SO IMPRESSED! We did not have an electrical "emergency" as just one of our breaker switches failed. It was the breaker that controlled our kitchen lights but the fridge and stove still worked. Not a huge deal, but the quick response from AMP was impressive. Aaron was our electrician and he was friendly, professional and switched out the bad breaker in record time. We will ALWAYS call AMP in the future should we need an electrician. Lee the owner is awesome and quick to respond. What a joke of a professional. I coordinated with Lee to get me a quote on an EV charger uninstall/install. It is located in the parking garage of a condo downtown. I had coordinated the property manager to meet him at the front desk and escort him to the site. When he couldn't find the precise location I even took screen shots of google maps and drew on them to help him know where exactly to go. That did not work, so I called him and tried to help direct him. He was extremely agitated and said "you know what, you're just wasting my time, good luck finding someone else." When I let him know that I would be filing a BBB complaint due to his customer service he replied "go ahead lol." Is this really someone you want to trust? Not professional at all. read more

The technician was courteous and professional. He found that our ceiling light and fan had a receiver that had gone out. My husband said "PLEASE FIND AN ELECTRICIAN. I just can't even think about it." When we moved in (cough cough 2 years ago), we had a couple of sconces that were literally burnt out. They never worked. One day recently he noticed that there were scorch marks inside the sconces. He wasn't sure when it happened and he was concerned there might be a wiring issue. I Yelped electricians and I got AMP. I called them and they scheduled someone right away. The tech came out right on time and took the time to inspect everything. He even called the owner to double check a few things to make sure we were safe. He replaced a few bulbs in other fixtures we were concerned about to ensure that was the only issue. They didn't charge me for the visit (that was so kind and unnecessary) and I will 100% be using them when we replace the sconces and any other electrical work we need in our home. read more

Lee came out to give a quote for a basement lighting job which turned into a full power upgrade. Lee took it upon himself to be the go between for contact the power company (CORE are a headache and a half) and the local city. Lee kept us in the loop of the on goings of when the panel replacement could be completed. Even with time constraints, Lee was able to set up a schedule that worked for both him and us. He sent out Tony and Aaron to prep and start the job (in a snow storm mind you). Both were polite, knowledgeable, and patient. Thought we had a broken outdoor foot switch, and called Lee. He was friendly and responsive, made an appointment the same week. He discovered the problem was nothing more than a breaker on an outlet that had been tripped-- I should have checked it and just didn't think of it-- and he didn't charge anything for his time. Another electrician left me with a dead motor in our attic gable exhaust fan and said we needed an HVAC person to replace a fan. Called my HVAC person who says to call an electrician to replace an gable fans. Whaaat?? Fortunately, I found AMP Electric & contacting them via Yelp along with a few other electricians. AMP was the most responsive sending an electrician to climb into my attic and figure out what size fan was needed. Had a quote via Yelp that afternoon and Lee scheduled the job 10 days out. Chris Preston arrived promptly at 8:30 with a mask in place, the replacement fan, tools, and a friendly attitude. He installed the fan within an hour, set & tested the thermostat connection that triggers the fan automatically. Now we're ready for summer. Prices were acceptable. I will call AMP again for any future electrical work. read more

Called Lee with Amp (he picked up on first call) to explain that the squirrels had chewed through multiple wires in my attic, and the squirrel catcher said it was a fire hazard. He came out shortly, gave me a very reasonable estimate (lower than I suspected it would be and they stuck to it), and a short time later Zac was here (at 8:40am for our 9am appt.) setting up his supplies to work in the attic all morning in tight spots he would have to crawl under and over the trusses to get to. Net-net, a dozen injunction boxes were installed, my attic is now completely safe, both Zac and Lee were very courteous and professional, and Zac even vacuumed up the area he had to work in down below with his wires and supplies. After reading Yelp reviews on AMP, I contacted them and got a very quick response. The electric on our oven/stove outlet wasn't working and we had already been without it for over 10 days. No fun!!! Lee told me they could fit us in early the next week and when we were finalizing times, he called and told me there had been a cancellation for that day. He sent James to my house and told me he would be there within 30 minutes. Tony from AMP Electric is a licensed electrician who installed 6 LED 4' strip lights in my basement, installed a new smoke detector, and set new outlets in the kitchen to bring electricity in my house up to code. He also repaired a broken GFCI outlet. The work was done to the estimated price. He came on time, explained what he was doing to me, and I am just very happy with all the work he has done. He will be back after the kitchen backsplash is installed to adjust the outlets and change them all to GFCI. He will also install new recessed lighting in my study and sort out my electrical panel so I know what each breaker controls. I was careful in selecting the company taking the trouble to get 5 quotes and checking references and licenses on DORA. Lee Morrison who runs the company and provides the quotes is also a pleasure to work with and both Tony and Lee are good guys who cared that felt safe and liked the work they did. It wasn't an easy thing to light out our basement dungeon but boy they managed. I had some really horrible experiences with tile work at my home so I was very cautious. The AMP quote was close to 1/4 (!!) what the highest quote was. It takes a lot of time getting all these quotes and checking all the references and licenses but I can tell you if you don't the time a botched job takes is a multiple! I had a small job, which usually puts me at the bottom of the service list, but Lee was quick to respond, listen to my request and set up an appointment...and his quote was $110 less than the backup company I had selected (that ghosted me, btw, after I asked two questions.) Mike did the job efficiently, and he was friendly and professional. A few days later there was a small glitch that I could have easily fixed, but I'm a girl, OK? Again when I called, Lee responded in a timely manner and wanted to make me 100% happy. This time Tony came by, and also was friendly and very professional. He fixed the problem in about 45 seconds, then taught me exactly what to do if the GFCI outlet trips in the future. He also was very nice about it, which I appreciated...because, yeah, I felt like an idiot having to call them. Both electricians readily complied with my mask-and-booties request, and I would be happy to have either one back here to help with any future electrical needs.
