AMP Electric saved my life. Literally. We hired a very bad electrical company through home advisor to do a ton of electrical work in our house and to do a panel/service upgrade. Long story short, that company did a terrible job. Amp Electric was recommended by a friend to inspect the bad electrical work and give us a good understanding of what was wrong and everything that needed to be fixed. After telling the owner what had happened with the bad electrician, he send some one to take a look at it that same day because he was genuinely concerned for our safety. Tony showed up and went through everything the bad electricians had done, and made a detailed list for us and explained to us why things were unsafe and not to code. This guy is SUPER knowledgable. They came up with a bid to fix everything, and we went ahead and I hired them to fix everything. I am so happy we did! They went through our house with a fine toothed comb and fixed EVERY hazardous problem in our house, and there were many. They discovered a lot of really dangerous situations and they explained everything to us every step along the way. When they were done, they did a final walkthrough with us and explained every part of the work they did, and they also went through and explained every detail of the invoice before we wrote them a check. Something I thought was really cool was that I overheard, on multiple occasions, the more experienced electricians teaching the apprentice about codes and best practices, and explaining why the codes are there and why they do things a certain way. It was really refreshing to hear them take the time to really help the apprentice learn through looking at our house and helping him progress through his education. AMP Electric is made up of honest, knowledgable and kind people, and they have earned my trust and respect. After seeing what they uncovered and fixed in my house, I really believe they saved my family's lives many times over. I'm so grateful to them and I will only ever call them for electrical work. For the small repair I needed for my dad's house, this company is what an electrician should strive to be. I messaged them through Yelp around 8am and the owner responded quickly. I had problems with the yelp messaging system, but Lee, the owner (I think), didn't try to blame anyone, he just wanted to get to the problem. I really liked how he handled that technical issue that wasn't actually his fault. He disclosed his fees and we scheduled an appointment for 3pm, the last call of their work day. The electrician, Michael, showed up on time, wearing a mask correctly. We identified the outlets that needed addressing and he fixed them competently. He even ensured the faceplate screws were aligned consistently, a nice attention to detail. Most importantly, one of the outlets had an "open neutral" wire. He could have simply told me that this is going to take more time than we had, but he traced back to the problem which was a serious issue inside a junction box which had shorted and burned the insulation. He corrected the problem and made it safe. On a collateral issue which was not part of the service call, a possible grounding issue, he checked with Lee, who did not recommend an expensive repair, but indicate the possible need for follow up when they had more time. The entire job took exactly one hour. I couldn't be happier with their service, price, and competence. read more

Words cannot express just how grateful I am for Chris and AMP Electric. I am a brand new homeowner (first house ever!) and you can imagine this is somewhat of an overwhelming process for someone whos always relied on a landlord to get issues fixed for them lol. AMP Electric came in with a competitive quote, worked with us to make fair adjustments as unexpected work arose, and had professional and knowledgeable staff. We found AMP Electric by a friend's referral. We employed them to re-route and -wire a number of electrical outlets (due to removing a wall), running electric cable to our roof for installation of pot lights, and installation of two ceiling lights. Tony and Isaiah were polite and friendly, and thoroughly cleaned the areas they were working in before they finished work. Tony, in particular, stuck with us through some unexpected challenges (i.e., poorly done original electrical work), and patiently and comprehensively walked us through all the recommended changes. Despite some extra unanticipated labor & expenses, AMP stuck to their original quote with very fair (and minor) adjustments. Before leaving Tony revisited all the areas of work and tasks that been completed to make sure we didn't have any questions. He assured us of the 12 month warranty on all parts and labor, and that we could call any time. My experience with Caesar from AMP Electric was truly top notch. During an electrical panel replacement another company broke a thermostat while labeling the breakers. That company was reluctant to fix the mistake without replacing all other still working thermostats in the house. I spoke with Lee from AMP and the next day Caesar came out to help me with that single thermostat and a doorbell transformer upgrade. I received a response/pricing from Lee at AMP Electric very quickly. We set an appointment for a couple weeks later, and I was politely reminded the day before that appointment. Aaron finished a job and was available early which was great. I had 3 smoke detectors, one combination detector, and a GFCI replaced for a very reasonable price. Aaron received a bad detector from the supplier, and he didn't let it get him down. He cheerfully went to grab a replacement. Great guy and great service.
