While the technicians themselves were friendly, my overall experience with Summit was disappointing -- particularly given that they had been highly recommended by a neighbor. After the fourth visit and two failed inspections, I asked to speak with the owner. He said he'd show up on the final day and didn't. Not showing up after committing to do so speaks volumes. On multiple occasions, employees attempted to -- or did -- walk through my home beyond where work was being completed with their shoes on. This is a basic courtesy that should not have needed to be addressed. On the final day, an employee complained about the time spent waiting for the inspector to arrive. After five+ weeks of doing exactly that myself, I couldn't help but laugh internally. Most importantly, Summit advertises a "100% Right or 100% Free" guarantee on their website. These are not complicated words -- 100% means 100%, and free means free. There is no secondary meaning to either. When I raised this, I was told it essentially means they will keep trying until the job is done correctly -- which is admirable in theory, but falls well short of what "100% Free" implies when a customer has invested THOUSANDS of dollars. After reading the other reviews, I'm hoping the problem with my AC wasn't just a leak somewhere that could have been fixed for much less. I would strongly encourage potential customers to clarify what that guarantee truly means before signing a contract, and to get everything in writing. read more

Nothing but problems from the start. Had a whole new system installed five years ago and a free months later, water ran through our newly remodeled kitchen ceiling because the system had not been installed correctly. To their credit, they paid for the repairs--but every year we have problems and are now dealing with yet another one due to the original improper installation. I wish I could go back and hire another company! read more

I've been using Summit since ~2018 to handle my furnace maintenance. This summer I had them out to do a tuneup on my two A/C units. I mentioned to the tech that the upstairs didn't get quite as cold as I would like; while I suspected some of that could be system/ductwork limitations, he suggested that we could add a little more freon to the system in the event there was a possible slow leak. Ultimately, he ended up adding freon to both the upstairs and main floor unit, and unexpectedly much more to the main floor unit. The price after the fact surprised me, especially given that particular unit had appeared to have been working fine; the tech told me it was possible that unit had a leak. He informed me Summit would schedule a leak investigation if desired, but that it would cost a whopping $1,100, so I declined given the performance on that unit had been fine. Fast forward a week or two, and the main floor is quite hot. The ducts seem to be blowing hot air. At which point it became clear to me the unit has actually stopped functioning. I call Summit, which is busy with appointments and express my dismay that the unit stopped working after the tuneup. They tell me it may be a leak etc., but they will send someone out. I wait for the scheduled appointment and the tech that arrives this time clearly didn't look over the prior notes or photos before arrival. I explain to him the situation, and he was confused about which unit was implicated, and claimed that the prior pressure readings from the earlier tech clearly indicated there was a leak (which was not at all what I was told). He later retracted this statement after realizing what time of day the earlier appointment was and said those pressure readings were normal. He poked around briefly, but without much investigation declared the system to have a leak, and indicated there was an 80% chance of it being non-repairable. He indicated they would have to do the $1,100 search to locate the leak, and if it was in the condenser/evaporative coils it would not be repairable. If it was somewhere else in the line, it could be, but then they would possibly have to tear into my walls, etc. to identify the issue. When I asked how much a new unit would be, he gave me a rough quote of $15,000, but told me that they would have to look at specs to price out more specifically. I asked him to do so, given I wanted to know what I was looking at, and he appeared inconvenienced by the request and said it would take him an hour. (It did not.) During that process, the tech told me my ductwork was not sufficient and I would need to downsize my unit, and that the smaller size wouldn't be enough to cool the floor. He suggested my unit may have broken because I keep the basement vents closed, but then he also claimed these A/C units only last about ten years. The whole visit felt performative, and ultimately was much more focused on theoretical salesmanship than anything diagnostic. I was left pretty frustrated. I called out a different repair company recommended by a friend, and within 5 minutes he had identified the leak and the location in the coil. Contrary to what I was told by Summit, this company informed me the coil could be replaced and that I had many more years of life left in the unit. Within the week, I got the whole thing repaired and refilled for ~$1,200--not much more than the cost of a Summit "leak search." While I've had positive and knowledgeable techs with Summit, this whole experience was such a breach of trust that I will not be using them again. I had another company inspect my furnaces this fall for a fraction of the cost, and I will not be looking back. read more

I had a leak in my system from the condensation the heat pump creates and it was flooding the utility closet. Jason created a new drain system routing to fix the problem. He is very professional and competent. All of the service people I have interacted with at Summit are excellent. read more

