Stephen and his team (John and Tyler) were angels sent just when I needed them most. My 5 star rating is based on timeliness, technical expertise, value, and thoroughness. I contacted Simply Mechanical after turning on my furnace for the first time (moved in over the summer) and smelling something amiss. Stephen was able to arrive within 48 hours and assess the problems of a broken fan, rust, leaking water, etc. He was very thorough as well to point out some other unsafe CO2 piping from my water heater and asked about my radon fan and sump pump. Ultimately I needed a new furnace. We spoke about options (he was very knowledgeable about heat pumps) and settled on a high efficiency furnace and humidifier that would be compatible with a future heat pump. He didnt try to sell me a new AC and said it wasnt needed yet. Three days later they were back to install and In the end I couldn't be happier! What set Stephen and his team apart was the time they took to explain everything they were doing to me, resetting and adjusting my thermastat, cleaning up, and going above and beyond (fixed my water heater CO2 exhausted). My furnace shut down so I woke up to a really cold house so I ran to yelp to help find someone to come out and look at it. I sent out a message to various companies and this one replied first. They even made it out by 10 that morning. My furnace was 27 years old and badly needed to be replaced. They gave me a fair price and did a fantastic job. They made a point to put down plastic so they wouldn't mess up my carpet and washed their hands when they had to go upstairs so they wouldn't get the walls dirty. When it was time to install A/C at our house, we went to friends for referrals and were lucky enough to be pointed in the direction of Simply Mechanical. Steve came out to give us a quote, we signed the contract (he was by far the best price, and he found an Xcel rebate no one else had mentioned), and two days later our A/C was installed and ready to go! Steve came back a few weeks later (we had to wait for the weather to cooperate) to run diagnostics that were required for the rebate. In May of this year, both my Furnace and A/C died on us. We contacted ARS again who quoted us almost $14k for both systems, after a "repeat customer discount" of 10%, which turned out to be more like a repeat pansy discount. This was for the 5th best system per online reviews. At the time of the initial install, eleven years ago, they told us Amana was "top of the line", but now could only bash the brand during their recent quote. They screwed us royally by installing a furnace that did not work well with our house layout, or the existing dinosaur of an A/C and their new recommendation was to go bigger. During the past few years, we had to replace the coil, blower and other major parts costing even more money. At this point we were advised to contact Simply Mechanical. Jon stopped by, took his time looking at everything and without a word from us on our issues, came right to the point with how the current system was not designed to work in our home and how he would recommend installing another intake vent, because our current system was sucking through a straw when trying to distribute the air through the house. He did not recommend a bigger, more expensive system, like ARS, did not sugar coat the issues that we would still have based on the floor plan, but instead added the new intake and increased the size of the air vent to the house. He installed both systems, American Standard, which is the top of the line system and now our house has no issues moving the air to the upper floor. Jon and his helper, Will, arrived early, were very professional and respectful of our wishes to not use our stairs, which were being re-stained, and completed in under the time frame specified. The cost was $4k less than ARS. To top it off, ARS charged us $80 to come take a look and Jon charged nothing. May I leave less than 1 star? I had them scheduled to assess a bid for HVAC, and unfortunately in the same day had my boiler stop working. I called them, they were able to come earlier that day then they were scheduled, and they mentioned that they work on boilers too so would assess that. The "comfort advisor" came out and messed with my boiler, he didn't have the parts to fix it (did I mention it's winter and I presented this job to them as an emergency?). As I was watching him, something sparked in his hand and my entire mechanical room shorted out. He was unable to locate and fix the issue he caused, and he said he "hoped I knew a good electrician". A well established and well connected company should a) know how to fix what they break or b) be connected to someone who does. He shrugged and left both my boiler broken and leaking, and my mechanical room without power. I spoke to his manager this morning, I explained to him that they never should have taken the emergency job if they didn't have the parts to fix it, and asked them to pay for this new $800 electrical board that the "comfort advisor" shorted out. His excuse? "It was already in bad shape". He couldn't explain what happened or how he would fix it, and left me in the dead of winter with less heat than I started with and in an emergency situation. Needless to say, I will not be taking simply mechanical's bid on a new hvac if this is how they operate in emergencies. read more

I messaged a bunch of HVAC companies and Steven responded immediately with the best quote. They were on site for about an hour (on a holiday, no less), assessed everything quickly and gave me a few options as far as how to fix my heating issue. SM came through with a last minute, same-day install of a new AC system this summer when mine started leaking freon and stinking up the house forcing me to to not have it during some of the hottest days this year. Luckily, it was absolutely a zero hassle experience that took roughly three hours start to finish and, while I'm no HVAC expert, I felt that the final cost was fair and worthwhile considering the response time, install quality, product and overall convenience. Steve came out and gave us a quote to install our whole house humidifier. He also recommended replacing the water heater (30 years old). We received the quote and were very impressed with the pricing, he accidently quoted us a larger unit (we had a 30 and quoted us 50) and we decided to go with the 40 gallon water heater and it was a great deal with bundling the water heater and humidifier. A week later (today) we had the install team Jon, Tim and Will come, they all showed up with masks and were hilarious and very lively. You can truly see how they love their job and their company (overhead Jon and Tim say they have been working together for 18 years). The whole job from draining, removal, install took approximately 3 hours, much faster than I expected. Jon then walked us through our new equipment and gave us thorough details about it. Just had Tim come in to work on my furnace. Although I'm a handyman around the house, when it comes to HVAC, we don't have access to all the parts and being in CO, we really need our furnace back up and running quick. I got a continuous blinking red led which documentation stated reverse polarity issue. The moment I described the issue, Tim started troubleshooting, and it didn't take long to figure out the issue. There were some loose electrical nuts that used a bit of tightening, but a faulty ignitor seemed to be the culprit. He had the part already in his truck for him to quickly repair. He also spotted some loose wiring that caused some weird reaction, which he was able to resolve fairly quickly as well. What he did in 30 minutes, I would have spent an entire day figuring out, and that is not including trying to figure out where to get furnace parts around town. On top of all his great work, the price was extremely reasonable. Add me to the list of good experiences with this group. read more

At this point, I would trust MJ to work on ANYTHING in my home. I would recommend him (and have) to all my close friends and family. I was completely taken advantage of by Rock Plumbing and Heating and was ripped off for thousands of dollars. Upon calling MJ to take a second look, he completed repairs at my home in less than 10 minutes. Almost a week of work from the other company and money spent, and my problem was fixed by MJ in minutes. He is responsible, professional, and will make you feel like you have known him for years. MJ also assisted in education in our furnace so that I won't have to go through something like this again. He truly takes the time and cares that you are comfortable and comprehend what is going on.
