I sold them a 60 lb weighted vest valued at 109$ unopened still in the box..these people have the audacity to give me literally less than 50$ for it. I believe the price was 30$. They are rip off artists and will shortchange you if you do business with them..Avoid selling anything to this second hand sporting pawn shop at all costs. I have sold a fair amount of used gear here, especially as my kids were growing up and moving around as young adults and I have bought a few things for myself. The prices seem fair enough, you just can't sell used stuff for a lot of money. That's the nature of the market. But these people make it easy. Some things they have bought outright but most items I put on consignment. The seller gets a little more that way. The place is sort of messy and you might need to pick through things but I think that's fairly standard in used shops. They do carry a small selection of new, budget priced gear to fill in some gaps, like stationary bikes and ellipticals. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone trying to sell their sport clothing/equipment. I called ahead of time to see if they even took athletic clothing and running shoes since it seems like only equipment from their page. The guy on the phone asked me the specifics and I told him the items and brands. He said they definitely take that kind of stuff, so I made the drive over. When I walked in, a young kid took down my personal contact information and then my bag of stuff was looked at for ~10 seconds before being returned to me saying they weren't interested. Went into the store looking at disc golf discs and found just what I was looking for. They have a good selection of all kinds, as well as tons of other sporting equipment. Staff was very helpful and even helped me pick out some discs! Prices are about 1/2 of retail and items feel about brand new! Would come again for sure! read more

I brought in my very expensive hockey skates and fiancé's figure skates to be sharpened for a date night. It looks like they used bricks to sharpen them. There not just less sharp than before, they are destroyed, chips in the blade, layered uneven layers now cover my blades. I'll be lucky if I can even skate on ice at all. read more

I went to Play It Again Sports to get my ice skates sharpened after reading 'at your own risk' on CU's ice rink page. My skates are precious and expensive and I wasn't about to trust someone at CU to do them at my risk. I went into Play It Again and the staff was awesome. The guy who sharpened my skates was careful and thorough. I could tell he knew what he was doing. The price was totally fair and they have a skate sharpening program where your tenth sharpening is free. Oh, and they directed me to a yummy sandwich shop, Micky C's while I was there too. I'm new to the area and wanted to stock up on outdoor adventure supplies for my three little kids (all under the age of 7). This store and it's staff were the perfect fit. I was able to cover the spectrum on used gear by picking up tennis racquets, baseball gloves, soccer cleats and some snow boots without it costing me an arm and a leg. I was asked at least 3 times if I needed anything and you could tell the staff cared about making sure we found what we were looking for. I even shopped some skis and bikes but nothing was in my size unfortunately that fit the bill. They were very helpful in explaining the differences in each set of skis and didn't try to talk me into buying anything that wasn't going to be of use to me. I love supporting businesses like this where you can tell the owners and staff actually care about the products they sell and provide stellar customer service during these turbulent times! read more

Maybe it's because it was a Sunday and basketball was on, but the 3 kids working the store didn't even realize we were there. We came in looking for golf clubs and used weights, not only were they lacking any equipment that was used, the new stuff was low quality too. Inept workers who have no idea what items are worth. Walked in once to hear employees discussing what their boss would do if they just left. Very unprofessional and their employees knowledge of equipment is very poor. The front desk is always clustered even though they have three men working there who seem to have no idea what's going on. It's 3pm on a Monday. I called. No answer. I called again. No answer. I called a 3rd time and was hung up on--someone picked up the phone and put it down. I called 4th time. No answer. I've never shopped here and was calling to see if they had an item in stock before deciding to drive 20 minutes in a snowstorm to go make a purchase from them. How hard is it to answer the phone and say..."please hold?" Or "it's really busy right now, can you call back in a few." Anything other than avoiding the phone during business hours. Bought our son's lacrosse gear there. Great customer service, didn't have any used, but very reasonably priced on new. They even called the Longmont store to see if they had any used available. Really felt they had expertise, adjusted my son's helmet and gave me a great tutorial. Would definitely recommend. read more

Great customer service!!! I called to see if they did skate sharpening and talked with Tom. He knew he was going to be in and out of the shop and is currently the only one who can do this so he offered that my son could call him and he would wait there until he arrived. Turns out, Tom forgot it was his day off and came in anyway to wait for my son's call. Now that's above and beyond! Thank you Tom! We will be back. Note: We got our kids hockey gear here when they were little and growing out of things constantly. I'm not current on this, but they had a great trade-in program and nice used gear. We had a great experience today. My 8 year old son bought a red gym ball last week with his own money and a day later it had a hole in it. When I examined it there seemed to be a small tear in the ball's seam. I tried to fix it with a bicycle patch - Didn't work. Another hole appeared and my son got really upset. We took it back to Play It Again sports for an exchange and explained our story - and that we didn't have a receipt. The guy at the Register said, "no" but almost immediately the manager grabbed another ball and gave it to my son. That was good demonstration of great service. Nice job! read more

I love this store! My boyfriend and I go here at least twice a month to pick up gear for skiing, soccer, tennis and for working out. We love the service and are always pleasantly surprised with the treasures we find at amazing prices. I send my friends here all the time and they have equally amazing experiences. The guys in the store are always helpful, friendly, and I'm always greeted when I walk in the door. Play it Again always has the little things I am looking for. The other day my wife and I were looking to find a little pair of skis to take our baby announcement pictures. Everyone at Play it Again was super supportive and let us borrow a pair of little kid skis, even offering to drop off and pick them up from us. We bought ski gear for the kids here last year-paid $100 for a pair of boots for my son. We skied 8 times last year. When we went to gear up again, they wouldn't take them to resell because they wee too worn. Despite the fact that they were in much better shape than 80% of the boots they had for sale. I primarily go to play it again for disc golf discs. I have been to many locations in Oregon and Colorado. The one in Boulder is baffling. Baffling in the sense that they have by far the most disorganized disc display I have seen. If you want to find a specific disc prepare to search every rack as the disc are barely arranged by manufacturer. I even offered to organize them for them last year for a discount. It was the bad. Also the prices for discs are higher than other locations. And the used section is usually non-existent. I make the drive to Longmont for their disc selection as it is organized and has a huge selection of used discs. read more

My Hockey equipment with bag was stolen so I notified this store and the thief actually showed up and I got my equipment back!!!!!!! So happy, and thanks to them I don't have to fork over $1000+ to gear up again with my Hockey Equipment.
