I am spitting mad about this service. They charged us $800 / hour to install a water heater - a $800 water heater amounted to a bill of $4200. They claim no "hidden fees" but they won't tell you up front what amount is the part (the heater) and what amount the labor. When pressed for an explanation, they claim the BBB will stand behind them. We'll see. I"m glad the other reviewer got justice; I'll certainly be seeking it for myself. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Very disappointed. They tried to rip off my elderly neighbor. They reported her entire electrical box in back yard needed to be replaced for over $1000 dollars when all she did was blow a fuse. They were at my house once and two trucks showed up for a minor leak. All they did was try to up sell me on repairs I did not need. It's as if the workers were paid on commission. Can't speak to their plumbing service but this afternoon I watched one of their technicians try to turn his van onto Broadway Blvd and take out a street sign. I followed him to see if he would turn around and he just kept on driving before turning onto a side street. He got out of the van, checked for damage, and then jumped back in and kept on driving in the opposite direction of the accident. For the record, he didn't hit a temporary sign that was hard to see or anything, he hit a metal pole and ripped it right out of the concrete before driving over it. Not cool at all. read more

PRICE GOUGERS!! We had a leaky toilet. We couldn't tell where the leak was coming from - nothing was wet but water would be all over the floor. They charge nearly $50 just to come to your house and DON'T apply that to your repair bill. Then to remove the toilet and repair the leak was an additional $200. We had to turn the water off to the house because our shut off valve wouldn't turn all the way off. To repair that $13 part and 5 minutes of labor - another $313 and if you want the toilet replaced and you let them install their bottom of the line toilet - that's over $800. Had I known how easy replacing the shut off valve was, I would have done it myself. I had a friend install a toilet we bought - cost me a 12 pack of beer. We would never use Plumbline again - what a rip-off company. Do it yourself - Home Depot has excellent employees who can tell you what to do and save you hundreds of dollars. Tom Martino recommends them but I feel he must get a kick back from this rip off company. I won't be using anyone on his referral site either. This was the worse experience and the most expensive ever!! Even lawyers don't charge that much!! read more

He is very personable and made it not such a scary experience. This past August, I called and made an appointment to have Plumbline go to my in-laws and replace a garbage disposal and under-sink pipes. As this was on my dime, I took time out of my day to go to their place and wait for the plumber. 5 minutes AFTER they were due there, Plumbline called and said that something personal had come up for the plumber and he was not going to make it. This is not the service level I would expect from a larger company. The correct answer was "the plumber we had assigned can't make it, but we'll get another one out there ASAP, please excuse the wait." We called another company and made an appointment for the following week which they kept in a very punctual manner. Next, after hearing radio ads for a "free furnace with the purchase of an air conditioner" (we need replacements for both) in November, my wife talked me into calling them to get a price. I arranged for a "comfort advisor" (presumably someone who can take care of our home climate needs as well as recommend new furniture, beds, clothes, etc.) to come to our house for an evaluation and recommendation between 10 A.M. and noon last Saturday. No-call, no-show this time. Plumbing and HVAC are difficult enough to work on and to have worked on. It shouldn't be a battle just to get someone to show up. If I could give it 0 stars I would. My time is very limited dealing with 2 elderly parents and 1 of 2 coworkers recovering from surgery. Called them on 11/10 at 8 am and was told someone would be here between 12-2. At 1:30, they called to tell me they couldn't come out today but would be out tomorrow between 11-1. Let me say that I've dealt with them before and their office staff have always been very professional. Now for the issue: Tech showed up today at 11:45. The problem I had was not complicated - the old rubber boot that connects the pvc pipe from the upstairs bathroom to the pvc cleanout in the basement had become separated due to the basement slab moving. This guy after 20 minutes, comes up with a quote of $600! Really? Do I have stupid written on my face? I specifically asked him about simply replacing the boot - actually, replace both the top and bottom boots. He told me it was "much more complicated than that" I refused and he presents me with a $150 bill. I asked about the $42 service charge, but since he "diagnosed the problem" I owed $150. I paid it, but have half a mind to call my bank and stop payment on the check. I took one of the old boots to ace hardware, paid less than $18 for 2 and installed them myself in less than 10 minutes. I ran the upstairs sink for 10 minutes and never saw 1 drop of water leak. Not only that, he left grease & dirt all over my brand new basement carpet. I sent a letter to Jeff B, the owner. If I could give negative stars, I would. We have a home that was built in 1912 in which we finished the basement. Because of the location of the main, we have a drain pit with a Zoeller high-velocity ejection pump. It's a fairly common set up for these older homes. When we were living in OR about a year ago, we had tenants that were flushing products they shouldn't have flushed down the toilet and ultimately caused $17k in damage to the basement due to raw sewage being spewed throughout. Whatever. Different story for a different time. So my property manager calls Plumbline when the pipe in the house first shows signs of backing up. Some guy from Plumbline comes out and snakes the main and finds some roots. He proceeds to hard sell on a new main for $30k!!! Mind you, there's an active sewage leak in my house that he can't diagnose because "those systems aren't that good and I'm not a licensed plumber." This place lies somewhere between totally inept and completely dishonest. This clown's behavior was comical, yet shameful. It would have been funnier if I hadn't wasted $300 and a day screwing around with them. The correct way to handle the situation would have for them to taken my $300 and told me they don't know to deal with these ejection pumps. Not try to juice for $30k (at least double what a reputable guy can do it for) and NOT FIX AN ACTIVE RAW SEWAGE LEAK. read more

