Not the best selection of clothing but it's difficult to sell to the store

Pretty difficult place to sell clothes if you ask me. Thi was my 2nd time giving it a shot to see if they'd take some items. Brought in a few large bags of clothing which included some pants, coats, shirts, shoes etc. Only reason I considered trying again was because a lot of the items were name brand like Levi and had a few pairs of Nike Dunks I've never worn. I dropped off the bags and they said the wait would be around 1.5 hours which is fine so I figured I browse a little bit to see what kind of items they're taking and stuff they're selling on the floor. To be honest, the Men's section of the store is very goodwill-like in the sense that you'll find a few good items but I mean a lot of the bulk of their clothing is just random crap that I'm not completely sure why they're taking and reselling. Some of the photos I've included are some items that I'm unsure why they'd take and try and resell if the stores advertised to "trends" and "Young Adult Style". Especially since the store is such a hard store to sell clothing to. After running some errands I received a text that my offer was ready and based on how long it took I was pretty sure I was going to walk out with the same amount of clothing I walked in with. Sure enough that was the case and they took some items I figured I'd have to take to goodwill and have me $27 which is fine. Their reasoning for not taking any pants was they are only looking for denim jeans and not colored denim...okay that's fine. They then said they aren't taking a lot of the items because they are overstocked on certain clothing. Hmmm I'm pretty sure the reason they're overstocked is because they're taking a lot of sub par mens clothing that are difficult to move off the floor! Guys I'm sorry I know this is a second hand clothing store, but at a certain point you have to consider quality over quantity and I'm sure you'd make a hell of a lot more money. Just based on what I was seeing on the floor it's no different than walking into the savers less than 2 miles away and finding the same stuff. I'd even say I've had 1000x more luck at savers than I have Plato's. If you're a person looking to sell clothing I'd prepare yourself for a little disappointment considering the effort it takes to organize and transport the clothing. The store has a lot of potential to be a solid second hand store but I truly believe they've got to broaden their audience because the stuff they're buying and selling feel a little lost and out of touch of so called "trends". This will be the last time trying to sell clothing to this place, it's more worth the time and effort to find the nearest buffalo exchange or crossroads if you're looking to sell clothes.

I visited for the first time to experience the "country drop"! And a lot of great things for my upcoming trip to Nashville at a great price and I'm so excited! The ladies working there were very helpful and nice.

Unless it's a fast food establishment, I usually cringe when I visit a business with one or two stars on Yelp. And considering this is a business that specializes in second hand apparel, I had to give it some thought if this place was any good. Keep in mind that I love thrifting; especially when you can find bargains on so many good finds. This takes me to the Vacaville "Plato's Closet" that has been opened since mid-2021. For those of you that don't know, Plato's Closet is a franchise owned by Winmark Corporation which also owns "Once Upon A Child" and "Play It Again Sports". Usually, their stores are spread out and only in very select areas across the country. This was my 2nd time visiting a Plato's Closet as there is one only 20 minutes from me in Roseville, CA. This location is in a busy outdoor shopping center directly at Allison Dr. and Nut Tree Pkwy. During my visit which was the afternoon of Saturday 6/17/2023 at around 1:30pm, I scored some really amazing finds. First and foremost, they were offering 70% off on clearance items. I found an awesome Aeropostale t-shirt for under $1, Kirkland brand swim trunks for under $2 (both of which were clearance items), and Nike Air Max shoes for an unbelievable $25. Furthermore, this place has a ton of name brand apparel at discounts that are much lower than a Goodwill and Eco Thrift. One thing I did want to point out is that customer service wasn't the best. However in this situation it was okay with me as the three female employees looked young (18-20 years old) Usually I enjoy browsing by myself without being asked if I need help. When I did want to use the fitting room, the young woman didn't mind assisting me in letting me in. All in all, the Vacaville "Plato's Closet" was a decent thrift store with surprisingly unbeatable prices. And it is tucked in between Ross and Burlington so if you're on a mission for some new and perhaps, second hand clothes like you'll find here, you just may score some deal. With that said and done, I am giving them an above average four star rating.