My advice to you is to avoid Summit Heating & AC. Their tech came to our home last week (once he finally got around to showing up on the second day after he was scheduled to arrive) to perform what I expected to be warranty work on our AC since they installed it in 2020. He very condescendingly informed me that the leak was coming from our evaporative coil but "they didn't install that evaporative coil" so it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. If I wanted the evap coil replaced, it would cost me $3500. I thought that was pretty strange -- that they would install a $7,000 AC in 2020 but not install a new evaporative coil with it? Hmm.... Needless to say, I didn't have him do any work since nothing was going to be covered by the warranty. Next, I called Signature Heating & AC (they were recommended here in Nextdoor). Their tech informed me that the evaporative coil in my home was manufactured in 2017. Since our previous AC unit was installed in 1998, Summit HAD to have installed the evap coil. I ended up having Signature Heating recharge our AC. After thinking about it over the weekend, I contacted Summit and told them that I found out they lied about the evap coil and told them I was considering legal action. Only then did Summit "look over their paperwork again" and admitted to installing the evap coil. Now they say they are willing to honor the warranty and will only charge $1260 in labor to do the work - which would be great if I hadn't already paid $767 to recharge our AC system! Too bad they weren't honest from the beginning. Not only that, but the Summit tech forged my name to the diagnostic invoice. Also, to find the refrigerant leak in the first place, the Summit tech told me it would cost me $1100 for a pressure test. But when the Signature tech arrived, he used a refrigerant sniffer to locate the leak at no charge. I highly recommend Signature Heating & AC. Quentin (Signature) spent a lot of time explaining what was wrong with our system and gave us some options. I didn't feel like I was being lied to, up charged and taken advantage of. read more

Quality people that were open, honest and extremely helpful. Sky, repair/service tech, did a great job repairing my furnace. We had an issue with our furnace recently and called three companies to come give us estimates for repair. Two came back with extremely high quotes and wanted to replace several major components of newish system. Shane came out and did a thorough diagnostic walking me thru each component and explaining what was working and what was not. At the end of the day he replaced a faulty sensor and we are back in business. I won't go so far as to say the other companies were trying to rip me off but I think they would have unnecessarily replaced some components that were working fine. read more

Fast, affordable, did a great job. Installers Dan and Brian were friendly and professional.

I have used this company in the past for a heater repair, and they did great. I had a water heater issue recently arise and called for service. Brian and Frank arrived and replaced my water heater. Summit Heating did a great job in replacing my furnace humidifier. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable and the service techs arrived on time. One person deserves special recognition - Christian Castaneda. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about furnaces and humidifiers, but he had the ability to explain things so that I, as a layman, could understand them. He is also extraordinarily personable, and professional. Summit was the lowest bid of three bids I obtained, yet I couldn't have asked for better service. read more

First, their HVAC guy did an amazing job with my commercial heat pump on the roof of my commercial rental space....and then their electrician Eloy and helper Michael did a fantastic job on running new electrical lines and conduit and additions to my electrical panel for my display cases and refrigeration units. I will use them again. Courteous, prompt, knowledgable. Contact with their office was fast, efficient and reliable...Great all around. Needed to look elsewhere for commercial plumbing, but all around very pleased with the value and promptness of this operation. They know what they are doing. read more

Chris from Summit came out to troubleshoot a leaky faucet and ended up replacing when the old faucet wasn't salvageable. Terrible experience. The initial tech said my repair required a specific part, but the follow-up technician showed up without the part and was rude, argumentative, and disrespectful the entire time. No apology, no return call from ownership, and no refund--even though nothing was fixed. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more

Service quality was great! A bit pricier than I was hoping, but timely, and very professiona! Would recommen!

Excellent service from sales to install. I am going all-in on electric and heat pumps, and am interested in mini-split systems as well as using the new Denver climate action rebates. The mini-split solutions are flexible but complex, with a wide variety of configurations to support heating and cooling different zones, but Jeremy was interested and engaged (so many firms just want to replace your natural gas furnace and traditional AC). He came up with clever ideas that I hadn't thought of, and was open to listening to my ideas to come up with a solution. I was sold! When it came time to install it took only a day and the electrician, Eloy, did a great job sorting out our panel and working with me to find the most unobtrusive route for the new power lines. Vincent and Frank were professional installing the unit--they were neat and had everything wrapped up by 5:00. After that Casi and Deanna in the home office took care of registering my warranty with the manufacturer, filling out the forms for the rebates with Xcel and the city, and scheduling my inspection. All along the way everyone was communicative and receptive to my input and the price was the best I found to boot. Great job! read more

I went with Summit because of their good Yelp reviews and it was a good choice. We just moved into a new house and I wanted to get our HVAC, furnace, and water heater serviced. Jake was great. He was able to fix the two problems he found while he was here at our house. He made sure to explain everything he found and I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me on things we didn't need. We'll continue to use them for our yearly servicing going forward. read more

Summit came out on a very hot weekend for an emergency repair and got the AC for our business back to a cool temperature quickly. Their tech Jason was great, professional, honest, and thorough. He pulled the failing parts & even showed the capacitance with the multimeter to demonstrate they had gone bad. My only complaint was that when we booked the appointment it was not disclosed that there was an additional fee for a repair because it was for a business. That said, it wasn't an easy repair (the AC unit is in the ceiling 30' up) and they did a great job. read more

Timely but costly. $160 for the snake, then another $320 for the water jet. So $480!! We've been fighting this for some time, so all good.

Summit is the best HVAC company we've worked with. We bought a Lennox high efficiency heat pump and Sal and Mikael did an outstanding job of installing the system. They walked us through each step of the install process and were always there to answer all our questions. They earned our highest rating for exceptional customer service and for consistently going above and beyond for us. read more

We had a regular tune up and they were able to come over to inspect and clean up our hvac where it's running better now that it had before.

