Waaaaaayyyyy overpriced. $3.99 for a kids grilled cheese (that was not even really cooked, they were cold) served in a little styrofoam container. Charging a ridiculous price for things AND destroying the environment all at the same time, great! 5 frozen, cheap onion rings in another styrofoam container for $4.50???? Wow. Falafel pita gyro at $9.50 is laughable as that gyro anywhere else is $7 max. Once again served in a giant styrofoam container. Bulgogi ban mi had About half of the meat from anywhere else's banh mi and was twice the price? Really?? They charge $.40 for a water after price gouging you for a $40 lunch of poor quality. Their parking lot will give you brain damage. Pros: The pita falafel gyro tasted good. Clean bathroom Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE. Kids grilled cheese was way over priced and was not cooked properly. So it looks like this place took over the gyro and sub shop, and they still serve some of the staples. I can't speak to whether the quality of the gyros are the same (my husband and I used to love them) since we ate the banh mi's this time, but we will most certainly give them a try in the future. Now for the vietnamese drinks and food! We are so happy that Thornton finally got a place like this! Somewhere where we can stop in and quickly grab some boba and tea (rather than going into a pho restaurant). I had the Mason jar passion fruit pleasure which was both tasty and refreshing. We visited this rather new restaurant for lunch and it was well worth the drive. We split the following: - Grilled Pork Bánh Mì Sandwich - Bulgogi Bánh Mì Sandwich - French Fries WOW! WOW! WOW! This was the first time we ever had a Vietnamese Sandwich and we were both blown away by how good they tasted! Both of them came with cucumber, pickled daikon, carrots, jalapenos and cilantro. Even the french fries were great, I'm not sure what they seasoned them with, but we loved them! There was no doubt they were made fresh using only the best ingredients. I've been coming to Plentea since they first opened. Every time i go, Jenny is so welcoming! And their customer service is great. I've have their drinks and it's great that you can modify the sweetness levels. My favorite drinks by far are the fresh fruit teas, they have tiny cut up fruits every sip. My hubs loves the Vietnamese coffee, always the perfect sweetness and wakes him right up. We've tried a variety to things but our goto is definitely the banh mi! And the popcorn chicken. I have tried the chicken gyro a couple times, that is always yummy. Huge gyro!! I feel like the owners are really making an effort to making the inside look nice. They have been adding murals and decorations. Definitely a few spots to take Instagram photos. Some of the decorations is a little kitchy, very unique. This is the second time I've tried this place and I've been disappointed twice. The prices are expensive and the service is really slow. This time I came back because we wanted to try the cute take home Mason jar drinks that were advertised. They were advertised in a cute glass Jar with a lid. I asked about them last time we came and we returned specifically for them. The photo is what we got. We waited for 15 minutes for the drink and when it came out I didn't think it was mine since it looks nothing like the photo. I asked and they said they stopped serving them in the jars because they were too complicated. Let me note this drink cost me almost $10. The only reason I paid that was because I thought I was getting the cute jar. At the very least they could have warned me there was no jar when I ordered. Compared to other shops like Happy Lemon, Kung Fu Tea, and Paris Bahn Mi, Plentea bubble tea drinks cost about the same or more but for smaller size drink cups. I just took the train to Boba town. My new favorite quick stop shop. Great food, great bobas and refreshers. I would definitely try one of the specialty sandwiches over the fried food - you can get that anywhere. Sometimes you will get the hard boba depending on how cold the drink is and how long it has been sitting waiting for pickup-delivery. But that's just life right, a crapshoot. That being said, things that I liked: - The person helping was very kind and attentive. - small mom/pop shop, I love supporting small business. - I ordered 2 tropical refreshers, one passion fruit tea with boba, and one mango with rainbow jelly. 4.5/5 the drinks hit the spot, just a tad on the sweet side. Things that need more opportunity: - Ordered the Plentea Banh Mi, what came inside the banh mi was great! Although, the baguette left a lot to be desired, it was a little on the soggy side. Granted, I did take it home to eat, but a good baguette should be toasted, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. - Last note, I believe I was overcharged. 2 large drinks with 1 topping each should amount to 5.50 per drink, the banh mi was 5.45. Okay, 16.45 + tax. The person helping was very kind but seemed a little flustered when ringing out the total. It came to $23 and some change. I was surprised by the total but didn't want to embarrass the person working, so I paid it. (Upgrading to a digital POS would make it easier for the cashier and for the customer, and creating a rewards system would be a good idea) I believe 3 stars is a fair review, I genuinely would like to see this small mom/pop shop succeed, but in order to improve, they need to know their opportunities! Was browsing for something new and refreshing- to change it up a bit from all the pizza and fried food. I came across this place leaving work and looked it up and was immediately drawn to it. My boyfriend and I walked in, and he was in a little of a bummed mood not too into trying something very new, and it all changed as soon as we walked in! We ordered two large taro milk teas with added boba ($5.00 plus $.50 for boba), I ordered the falafel pita with taziki, and he the chicken parmesan sandwich. The milk tea came out in about 3-4 minutes and was delicious! Not a lot of ice and a good size, well worth the money. We waited maybe 12-ish minutes for food. They do not come with sides, but luckily it was a good amount. The falafel was filled with flavor and the taziki sauce is amazing! The chicken part came with chunks of blackened chicken and melted cheese and a toasted bun. GREAT! The place filled up with guests as soon as we sat down, and each order was coming out in a very timely manner. The seating is scarce, but enough. Very very clean and the atmosphere really is a fun and upbeat place. Relaxed to a point I wouldnt mind doing some school work in there like a coffee shop. The clean up was easy. The food came in plastic containers and it's a self clean like Panera with a small place with hot sauces, ketchups, straws, etc. Overall I am very pleased with Plentea and 100% will be going back and recommending this place to everyone I know. However, as good as it was, I would say the sandwich and pita could use a little more filling. Today I was told about a new boba location that just opened up right near me so I decided to gather my troops and try it out. They have not only boba but macaroons Bahn Mi sandwiches and other foods. It's super cute and the young lady in the front is very nice. The boba pearls weren't what I am use to. My kiddos like theirs but did say they were sweeter then usual.
