Wish I had read the reviews prior to using. Approx 2 years ago we called them to cap off a natural gas line as we had them do work for us previously with no issue. After the first attempt, and the techs gas detectors batteries not working, we could still smell the gas in the house, which we did not have prior. After having them come back and the tech ensuring it was not leaking we moved on. 2 years later, we are doing duct work and notice the same smell. Call plumb line and was advised to call excel energy and the would check for a leak. The tech came out and verified the leak was from the work plumb line did, appears the plumb line tech did not fully tighten the cap, allowing a small natural gas leak in my sub floor for the approximately 2 years. Called and emailed plumb line since the gas inspection no call back, no email, other than the standards will reach out to you in 5-10 minutes, that was yesterday. Nothing they can do at this point but a call would be great. If you use them for gas related services, make sure xcel comes out to check for leaks afterwards. read more

These guys are the biggest ripoff ever! They wanted $400 to install a value to bring me to code. I was able to fix my issue for $2. The guys they send out are better trained to quote you rediculously high prices and un-needed work/parts/replacements than they are to actually perform what needs to be done. I've gone round and round with them many times and now, an issue that I thought was fixed last winter with my new furnace that they installed, has popped up again. Stay away! read more

My husband I called Plumbline Services when our 75 gallon hot water tank broke. We did not get a second estimate because it was a highly rated company and a Google guaranteed company and because it was a bit of an emergency. Plumbline charged us $6,919.51. There were additional inflated costs because we have a water softening system, but for the water tank and installation alone, the company charged us $4,111.80 for a water tank that I Googled later and costs $1,414.99 online. Our water pressure steadily declined over the next month and we now have no water. The company said that they would send a technician between 10:30 and 1:00 today and my husband called them back several times when they did not show up. Now they say they won't be able to come until tomorrow. We have no water, not even drinking water. I will never use this business. I scheduled service on an AC unit for service in June. I made the appointment 4-6 weeks prior. On the day of the service they called to say that they could not make it that day. I asked then when? They said in another 6 weeks. I guess they cannot keep their word. I called another service and I got in in less that a week. Maybe the smaller accounts do not mean anything to this company. If you cannot keep an appointment, what can they keep. WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. read more

Poor customer service, don't value their customer's time. They have canceled on me two times now. First time they called right before my time slot to tell me they were not showing up but promised for the rescheduled date they would make it. Second attempt, called during my time slot to tell me they would be delayed by up to 2 hours. Finally after waiting 5 hours I called them was put on hold only to be told they were going to no show again. read more

Plumbline is running TV ads in the Denver metro area promoting $93 drain clean-out for "ANY DRAIN." Well, it turns out that's not true, and I would give 0 stars if that was an option. I have my main line cleaned out a couple of times a year by another company for more than $93, so I thought I would take advantage of this rate. I called to schedule, but before scheduling I wanted to know specifically if my longer-than-average line of 150 feet would really cost just $93. I was told it would be more, and was transferred to the voice mail of someone who would supposedly call me back with the price. A few days went by with no call, then I got a call from the scheduler asking if I still wanted to schedule service. I explained that I hadn't heard from the person who was supposed to call me back with the price. The scheduler said the service tech would come out and "discuss pricing with you." Why would I waste my time on an appointment without knowing the price? This is not a service that has variables, other than the length of the line to be rotored. I knew the length of my line, having had it rotored numerous times, so why is Plumbline unable to give me a price upfront? Very deceptive practice as well as deceptive advertising. read more