Horrible customer service. Was supposed to have someone come out today to tune up our AC that was newly installed and purchased from plumline last summer. When I made the appointment I had told the rep that the thermostat doesn't seem to be working correct as the temp doesn't change. Called the office when I hadn't heard from anyone abs found out that my appointment was canceled, without anyone speaking to me to confirm it was okay to cancel. I was given the excuse that my appointment was canceled since it was a routine tune up and not an emergency. Not happy with the money spent on a new furnace and AC installed last year, after the hottest part of the summer. And not happy with a thermostat and system that can't cool my house. My elderly parents were bamboozled by this company. My mom called Plumbline because she thought they looked so nice on the television commercial and on the trucks. They were having a very minor problem with one of the toilets (A) that was running water after being flushed. She called Plumbline and they sent a plumber who introduced himself as Brett but had on a nametag with a different name. During the course of his visit he "inspected" their plumbing. He said he was unable to replace the fill valve and the flapper because after testing their water pressure he said it was way too high. It is important to note that he tested the water pressure by holding the gauge under the water heater. He told my mom that he couldn't fix anything until they repaired the water pressure and the old gate valve. He gave them an estimate of over $1000.00. Luckily my mom had the sense to decline the service. She then asked him to look at another toilet (B) because it was not flushing completely and needed to be flushed several times. He went there and opened the tank and fiddled a bit and appeared to have "fixed" the problem as the flushing was now completing on that toilet (B). They paid the service fee and he left. Soon after he left the second toilet (B) began to make a "whooshing" sound every 9 minutes (she counted!). She called his cell number because that was the number on the business card. He said it wasn't his fault and he didn't have time to come back. She said it was most definitely something he had done because it never did that before and only started after he had fiddled with that toilet (B). He said he might be able to come by the next day but that he was really busy. He said he would call but he never did. I am not a plumber but I have replaced the fill valve and the flapper many times and it is quite simple. (I volunteered my services to her for free.) A few days later her handy man came over to look at it. He informed her that the way the Plumbline technician tested the water pressure was not correct and entirely unreliable. He replaced the fill valve and flapper (with the Kohler parts that are unique, which the Plumbline technician never mentioned) and both toilets are now working fine. I also confirmed this information with my cousin who is a certified master plumber in Ohio. He agreed with what the handy man told my mom and in addition he sent me the protocol for testing water pressure because he had never heard of any one testing it on the water heater. I read the protocol to my mom and she said that the Plumbline technician did none of that. My mom followed up with Denver Water and asked about the water pressure. They informed her that her pressure was a little high but was average for her neighborhood and that if she wasn't having any issues with pressure than there was no need to do anything. She told my mom that this was just a ploy that plumbers use to make unnecessary repairs and jack up their prices. I usually try to be at their home when repairmen come just for this reason but I was not able to be there that day. It makes me so mad when businesses take advantage of the elderly. One final point. It is also apparent that my parents have a difficult time with stairs. The Plumbline technician left all of the lights on in the basement and the panel covering the main water valves was left on the floor. This is just poor customer service. read more

