with the only good ending to the story being when I hung up. Do yourself a favor, go with a plumbing company that only sells quality products. This company sells you below par products knowing that you can't afford the average to premium products and then when they fail they can get you again. read more

Ugh. Where do I begin. A couple months back I Tried to make an appointment with them to get my bathroom drain snake because it was not draining as fast. They responded appropriately and send someone over within 72 hours (I still think that a long time to wait but milligram). They came over this snaked my drain was draining appropriately. No my drain stopped working again so I called them to come and sneak it again. They called me back but I was at work and was not able to pick up and when I was about to call them to set up the appointment I got a text message to confirm an appointment with the plumber the next day between ours 5 pm and 9 pm. So instead of calling back I just confirmed via text like the text instructed me to do. They did not come the next day they did not come the day after that the day following that I called them to see if they were coming soon. The lady on the phone made it seem like it was my fault because my appointment was not officially made because I never called them back. I told them I received the text message and I confirmed via text message. She said the text message was not the right way to do it. I asked her why then send me a text message to confirm if that was not even possible. She said it was my mistake and they had no appointments available for another seven days. Never using them again. Called another company to come over and I had someone respond and be at my house within 12 hours. read more

He fixed my ac, then in conversation, I was asking for advice on how to clear a drain that a quarter sized earring was lodged in, he fixed it, no charge. We were originally going with a different company and even had an install date. We have used this company for several year and overall have been satisfied with service however we called to have some work down on our furnace about a month ago. The tech was not sure how to do the work so informed us that they would send someone with more experience to look at the job. 2 weeks later and many calls to the office another tech was sent out who stated that he could have the job done and he would get back with us the next day. 1 week later still calling to get job done. Finally get job scheduled and then tech was a no show. Very disappointed with service and followup. Finally had to go to a competitor for service. read more

I called Plumbline as my landlord requested. Got on the schedule a week ago as my shower head is constantly running with scalding hot water. Wont turn off. They were supposed to show today at 1-5...They called at 10a this morning and said 'sorry we cant make it'. no explanation until I asked. The tech that was scheduled for my house hit a GAS line on his first job and couldnt leave until it was fixed. When I asked what the emergency protocol was, she just said we will have to reschedule, but not until TUESDAY of next week. Another 5 days of my hot water continuously running from my shower. no thanks Plumbline. A company your size should have a procedure in place for these situations. No faith in them at all. read more

When dealing with Plumbline, be very careful on the fake discounts they offer. My parents, who are in their 80's contacted Plumbline to replace their furnace, AC and hot water heater. The bid showed many discounts, senior discount, veteran discount and the most egregious was a free furnace if they purchased an air conditioner. Their discounts claims are false and be sure to obtain bids from other reputable companies. We did, and their prices without discounts came back at 60% to 40% less than Plumbline. Was very impressed when a technician came out and fixed an electrical issue and didn't charge me because it was a simple fix. So I called them when I needed a new water heater and they were running a $999 special. Tech gave me an estimate of over $2700. I asked him to explain why it was so much more (it should have been about $60 to upgrade from a 40 to a 50 gal., $150 for an expansion tank, and $30 for a pan) but he couldn't give me an answer and just said he wishes they wouldn't run that ad. I got three more quotes, all of which were under $1300. read more

