Easily one of the best places for a drink. Interestingly, the Bozeman location is very similar to the Missoula location and it's all a good thing. Ambiance is dimly lit and relaxed, crafted cocktails are interesting and high quality, and service is efficient, personal, and not hovering. We went to Plonk end of October early November and were blown away with the whole restaurant, food, and service! Our waitress was Madelyn and she was amazing. My husband ordered the hanger steak and I ordered the halibut. Both were fabulous and cooked to perfection. We shared a salad and that was stellar. The ambiance was so cozy. The steak salad was a "masterpiece" and both the plonk cosmo and the gin and juice were fabulous. The flatbread was good but there was some form of citrus that was a little overwhelming for me. I have fond memories of how great Plonk was 10 years ago, but unfortunately it continues to disappoint. I went in late Saturday night and sat at the bar to grab a glass of wine and some food. I ordered the Sardines, which were described as preserved spanish sardines, saltines, roasted red pepper tapenade, and whole grain mustard, and the carolina bbq fried poussin, described as buttermilk brined 1/2 chicken carolina bbq sauce and cabbage slaw. The sardines were literally just an opened can of sardines with a small garnish, some saltines, and a dollop of grain mustard. The chicken was even worse as it was almost inedible. It was cold, overly breaded, soggy, and the sauce was off-putting. There was also very little meat inside the soggy breading. The service was inattentive and there was no comment when I said I was finished with the chicken and it was obvious that I had not eaten more than 1 bite. I used to recommend Plonk to anyone who asked about a good place to eat downtown. I'm a little saddened that I can't do that anymore. 2 stars just because of the good memories. read more

Came here for happy hour- this place is cute inside and the staff are really nice... we tried the cheese board and it was a lot for 2 people, it would have been nice if there was some honey or jam or olive oil to go with it so it's not so dry but other than that it was all great. We had just gotten off a flight and we're checking in to the hostel late back in August. We just walked here from next door and were completely under dressed but the staff made us feel totally welcomed. We split the cheese plate and gnocchi, which was interesting. It looks like a super small portions at first but we were stuffed! It was the perfect amount. The bartenders that waited on us were so nice, helpful, and friendly... they also had great hair which is a total side bar. This place seems like a great spot for a girls wine night or a date night! Awesome happy hour from 3-5 each day. Great place to hang out and have a few cocktails and light snacks before dinner somewhere else. I've also been here for dinner and everything I tried was great. Cheeseboard is always the move. Cocktails are hit or miss, the coconut lime one is 10/10, I recently had a spicy tequila one that just tasted watered down and meh. My prosecco with pomegranate was perfectly refreshing. The cheese and meat plate was delicious. I loved the Brie and the other semi soft cheese. I'm not a blue cheese fan, but the other two were delicious. The three meats paired well with the cheeses, mustard and cornichons. The baguette was crispy but fresh and chewy. Staying at the Lark nearby and this establishment is the poorest I've ever seen. The menu selection doesn't appease to but a select few. The quality of how their food is sourced is questionable at best. I've called several times and can't even speak to someone on the phone for a take-out order. Their answering service says their open from 3p to 'close'. And close could be 1a or 8p. All depends on whether they feel like working or not. There's no set hours whatsoever. I'm absolutely beyond the point to even consider this place a business at all. The taco truck is better. read more

This is for a walk in, sit at the front tables for wine/apps/dessert type of night. The hostess was our waitress and she was AMAZING. So friendly, so on top of it, we never lacked anything. Their wine selection is very unique but fun. They include dessert wines, besides for ports, that are worth a try. Good whiskey selection, fairly priced for the pour. The lamb tartar is excellent IF you like lamb. It comes on 4 small buckwheat crackers with an aioli and syrup vinaigrette on top. It comes with a pinch of salt on top and it's very balanced. The peanut chocolate bar is VERY rich, it's basically a play on an elevated deconstructed PB&J. It was too rich for us, when you get the bites with the salted peanuts it becomes more balanced. I had the Dopff & Irion sparkling wine which was light and was given a generous pour. I also had a glass of the Madiera and it could have been a dessert on it's own. We stopped here on the way out of town from visiting Yellowstone. This place was opened late even on a Tuesday, which was awesome because we got into town late and a lot of other places were closed. The ambiance was unique and very cool. Every cocktail we tried was amazing and the bar whipped them up very fast considering how delicious they were. The food was also excellent and unique. I was initially worried about the service because it's a sit anywhere you like type of place, but after we sat down our server checked in immediately and was literally so awesome all night. It was busy and she still checked in frequently and made awesome recommendations. I would highly recommend and definitely go back! read more