Brian did a great job replacing an outside faucet and redirecting another. The only concern I have was the price.

This is a follow up to our earlier review. We have been using them now over the years. Each time what we schedule gets done as scheduled. Now it's mostly what I call tuneups for AC or heating but we've always found them reliable and honest! When you're getting dependable service you stick with it! Reliability in this area is critical to us and we shall continue on as loyal customers with them! read more

Got an AC with them. Things did not go well with them from the start. Started with a 3 hour information on AC, the sales guy just wouldn't leave. After installed took them so long to email me a inspection certificate it was already October(AC was installed earlier in summer). Then covid happened. Finally got AC inspected. Recently noticed that the U shaped drain pipe leaked. Called them on a weekend, backup support took the information and never called back. Called them a week later and they said they will have to come over for $99 diagnostic fee? I told them it's a simple case of drainage pipe work not done right. They won't stand by their work and said sorry there is no way around this fee. Then gave me an incorrect email address that gave a failed email notification. Your message wasn't delivered to inquiries@summitco.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail. Precision maybe expensive but my husband used them for his property and they always stand by their work. Come to you the same day and don't charge it it's an issue with their work.... Even years later. read more

Called and set an appointment with them. 15 minutes before they are supposed to arrive, they call my husband (who was on another call) and leave a message saying they won't be coming. No explanation given or call back to reschedule. We both tried calling the number they called from as well as the business number in the email confirmation (which were different numbers) and neither one went through. STAY AWAY. Now we have to find someone else to do the work, and our toilet remains unusable. Update- the owner called to explain that the call was just to say that they were going to be late. However, the message that was left by the receptionist was that the plumber was UNABLE TO COME DUE TO AN ISSUE. The owner then tried to blame us for a miscommunication. He also explained that their phone system was down, yet my husband and I both tried to call within minutes of receiving their message (so it was working then). The owner seemed more concerned about my Yelp review and ended the call with telling me he was going to work with Yelp to get the review removed. Great customer service, and likely why they have so many positive reviews. Apparently the honest ones get taken down. read more

I reached out to Summit because of their good reviews on yelp and google and they did not disappoint. Been dealing a nightmare install from a separate HVAC contractor through a home warranty, and I reached out to Summit for an inspection for the work performed. Summit provided me an amazingly thorough inspection and report with tons of pictures and details regarding the safety issues and code violations from the previous contractor. Summit listened carefully to my situation and provided professional service and a very quick turnaround. Their technician Shane Sperry is kind, courteous and truly has the customers best interests in mind. Pricing for replacement of my condenser, evaporator, and furnace was competitive from what I've seen from other reputable HVAC contractors in the area. Working with Summit was a great experience. The quality of their work is the best we have seen, hands down. They are down to earth, friendly but professional, very knowledgable, and competent unlike many other contractors we have dealt with in the past. They arrive on time and the overall work looks clean and amazing when finished. They care about what they leave behind. The project lead, Amado, was wonderful to work with. He left and said they would send a e-mail with the options and prices to repair my faucet and shower, Which I never recieved. I called Kohler about my problem. When it was time for a new furnace, we did our due diligence and got several bids for different products. After meeting with the project managers it was clear that Summit is in a league of their own. Their associates were exceptionally knowledgeable about our specific needs and were able to communicate to us in layman's terms everything that was involved in their bid. The PM, Sam, was knowledgeable, respectful, and genuinely interested in hearing what was important to us and helping us get the right replacement. He was a pleasure to work with and the warranty that Summit offers cannot be beat. I was a little worried that there was no way the rest of the team at Summit could be as exceptional as Sam, but our installation crew of Jason and Nathan were equally impressive. Their knowledge and expertise were apparent. They worked incredibly hard to install the new furnace with an improved footprint that will work so much better in the space and make the whole system more efficient! They took their time to get things done correctly and we could tell they never considered us just another job. It's rare to find a company where everyone you come in contact with is so friendly, helpful, and truly experts in what they do, but that seems to be the case for Summit! We hope we don't have a need for HVAC services anytime soon, but if we do, we know we will call Summit! read more

I had a friend recommend Summit to me and I've very thankful he did. I had Luis come out and for an estimate for heatpump and mini-splits. He did a great job listening to my desires and determining the equipment I needed to keep my upstairs bedrooms cool. I had a quote from another company and Summit's was better and they are eligible for the Xcel and Denver rebates. I got the work done last week and Luis was communicative throughout the process and following up to make sure things were done well. I had to have some electrical work done to support the heatpump and the electricians Hector and Mike did a really great job (functional and aesthetic) installing a new subpanel and conduit to support the system. They made a point to make sure I understood what they were going to do and answer questions. Vincent and Frank were my installers. They did an AMAZING job, I never would have guessed it would look as good as it does before they started. The external line-hides look really good. They made a point to seal up everything very well. I got a ceiling cassette and two wall-mount mini-splits, they all look and function perfect.
