I popped into Pleantea because I was looking for treat to beat the heat. I walked into a quiet, tidy cafe with some small group seating available. They have a lot of options on their menu. If you need a moment, they'll give you one and direct you to ring the bell on the counter or order at their kiosk when ready. The tea refreshers here were the perfect thing for a hot day. I ordered them with brown sugar which made them like a sweet tea, but I think they'd be just as delicious without the sweetener too. Add it or leave it out depending on your sweet tooth. Plentea also offers snacks, sandwiches and desserts. I'm always pleasantly surprised when a boba shop also offers prepared snacks, let alone food! . Gyros and Bahn Mi sandwiches. The restaurant is small and cute. They have some board games, which is a nice touch. For a drink, I mixed berry refresher was excellent. I loved the fruit, jelly, and chia seeds inside. It wasn't overly sweet or artificial tasting. I am excited to come back and try more drinks. I also ordered the mozzarella sticks. Not bad. Not great. I wanted the calamari, but they were out. I really wanted to love this, but they were unsure of the caffeine level in their drinks, and I get migraines when I have too much caffeine. I got the vanilla bean milk tea with boba, and I'm not suffering any ill effects, thankfully. But I would have preferred to know what was caffeinated or not to be sure, instead of rolling the dice. The drinks are otherwise very customizable, including the sugar level and the ice level. They have tons of options for hot, iced, and blended drinks and snack food options. We tried the Thai tea and the vanilla bean boba, and both were delicious. They have an event this weekend where they are serving ice cream and waffles, which sounded really good! No one was in the restaurant when we got there and we ordered a gyro, fries and popcorn chicken to go. 45 minutes later (?) the order was ready. 45 MINUTES. It should be fresh and piping hot. WOW. WRONG. The gyro meat seemed like it had been cooked over and over two days ago, the pita was so hard on the edges I couldn't chew through it, the fries were cold and I think the popcorn chicken came from some other kind of animal they pulled apart in the back and salted so nastily. Their drinks are really expensive and they trick you with all their coupons where the prices advertised are for cash only purchases. Very deceiving and sneaky. This place has really gone down hill. My husband ordered online and showed up right around when the food was scheduled to be done. He was told that the staff "didn't see" the online order, but would start it right away and it would be 10 minutes. 20 minutes later a couple that ordered after he arrived received their food, as he continued to wait. When the food was finally ready, the girl ran it out, quickly dropped it on the counter, and ran right into the back before my husband could say anything. Their online ordering menu supposedly makes vegan options very clear, but they actually (consistently) put cheese and mayo on dishes that are labeled as vegan. When I asked if the feta was fake cheese on the vegan falafel, the person working the front ran back to find out, and then said yes! It's pasteurized milk! Decided to stop by since it's a block from where my kid was training. I ordered coffee, mega mango, a strawberry mojito, and a popcorn chicken. Took 20 mins to get my drinks/food. There were a few people ahead of me, and it seemed like one person running the store at that time. My Vietnamese coffee barely had any coffee taste to it. It tasted like instant coffee with lots of milk. The strawberry mojito has this weird syrupy carbonated taste in it, both were so gross. My $7 popcorn chicken was burnt and dry! The best Gyro I've ever had was at a Weezer concert. There was a food truck parked inside the venue, and it was delicious. Since that day I've been on the hunt for a delicious Gyro. All other places didn't meet the standards that the food truck set for me (except my mom's homemade gyros and taziki, but I need instant gratification...). My girlfriend wanted a gyro and I was down to try a new place. Who knows. Maybe it would meet my expectations. We jumped on Yelp and decided to try Plentea. I'm glad we did. While I don't think I will ever find that food truck at the Weezer concert ever again, this place makes the second best Gyro I've ever had. I'm partial to chicken gyros, so that's what I opted for. This was delicious. The taziki sauce wasn't too watery either, which seems to be a downfall in some other establishment's taziki sauce. The trick is to salt the shredded cucumber and let it sit for a little, then squeeze it gently over the sink to extract the water, cucumbers hold tons of water. I don't know if this place does that, but the taziki wasn't watery. Chicken was good. Seasoned very well, fresh lettuce, tomatoes pulled it all together, including the soft feta cheese. So good. My only gripe was that we ordered pick up and it wasn't ready for over an hour. We ordered around 5:45PM and it wasn't ready for pickup until 7:15. Not sure if that's COVID-19 related or what. Dude behind the counter seemed confused about my order too, super chill and friendly though. Either way, they're supremely delicious. I'll be back, Plentea. I'll be back. read more

Usually Plentea is my go to place for boba! It's super good and their boba drinks never need improvement. However, I went today excited for my usual, a milk thai tea with boba, and i was extremely disappointed. It tasted way too sweet, almost like I was drinking a cup of corn syrup. My mom noticed milk curdles in the tea, and I noticed after a few sips that it is simply not healthy for me to drink. Very disappointing experience! However after years of going, this was my first horrible experience with them, so I have high hopes for next time. read more

I would definitely give this place another chance and hopefully give a higher rating b/c this place seems promising. Today was my first time there and it was, well, average. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that great either. My husband and I ordered a Thai tea and winter melon tropical tea -- both with boba and 50% sugar. I wish there was a 25% option b/c my winter melon was still took sweet for me, but it might just be my palette. My first feedback is to boil the boba longer -- the boba we were served were still kind of hard. It wasn't raw, but also not completely soft. It was also bland; I would recommend a few drops of vanilla or some brown sugar in the water you're boiling with to give some taste/sweetness to the boba. The popcorn chicken was dry while the banh mi was oily. I'm guessing the oil/grease came from the pork belly/bacon? We ate in and the banh mi overall was almost soggy despite the bread showing clear signs of being toasted with the vegetables put to the side. It was not bad, but not that good either. It was not a bad experience overall, just average. The decor is cute for a little shop and the staff was friendly. I would give this place another chance. read more