Apparently, their time is more valuable than yours (though you're the one with the money). Save yourself the aggravation and call another service. UPDATE to 6/19 review: The City of Arvada's inspectors just left my home and Plumbline Services failed inspection for the HVAC as well as the tankless units. The Electrical inspector was so dissatisified with the results of what he saw that he stopped the inspection before he finished and demanded that Plumbline send the electrician who did the work out along with his license information. They failed what the inspector called a "very big deal" issue with plumbing - the gas line going to provide 390,000BTUs to the Eternal units is far too small and must be replaced for them to be installed to code. UPDATE to 6/10 review. Plumbline has proven to be very "crafty" in how they conduct business when things go terribly wrong. See my previous review on 6/10 to learn the back-story. This follow-up is after interacting with Bob Logan (service manager) and Plubline's Controller (I still am unsure of his name because he didn't have the consideration to not use speakerphone both during his two minute rambling of a voice mail as well as when I called him back). After the incident that left my home with nearly $20,000 in damage due to flooding, damaged stucco, etc.. Plumbline immediately "sprang to action" on my behalf - or so I thought. Bob Logan expressed his deepest symphathies with what had transpired, assured me that Plumbline takes their reputation extraordinarily seriously, and would do anything to make the situation right. At one point during my first couple of phone calls with him he said "I'd just cut you a check right now for the damages if I could but it sounds like we've got more than just a few thousand in damages going on there." Last week I was informed that Plumbline would be involving their insurance company - entirely understandable. I was asked to provide photos that I had taken of the damage for their company to take a look at. I was also told to get whoever I needed out to get estimates and the repair work process started to make my home whole again. I was told I'd hear back from someone as soon as they had talked with the insurance company and knew what would happen next. In the meantime, Plumbline replaced the motherboard on my Eternal tankless unit (the one they weren't authorized to install in the first place), and then they went silent. Fast-forward to today - 6/18 - I emailed Bob Logan with some questions surrouding getting damages repaired and the Xcel Energy rebates I should be getting but nobody ever assisted me with. I specifically asked Bob to call me back on one of two phone numbers. What happened next was interesting - I received a voicemail on my work telephone number, one that was gleened from my email signature - not the numbers provided for callback - and a two minute voicemail was left with fun words such as "we're not admitting fault" and then the tables were turned back on me and I was told to go file a claim if I wanted the damages fixed. I'm now out about $7,000 in up-front cash between deductibles, new plumbers to fix the problems with the tankless units, and a deductible on my homeowner's policy. We all know what happens next - months and months of back and forth to determine fault. I spent $22,175 with Plumbline for two Eternal tankless units and a furnace. I will get to spend an addiitonal $20-30k repairing the damage done to my home. I welcome anyone with questions regarding my experience to contact me for the full story. This is obviously one super long and wordy review - for a reason - I don't want to see ANYONE get taken advantage of by this group again. The interesting part - I was actually going to go online and write a glowing review of how they handled the problem last week when they told me everything would be ok. During this incredibly hot summer, our A/C has not been working. We called Plumbline and had to wait 12 days before someone could come out. When he did, he said the compressor was bad, the situation was dangerous, we needed coolant and that we needed an entirely new unit for $2000. Before agreeing to the work, we had another contractor come in. After reviewing the Plumbline report, he went to the unit, flipped a few switches and it started working. He said any expert should know that it takes a unit some time to kick on. All we needed was to clean the exterior of the unit off, reset it and to install a new filter in the attic. So after a combined three weeks of no A/C, we simply needed a hose and a new filter for $5 and have been happily cool ever since. I strongly feel that Plumbline was either incompetent or trying to rip us off. Either way, we won't be calling again. read more

Horrible company, please don't use them! They advertise a lot on the radio and their website seemed pretty comprehensive, so we figured they should be a decent company, but we were wrong. Both times we called them out, they tried to overcharge us. The first time, I called Plumbline to perform routine maintenance on our furnace and the guy that came out seemed really nice. He spent about an hour checking the furnace and supposedly blowing out dust. However, all he really did was change a furnace filter (wow, like I couldn't do that myself) and told us that the heating element was going bad and needed to be replaced. He kept on saying the furnace is an older model and probably needs to be replaced soon. Keep in mind that our furnace was less than 15 years old (most furnaces/AC need replacing only after they are 25 years old) and when I called another qualified technician from another company they found nothing wrong. The total was $185 for the maintenance (all he did was put in a cheap air filter and use a compressed air can) and they wanted $550 for a new heating element. The second time we called it was for a simple cleaning of our mainline. They advertise that they will clean "any drain, including the mainline, for $99," well the guy wanted $150 because in his mind it was very dirty. Thankfully, I didn't use their service and called a few other companies and got our mainline cleaned for $75. Most of the estimates from other companies were around $80-90, so why is Plumbline trying to charge $150! PS: Their radio ads are a little stupid IMHO, there's really no reason to make the guy in all of their commercials sound like the "dumbest person alive," while their smart wife saves the day. Men and women can be equally smart or equally stupid. When people get so angry about the Dr. Pepper 10 comercials, I don't understand why Plumbline continues to use such silly ads. read more

Their quote seemed very high so I told them I wanted to do some research. 24 hours later I had a quote for the exact same furnace and a humidifier, total cost $1000.00 less than Plumbline. The sales experience with these guys is like buying a car. If you are thinking about doing business with them do yourself a favor and get another quote or two. read more

A friend of mine called Plumbline to fix his hot water heater and had a terrible experience this past weekend. The technician was two hours late and once he arrived and looked at the water heater had to call the "help line" for the water heater company for help in fixing the problem. He then realized that he didn't have a voltage meter with him, so he left for 45 minutes to "run to the store" to buy a new one. Once he returned he quoted my friend over $400.00 for a new part needed to fix the problem. My friend, being pretty unhappy with the poor service, paid the exorbitant $165.00 service fee and sent the technician on his way. He then talked with a neighbor who recommended he call the company who had originally installed the water heater. That company diagnosed the problem over the phone, charged my friend $25.00 for the needed part, shipped it to his house for my friend to install himself, and now the water heater is fixed. I don't want to write the name of the technician, but in my opinion this is terrible service. The technician obviously had no idea what he was doing, showed up late, didn't have the needed equipment and WAY overcharged my friend for the necessary part. I would not use this company, my friend will not use it again, and we wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I called Plumbline based on a recommendation from my brother. When I scheduled my appointment, the representative was courteous and thorough. My appointment was scheduled for 2-4 but they called me when they could come early. Amone A. was AWESOME. I had water flowing to my basement floor when my washing machine drained. I thought it was a clog, and Plumbline had a $99 snake special. It ended up being a crack in the trap of a utility tub which he told me would cost $12 from Home Depot. He was at my house an hour and it only cost me the $99. Amone A. was very courteous and I was extremely pleased with his promptness and honesty. An A+++++ read more