I had issues with the specifications of my quote and how much I would be charged. Plumbline followed up when I expressed my displeasure and made some amends; they are self-described as "not the cheap guy" and they are right about that. I bought a water heater from Plumbline six years ago. After having an inspection of my furnace and hot water heater I was told I needed to replace the expansion tank because it did not have any air in it and needed to replace the gate valve because it was corroded. I called Plumbline on 12/7/2021 and spoke to Sherry on the phone and was told she would make an appointment and have someone come out and replace the parts at no cost to me. Johnathan, the tecincian came out and looked at the parts and told me it would cost me $869. I told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor and so Mat supervisor got on the speaker phone and called me a liar and told me he listened to the call I had with Sherry and she never said they would replace the parts free of charge. He also told me parts wear out with time and he told me he did not see a reason to replace the parts at no cost to me. I asked who his supervisor was and he told me the president of the company. He was rude and nasty and told his technician to back up and leave. After calming down I called Plumbline back and asked to speak to Sherry. I was told she was at lunch and she told me she would help me. Her name was Kelly and listened to my complaint and told she would connect me with the President of the company and his name was Bob Logan. She also told me he would return my phone call. I left him a brief message and asked him to please call me back and never heard back from Bob Logan. I also called last week and told the person who answered the phone my problems and was told Mat (not the supervisor of the technician I spoke with) would absolute call me back that morning. To this day I have never gotten a call back from Anyone from Plumbline. They advertise people need to feel Comfort deal with Plumbline and Tom Martino recommends them highly. My dealings with Plumbline were anything but Comforting. Bait and switch. They offered a hot water heater installed for $899. The final bill was over $1600. I had company coming to dinner that night so I was in a jam and had to take the deal. If you need your problem fixed, don't bother calling these guys. They don't keep their appointments. I have used Plumbline for 25 years. My main drain in the basement plugged up over the weekend. We restricted water usage until I could get a plumber here. So I call Plumbline this morning, (Mon), told them what was going. The earliest time I could get was Weds. at 3pm. Two days they expect us not to flush toilets or run any water. They did agree to send someone out today so I waited til he came at 5pm. But all he could do was write up what he saw that was wrong. I still was going to have to wait. I was not told he was just coming to look at my problem - not fix it. After he left I called Done! Plumbing and they were here in an hour and a half and fix my drains. I will call Done! I would suggest to stay away from this company. They couldn't find a water leak in my house. The guy spent a bit over an hour in my house, cut 2 openings in the ceiling and could not find a problem. He wanted to cut one more opening, but it would be one more hour of his time, and I was not ready to pay extra $150 and have one more opening in the ceiling, so I just asked him to go. He left without finding a problem, charged me $150 and left 2 openings in the ceiling that I had to pay someone $300 to fix. So, $450 for nothing!!!!!! Also, he said that he would charge $600 (!!!!!) for a gasket and $900(!!!!!) to replace the drain if he finds one or another to be a problem while he was chopping my house. So, in a way, I am glad he didn't find a problem. Oh boy, never call these people!!!!!!! I ended up using a handyman recommended by co-worker, who found and fixed the problem for $50. read more

Very unimpressive for a business that is BBB approved and has so many local advocates that back them. First, they missed their appointment time. When I called them to ask where the guy was that should have shown up an hour before, he said "we called to cancel your appointment and left a voicemail". That never happened. I told them I needed someone to come by. They said they would send someone. The guy gets to my house for a $39 AC tuneup and says "your unit is leaking coolant and needs to be replaced". He said $10,000-20,0000 to replace. I asked how much it was to find the leak and refill my system. It would cost $600 for them to EVEN ENTER my attic where part of the AC is. Then $600 to find the leak, and $600 to fill the system. To get to my attic: 9 stairs to my top level, and 4 stairs of a ladder to a full platform attic. Crazy. Knowing this seems like a rip off, I paid my $39 and had him on his way. I called a local MAJOR competitor of theirs, ARS rescue rooter. $99 to find the leak, no extra charge to walk up 14 steps. Similar charge for coolant. I used a smaller company to do the whole thing and it cost me $280. They found the leak, fixed it, filled my system up with coolant and gave me a 1 year warranty. I understand: large business, larger costs, larger fees. But come on, you guys are over charging your customers! I won't use them again. read more

I called this company to service/repair my AC. Pretty much the same as I am reading from everyone they are way over priced, and took advantage of my ignorance regarding the AC. I take full blame for falling for there shady practices because I wanted my AC working. They charged me a trip fee which was not mentioned when I called for the appointment, and $600 to replace a capacitor. I also had some leaking in the furnace room the guy said he didn't think was the AC. I found the leak after the guy left and it was definitely from the AC cooling coil in the furnace (it was freezing then thawing with a lot of extra water on the floor). After looking online I realize I could have done it myself or had a private contractor do the job for between $150-$200. Don't call these guys for anything unless you want to be ripped off. They are smooth operators with a con-man sort of approach. read more