This company tried to get me to spend 5600.00to repair sewer main line; I hired a wonderful drain company, Hankel's Drain Cleaning, and for:$140.00 my problem was fixed! I was devastated when I got plumbline, bid. A friend told me to get a bid from a drain cleaner, and I amso glad I did. Plumbline is obviously determined to get as much money as possible from unsuspecting customers. I wish I could file suit for unethical business practices. read more

They came out to my house because my furnace would not ignite, he kept trying to sell me a new furnace for (5500.00) and up, gave me all the scare tactics thinking I would bite. As soon as I said I just wanted it fixed, they gave me a price of $500 to $600 dollars which was high to begin with but I didn't have any heat, so I said ok. next day they came out and said they forgot they needed other parts a told me it would be $1500.00. If this is the way they do business, no thanks! I called a local company and they are installing a new carrier furnace for $2300.00 installed. don't fall for this company, call around and shop pricing these guys are crooks and pray on people in tuff situations!!!!! read more

These guys used to be good, I needed them to certify my air-conditioning for a sale, they put me off for a month, then they cancelled my appointment right before they were supposed to be here. Then they gave me an appointment for 9 the next morning, I saw the van pull up, park, then leave. Nobody even told me what was going on. When I called, they told me he wasn't an air conditioning guy! Excellent service, Clinton Dunn was the technician who serviced our A/C. He found the cause of our circuit breaker tripping and a/c fan shutting down. He even found out that the wires of the circuit breakers were loose and he tightened all of them. This was the fault of the builder though (loose wires). I would highly recommend them for A/C problems. read more

I called Plumbline out ($49 trip charge) to take a look at my furnace as the pilot light went out and would not stay on after manually relighting it. The tech came out and quickly and correctly identified that the issue was with my ignitor. He then quoted me a price of $436 because "it was an expensive part" and started to talk to me about signing up for service plans. Feeling like I was being hard sold to I decided to google the cost of igniters and found then to be between $26-$70. I made a call to Classic Heating & Air and they told me that they could do it for much cheaper as this is a simple plug in part and could be fixed in under 20 minutes. I sent Plumbline home and eventually got it fixed through Classic Plumbing & Heating for $190 (It took them less than 20 mins to install the part). I hope my $49 trip charge expense is not wasted and people read this and save themselves from being ripped off like I almost was. Shame on you Plumbline. read more

I thought I was going to have a Saturday appointment Which was changed to Sunday then Sunday was changed to Monday. Then Monday's appointment time was changed. The man finally arrived. What I thought would be an easy fix turned out to be a joke. All the rep did was tell how much it would be by the way was triple of what I had it done for after I told him I didn't want his services. We used Plumbline to replace completely our heating and air conditioning systems. They aren't cheap, but they are very professional and we had a large team show up to complete the job on schedule. We even sealed the innards of our 30 year old air distribution system, and that made a HUGE difference in air flow; they helped balance the heat and cooling throughout all 3 stories of the home, we got right with the building inspectors, and this was a great team to work with. I will continue to go to Plumbline for not just my HVAC needs, but they are now my go-to folks for electrical and hot water heating when those times come. Worst company I've ever dealt with as a property manager. We have used Plumbline for several projects and it's been a horrible experience. They don't stick to what they're quoting you. We were told about $200 to replace a garbage disposal and then were billed for $650. More than half of our appointments have been missed or rescheduled at the last minute. They don't send invoices in a timely manner. Send the wrong technicians out that do not have the right expertise/equipment to handle the job we explained to them in detail. Icing on the cake that triggered me to write this review was talking to an extremely unpleasant person named "Ali" on the phone. I needed some clarification on just 3 invoices we had from a series of repairs at one of our rental homes. Only 2 of the invoices were ever sent to us and the dates were wrong, so I called and asked Ali to please confirm the service dates for the invoices I did have and send me the 3rd. Very simple and I know she had that information handy because she told me for the first invoice and it took 30 seconds. When I asked for the same information from the 2nd invoice, she got very short with me and proceeded to tell me that she didnt have time to talk to me anymore. Are you serious??? Last week, we had an underground leak in a vault that we needed to fix, and I called Plumbline and they told me that they could not use a simple sump pump to pump out the water to look at it. I hired another company to pump out the vault before a scheduled appointment with plumbline. The other company, who we were paying to be there, was out there all day waiting, and plumbline never showed. They rescheduled for tomorrow and showed up 2 hours late and the technician told me that he was not certified to go underground. Plumbline knew they would have to go underground so why did they send that guy??? Hours later....they send someone else out who was useless and said they just didnt know what was wrong. Then they billed us $400! For nothing! This company has been so unprofessional and made my job so hard. Never using these guys again. read more