Pricing is not competitive and their sales tactics are geared toward selling a new furnace...no matter what the problem is. While the customer service of this company is certainly intact, we found the pricing, overhead and sales tactics to be outrageous. When the technician arrived, before even looking at my furnace he told me that my heating element was probably cracked and that I was definitely going to need a new furnace. Well, he took the whole furnace apart and found not only was the heating element not cracked but it was in perfect condition - as was the rest of my furnace save the draft inducer motor. I was relieved until I asked him what the cost of the part was...he took out his catalog (Plumbline generated) of prices and pointed to the part for $800! I immediately looked up the exact same part on amazon and found it for $70. When I asked him about the price difference he said, "we're a big company so we have to have some overhead on our pricing." Then he proceeded to tell me I should just get a new furnace because mine is almost 20 years old. Another representative from Plumbline called a "comfort counselor" came to my house to measure my furnace and decide what kind of furnace I needed. Turns out the cheapest option was $4000. He went on to tell me about all the warranties and that they'd put in a new thermostat for free! I said I didn't want a new thermostat because mine works fine and it felt wasteful to me to put in a new one...he just stared at me. I told him I'd like to think about it. My fiance ordered the part on Amazon, we looked up a you tube video and 30 minutes later, my furnace was humming and warming my house like it never has before! read more

Neurosurgeons are the highest paid of all medical professionals with a median annual income of around $704,170.This is largely due to the fact that they have to be flippin smart to become a Neurosurgeon, AND it takes extensive educational and residency requirements to become one. Neurosurgeons operate on people's brain. Pretty darn impressive, right? Every time they operate, they literally have their patient's life in their hands. Calculated as an hourly wage, that equates to about $339 per hour. Less if you count the hours Neurosurgeons are on-call. On the other hand, you have HVAC "professionals" who didn't go to college but learned their profession through a 6-month technical school coursework and recieved a certificate. HVAC professionals work on machines, replacing parts, and cleaning out the dust mites from heaters. Every time they come to your house to fix a broken piece of equipment, they literally have your balls in their hands. I called and made an appointment on Monday for a Wednesday 10am-Noon time-slot service call. Then I received a call from the service 5 mins before the appointment that stated that my service technician would have to stay on the job he is currently on for the remainder of the day and they wanted me to reschedule. Well I have already taken time off without pay today, so you want me to take another day off for the POSSIBILITY that you will show up next time...I think not. If you think about the time slot mentality, this service individual would have to cancel at least two more time-slots (12-2, 2-4, and maybe even 4-6) on individuals that are in the same boat as I am. The person that had the 8-10a slot and their "scope-creep" should have been rescheduled instead of canceling on at least 3-4 people that had hard appointments. Buyer beware...These guys are off the charts expensive. Their main goal is to dangle a $42.95 trip charge and then convince you to sign a 1 - 3 year contract for their services. Here is the rest of the story... Once the guy showed up and was shown what needed to be repaired, he began the hard sell. He worked up the numbers and showed me the two options I could chose. The first option included the repair cost and a service plan for $873. Option two was only the repair cost, for $891. I almost fell off my chair. I asked him if people were actually stupid enough to pay these rates for minor repairs and he responded that some people proceed. I obviously did not proceed, however I was on the hook for the $42.95 trip charge, a fee that I chalked up to a learning experience. I consulted other master plumbers and received an estimate of approximately $425 for the same work that Plumbline quoted $891, more than double the going rate. If money is no option, and you want an annual service contract that auto-renews, Plumbline is the company for you. Their technicians get commission on whatever it is they sell, or fix I should say. They are an absolute rip-off and they lie cheat and steal. When we first moved here we trusted the big brand. They tried to repair our furnace which failed a few weeks after they left. They came back 3 times and still could not fix it, and yet we were still out 780 bucks. Then the plumbing issue. Long story short, a popped hose bib from freezing and then a leaky elbow joint--- their quote-- 1,784.00 I called my neighbors plumber that he has been using for years----out the door he was 324 bucks. He laughed when I showed him what plubmline quoted me. He even shared his cost for parts, which was around 140 bucks. Usually I do like them, their response times and their techs. Prices are a bit high but ALL plumbers are!!! DO NOT get this new product ""Aeroseal Duct Sealing"" - it did not help reduce my heating bill; it did not help my 2 front rooms stay warmer; and actually still blows out a fine white mist like dust in my rooms (and I am 4 months removed from having the product installed thru my system)! read more