In a day and age when it seems nobody cares I feel I was lucky to have found this great company. I was just home from major surgery when my AC quit working. Called my usual AC company and it would be a week before they could look at it. I already knew my furnace/AC was old so made a call to Plumbline for replacement and they sent a salesman the next day, which was a Saturday. They were there two days latter and replaced my whole HVAC system. Cannot say enough good about how smooth this whole process was. My surgery had kept me pretty immobile but that never effected the guys from Plumbline. A great crew installed my new furnace and AC. The service tech Austin is probably the best tech I've ever had, really knows his stuff. Yes Plumbline costs more than some other service companies but they are worth every penny. Get another bid! We recently ran out of water. Our normal plumber came over and said it was a Thermacuple but he had another job he was headed to. We called Plumbline. They came, only slightly after the time promised. I said it was thermocoupler, but we also wantedto replace the old50 Gal heater anyway. He quoted Approx: $3500 to just replace what we had, $6,000 for a power vented one and $7500 t0 8500 for on demand. I said that seemed high, since you can get one at home depot for $800 to $1,000. John said that Home Depot "only sells seconds" . We also needed a flapper for one toilet. He said it would only take a second since he had one in the truck. 5 min later it was replaced. Charge $155.79. Since I was dumb enough not to ask, I paid it even though it seemed excessive. He wrote up quote for power vent $6,000 and went down to set up the heater for us until he could come back. Came back up and said it was not the Thermocoupler, even though we were getting gas and it just wouldn't stay lit. but a gas valve of over $400 , so he did not fix it. So we had no hot water. Rethought his pricing and called another plumber who came out and said yes it was the Thermocoupler and fixed it and then quoted us $3200 for a new 92% efficient 50 Galleon power vent gas heater. No only were the Plumbline prices prices high, but he flat lied to me. Ralph E read more

I scheduled a plumber for the afternoon, but got a call in the morning that I would be the next customer. I explained that this was a surprise, because I had scheduled an afternoon appointment. I cancelled appointments, re-arranged my day and waited. Two hours later I called to find out where the plumber was, since I had been "the next customer" for two hours. Ruby, the scheduler told me that yes, I was next, but the plumber was entitled to another hour to show up. So I waited. After that additional hour had expired, I called again. "We'll send someone right over," they said. I explained that I was trying to be accommodating but that my time for the day was running out. I was willing to give them one more chance, and since the plumber was in a location that was 30 minutes away, I said, "ok, send him over." After that 30 minutes elapsed I got a call from the plumber who said he would be another 30-40 minutes before he would get there, at which point I simply cancelled. Plumbline ruined my day and cost me money. But I guess they have enough customers that my business simply wasn't important to them. read more

FOR PLUMBING SERVICES I GIVE 5 STARS!! They were amazing. This review is for the furnace. When we were having issues with our furnace last year, someone came out and did a good job and fixed it. Just this past weekend, we needed service again. The technician they sent appeared to know what he was doing. However, he made a serious mistake and it burned up our blower and our circuit board. We found this because that night, we smelled burning in our bedroom (clearly the devices were burning). We called again on Saturday and they came out. That is when we found the issue. This technician definitely knew what he was doing. THAT IS WHERE IT STOPPED. His attitude was deplorable. When my husband finished it out with him, he said "We are stuck with you guys for a year, but your house is dangerous". We live in a 100 year old home. We love our home, granted the attic is probably not the best. That said, no other worker has ever complained. When I called the management today, they never returned my call. AGAIN, NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE FOR YOUR FURNACE. read more

Initially contacted Plumbline to have an outlet switch installed and to have their $21 whole home electrical inspection done on my house. The appointment was set for 12-5 pm on July 3. After taking time off from work to be available, I got a call midway through the appointment window saying the service tech was tied up on another job and couldn't make it. They did not have another technician to send so had to reschedule. They offered a $50 gift card towards my service for the inconvenience. I definitely was not happy about having my time wasted like that, and thought they should have a better scheduling system to handle situations like this, but I accepted the gift card and had to wait for a follow-on appointment until July 9. On July 9, the technician arrived towards the end of the 8am-1pm scheduling window. He looked at the switch I wanted installed and began the whole home inspection. While out at my main electrical box, it appeared to him that my house was not grounded properly to the earth. The only visible grounding source was to our water pipes, and it was his thought that we needed another source. The cost was over $900 to install two ground rods and connect them to the box. He also suggested a whole home surge protector for installation in our electrical box. I agreed to all those initially, and assumed he could complete the work that day based on his comments. However, after I agreed to the work, it turned out he had a doctors appointment that afternoon and he had to leave to make the appointment so couldn't start anything. Again, not happy with Plumbline's scheduling process, however, we worked out a time for him to come again on July 10. Overnight, I did more research into the grounding issue and found out my neighbors were set up the same way our house was. The houses were all built in 2009 and passed inspection, so I couldn't figure out how our house could not be properly grounded. I read online about tests that could supposedly be run by electricians to determine if a house is properly grounded or not. When the technician arrived on Friday morning, I asked about doing the test for grounding. He told me that the test was difficult and the equipment to do it was expensive, so the company didn't maintain that equipment. Therefore, there was no way to do the test. That meant I had to either do nothing or shell out almost $1,000 to have grounding added that I might not need. I elected to do nothing and leave our grounding set up as it existed. The technician then started the work. While installing the switch outlet, he got the hot wire too close to the new switch he was installing. There was a spark and a pop with the new switch casing getting singed and tripping the circuit breaker to the room the switch was in. After that, the rest of the installation went okay with the switch and the whole home surge protector. I then paid the technician for the work that was done, although I never got to really see an itemized invoice for each step (that's my bad). Once the invoice was emailed to me after the technician left, I found that he had forgotten to remove one of the charges for the grounding work that wasn't done meaning I overpaid by $111. It took until July 13 to reach the right people to fix the issue, but Plumbline is refunding the $111. Overall, not happy with Plumbline's scheduling and I think their prices are on the high side after seeing the final invoice. As an example, the whole home surge protector parts were probably around $200-$250, but the total charge to me was around $675. Again, my bad on that though for not doing enough research upfront. Also, not sure how a company can recommend almost $1,000 in work for something they can't really prove needs to be done. read more