Had my AC repaired on Sunday 6/29/14 and I was supposed to be charged about $570. Instead I was charged over $5,700. I received a voicemail at 7am on 7/1/14 that literally said "hi, this is Lea please call me" and that was it. Instead of resolving the issue and leaving me a voicemail with the seriousness of the issue, no one did anything until I tried to pay a contractor for his work that night and the card declined. Since then, they have stuck to their guns about how they did everything they could by leaving me a generic voicemail. I have not received an apology and no one has attempted to expedite a credit or even seems to grasp the seriousness of this issue except my credit card company who has apologized many times and told me they will make sure that this issue is resolved. read more

I have paid Plumbline $159 for nothing. Still have a leak 3 weeks later. Apparently they are waiting on a part, yet I question this in the days of overnight delivery. Never get an answer, never get a call. The only thing I hear is that "we are still waiting on the part". I live in a large townhouse community where I would assume there would be a plethora of the same plumbing parts used, yet I have one that would need to be manufactured, perhaps? I was won over after a couple of experiences. I had called for my furnace tune-up, but that was bumped because they had too many emergency situations with the cold and people without heat. I still need to reschedule that, but in the meantime I had a plumbing situation that needed immediate attention. On the Plumbing issues.... Marc came out and was great. Friendly, courteous, and willing to work with me a bit, I signed up for their one year package for about $100 that gave me some discounts and other benefits. The next step that he recommended was more expensive than I was ready for (and I had a feeling wasn't necessary), so what I did was call the dispatcher at Plumbline and ask for a second opinion. They said that was a-okay, especially since I had signed up for their preferred customer package. The second opinion was done by Paul, he was professional and even though we didn't know for sure if he would be able to fix the issue without the more expensive option, he actually did and it saved me hundreds! I forgot to use a coupon I had and they were nice enough to let me use it the next day. The people in accounting were extremely nice as well. I wanted to go out of my way to give them a positive review and I'll use them again. read more

DO NOT USE !! After years of using them for simple plumbing line problems we had the come out to replace a pressure valve on a boiler. They charged over $800 for less than an hour of time and $50 in parts . They totally took advantage of my wife since I was at a conference and gouged us. I was in the market for a new A/C system to replace the original system in our house which was nearing the end of its useful life. I found out about Plumbline through a representative at a local hardware store. I called to set an appointment on a Friday and they arrived promptly. The representative took considerable time and provided detailed answers to my questions. I was very impressed with their warranties and the products they offered. The process was painless and we agreed on terms to have the new system installed and old one removed on Monday. The installers arrived first thing Monday morning as scheduled and the entire process went very smooth. By 5 pm, I had a new system, ventilation improvements on the 2nd floor and had the ducts sealed with their Air Seal process. What a difference and what great service! They have cancelled on me twice in one month. I scheduled a furnace tune-up and got a call the day before that they did not have enough techs to make my job. I appreciated the notice, and was pleased that they offered to waive the tune up fee for the inconvenience. At the second appointment, they called me ten minutes before to cancel. The reason was "too many emergency calls," which I can appreciate might strain their services. But ten minutes notice is insulting; especially since I had to take time off work to drive home and meet them. Certainly they could have anticipated that I might need to be rescheduled earlier. Clearly they have a staffing issue, because they can't seem to get it together and hire enough techs to cover their scheduled calls. One cancellation is OK, two is not. I won't even bother to call and schedule a third because I have no confidence in their ability to follow-through and actually make the appointment. Even a free tune-up is not worth working with this company. read more