Michael Kors is MK not M

I do not expect high about this store but I respect them as I have visited San Mateo Location few times.. I hit this store for a possible deal... I went to the clothes area, nothing to see but look like rugs, not to insult them but they should choose what they get from consignors because they are losing money on this.. Shoes are A-OK though I won't buy used shoes for obvious reasons, then the bags and wallets.. They should have an authenticator to make sure what they're selling is authentic.. I have seen few that are really FAKE and when I asked them they said they have an authenticator to authenticate the products. I guess you have to fire your authenticator.. One bag is misleading at the same time even if you do not work for a fashion industry (I do), you should know what Michael Kors bag is... Take a look at the picture and tell me if this is Michael Kors... Obviously it is an Amazon product and even a grade schooler knows if the bag is an MK or not..Do not blame authenticators because if your authenticator is wrong then as a person who works for Fashion Retail should know the difference of auth and non-auth and the brands of each bag.. Staff knows how to talk gossip about customers, consignors or bring their personal issues at work, rather than learning brand names of what they're selling... In San Mateo location, you can see all kinds of Branded Luxury and Designer Items from bags, wallets, shoes and clothes... They know their brands but this Vac location takes and accepts even Goodwill brands or non-branded things... As far as I am concerned Plato's has its policy and rule to follow on what to sell, that's why they're strict when it comes to consignment... Now, I know why I see people just taking their closet and bringing it over to Plato's anything, just anything, to save them from decluttering fees.. Plato's , you should know better than this, hire people with knowledge on Brands.. However, when it comes to Customer Service, they greeted us as we walked in (brother and I), they were friendly , contrary to what others said here..

I used to go to a Plato's in San Jose as it was a staple for me in college to shop for some cheap trendy clothes, but this location in VV has gone downhill and their clothes have become more expensive. Their jeans and pants can range from $15-25, which is kind of expensive for second hand clothes. I've even seen some Shein and Fashion Nova pieces that were $15+! You're better off buying new clothes from Ross in terms of the value sometimes, but they might have some hidden items that are worth. One thing I'll stress on is the customer service here is utter shit. The staff needs to have a better system for the fitting rooms and should be trained for better customer service. One of the staff members opened on the door on me while I was changing and she didn't even apologize. She did knock, but I couldn't tell if she was knocking on the fitting room next to me. Later on I overheard them laughing and gossiping about what happened- suuuper unprofessional! This Plato's closet hires typical gossipy high school girls, and from previous reviews there's complaints about them being super rude and not displaying any customer service whatsoever. Honestly I should have taken my business elsewhere but my boyfriend really wanted to purchase some clothes. Also, whenever I come here I've always noticed that when I walk in here I'm never welcomed by the staff, but they always welcome other customers who walk in. Not sure if it's a coincidence, if it's me, or...? The only thing I like is how they organize everything by color.

One of the tees and vintage jackets I found a few years back. Love the style at Platos!!

I finally got time to go all the way up there and check them out so I walk in and it kinda has the same vibe as a cigarette shop. It's not very well organized at all. But who am I to critique? My room is a mess so I moved past that and I ask about the bangles. The man mentions an adjustable bangle, but I say that I want the solid bangle in size 7 1/2 to 8. He shows me the bangle tells me it's $125 and I say that's perfect because it's sterling silver and that's worth it!! I ask what their return policy is and he tells me 14 days at this point it's December 9th so I asked if they have any holiday promotions because it's going to be a Christmas gift for my mother. The man tells me no and to check back next week. I think that's kind of odd because normally holiday promotions begin after Thanksgiving but it's a small business, maybe they do things differently, I understand. I called back the next week like he says and I ask if they're doing the holiday promotion and he says still not doing it. Check back next week. At this point, it's December 14th or 15th checking back next week is just grabbing it right before Christmas. So I asked him if he can write down my phone number and call me when it begins. The night of the 15th I get a text message saying that holiday return policy began November 27. That's a little annoying, but whatever so I sent my fiancé out to go buy it. To our surprise, they said the price is now $175. $50 is a pretty big jump. So they say that $125 is the price for the small adjustable one WHICH I DIDN'T LOOK AT. We ended up purchasing because my mother has wanted one for her entire life, but I don't think I will ever come back here again. To anybody looking for a less expensive alternative I found Rosa Marina's I haven't ordered from them yet, so I can't vouch but I'll come back and let you know if I do. EDIT: The response that I received by the owner claims that we were offered a discount but it was a military discount... even putting the more expensive price off aside I found this rather unprofessional given my multiple time calling for the holiday exchange and the improper quote. I'm not one to write many bad reviews and a positive for this is my mom loves her bangle.