Hmm...can't find my original report I filed on these guys, which details what went down regarding a $600+ charge to fix a leaky toilet. I called 'em out big time (I used to work with Fluidmaster and know the plumbing industry). In any case, they manned up, called my sis-in-law who was gouged, and low 'n behold, Plumb Line Services issued a complete refund. Thanks guys. I'm impressed. I'll be more impressed if I don't see any more complaints about price gouging here or on RipOffReport.com, where I've deleted my negatory review. I'll leave it with this: the business model you cite, where you call out expenses, overhead, labor, blah, blah... Guess what? That's the price of doing business. Consumers beware! Do not use this company for plumbing services. They have no integrity and are lacking in customer service. I feel very taken by the way they do business. A couple years ago, I had them do a couple services to help with backup problems. Then a smooth talking representative came over to talk about mainline replacement and an installment plan. I felt manipulated, but needed help. Misplaced trust on my part. I was taken for $7000.The problem that has resurfaced again, is how they ruined my sprinkler system. At the time, I called to complain about this, was shuffled around, then told that they were not responsible and can't predict where the bucket would land. I believed at the time I was told not to worry about my sprinklers. They denied this. Very poor customer surface. The problem resurfaced again, when I just called sprinkler people out, was told the system was totally destroyed and would cost $3000 to repair. read more

I was dissappointed in my experience with Plumbline Services. What happened: - The technician arrived 90 minutes later than the 2 hour window Plumbline provided. - The technician, who had a rather creepy demeanor overall, asked me several inappropriate questions about our neighbors, including what their names were, what they did for a living, and how often they were away from home. None of this had anything to do with my service call. - After a fairly quick diagnosis of our furnace problem, the technician sat down, pulled out his pad and paper, and...proceeded to sell me "Silver", "Gold", or "Platinum" service plans. He did not provide any information about the problem with my furnace until I asked him to stop talking about the service plans and, rather, to discuss my issue specifically. - He quoted $850 for replacement of a seized blower motor, a quote that quote came right out of his printed handbook. We received a competing quote the next day at $500. On a positive note, the $37.50 service call fee seems competitive, and Plumbline was able to get someone to our home on the day we called. Overall, however, I was not impressed with the company's showing and, frankly, am a little disturbed that the technician may be casing my neighbor's house. read more

My floor drain backed up and Plumbline came out to take a look. They got their camera stuck in my line and wanted me to pay for them to jack hammer the concrete to get their camera out. Plumbline charged $5,400 to replace a 15' sewer line after reporting it was disintegrated. While the contract said the replaced concrete would be a "rough patch" I still expected a patch that was semi-professional but it was horrible. They tried to upsell me on replacing more of the line and became very short with me when I refused. I was told insurance would cover everything and they became impatient when I told them I wanted to consult my insurance company first. To cap it all off, the replaced line was installed with a vent that is directly in front of my water heater. I pointed out to them that the location of the vent would inhibit the eventual replacement of the water heater and they told me I could call them to address it at that time. I'm disappointed that they tried to upsell me and did not do the job right. If it wasn't for my need for a camera in the first place, I could have done the job myself for a fraction of the cost and done it the right way. In the end, it is my own fault for being played by a sales person but I recommend finding a better company that is there to do the job right and for a fair price. I paid for an expensive lesson in learning that Plumbline is there to do the job cheap and quick, charge the customer a premium, and try to upsell the customer for more work. read more