I don't recall taking the train ride, but for only $5 it's a must do for kiddos these days. Cheaper than a trip to Disneyland. What I really recall is the giant gingerbread people they used to have in their bakery. My parents would never get me one, but every time I saw them the drool was on. They also had quick breads like zucchini bread and the such. I'm a sucker for zucchini breads and other quick breads. I went a few years back ready to get my ginger bread man and some quick bread and to my dismay they don't have any of that anymore. Being an adult now I was so ready to buy all those things my parents wouldn't buy me. Being an adult has those perks. Now the Nut Tree is a place made up of restaurants and some key stone stores such as Ultra and Old Navy. If you hunt around you can find Sees. I really wanted to go to Sees today, but we ran out of time to make the trek over there. We did have time to explore Kirkland. I've never been to a Kirkland before and it turned out to be a real fun store. They had a great deal on diffusers. 1/5 the price of the ones I saw in Fort Bragg. I found one that I LOVED the scent to in Fort Bragg, but couldn't rationalize spending the money on it. I almost got one of the cheaper ones at Kirkland, but resisted as I really didn't need to spend the money today. I need to save up for the Berry Festival in Woodland this weekend and I bought too much stuff in Fort Bragg this weekend. We did go to Fenton's and shared a cone of black cherry and loved every bite the last time we were at the Nut Tree. It's hard to resist a cone from Fenton's when you stop at the Nut Tree. They are located to the right of the big Nut Tree sign and next to the bathrooms that are on the Left. We walk by it all the time as we go to the bathroom for our potty stop. Just thinking about it I'm drooling. We also stopped buy Old Navy. They always have tons of cute tees for $10, which is a good deal in my book for new shits. They had a ton for cute skirts and dresses, but they weren't a style I'd wear so we walked out empty handed. That was our stop in the Nut Tree this time. It's always a solid rest break and potty stop on our way.

This takes me on a stroll to the heart of downtown Vacaville (right at Main & Merchant St.) where I got to check out "Rise And Redemption", a brick-and-mortar store that has been serving up premium men's and women's clothing since early-2021. This store had its share of challenges but opening in the midst of a worldwide pandemic was a gusty move that definitely paid off. I arrived here during the afternoon of Saturday 6/17/2023 at around 12:55pm as the very cool exterior more or less drew me in to see what this place was all about. After exploring the entire store and much to my surprise, I loved the style of these clothes! There is black walls throughout with cool artwork and even stylish cabintry displaying hats, handbags, scarves, and other various accessories. Here you will find a very generous selection of apparel as I was very impressed with the mens' part of the store. This place negotiates with several independent labels including "Dadbod Apparel", "Sullen Clothing Company", "Hold Fast", "Dixxon Flannel Company", and "Graveyard Apparel Company". They also have a partnership with "American Bonfire Company", a popular sunglass line. During my visit, I saw a very impressive selection of graphic tees, sweaters, outerwear, denim, and accessories. Much of the product line is that hip, trendy look that is quite fashionable. As I read the small amount of reviews on this place, many people complained of the customer service as well as the no-return policy. During my experience, the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. Furthermore, I advise to try everything on prior to making your purchase as many smaller businesses won't accept returns due to a smaller overhead.
