I try to support small businesses as much as possible as they rely on us in staying afloat. Especially with rising costs on rent and the surge in clothing/goods with soaring inflation from 2021-23. This takes me on a stroll to the heart of downtown Vacaville (right at Main & Merchant St.) where I got to check out "Rise And Redemption", a brick-and-mortar store that has been serving up premium men's and women's clothing since early-2021. This store had its share of challenges but opening in the midst of a worldwide pandemic was a gusty move that definitely paid off. I arrived here during the afternoon of Saturday 6/17/2023 at around 12:55pm as the very cool exterior more or less drew me in to see what this place was all about. After exploring the entire store and much to my surprise, I loved the style of these clothes! There is black walls throughout with cool artwork and even stylish cabintry displaying hats, handbags, scarves, and other various accessories. Here you will find a very generous selection of apparel as I was very impressed with the mens' part of the store. This place negotiates with several independent labels including "Dadbod Apparel", "Sullen Clothing Company", "Hold Fast", "Dixxon Flannel Company", and "Graveyard Apparel Company". They also have a partnership with "American Bonfire Company", a popular sunglass line. During my visit, I saw a very impressive selection of graphic tees, sweaters, outerwear, denim, and accessories. Much of the product line is that hip, trendy look that is quite fashionable. As I read the small amount of reviews on this place, many people complained of the customer service as well as the no-return policy. During my experience, the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. Furthermore, I advise to try everything on prior to making your purchase as many smaller businesses won't accept returns due to a smaller overhead. With that said and done, I am giving "Rise and Redemption" a respectable four-star review. read more

Shout out to my sister @teresa for suggesting her favorite spot in Vacaville!!! Lots of great pieces to choose from. This plus size cutie was in heaven. All sizes from baby-3x. Many cheetah print items, long dresses, lace dusters, jeans, plaid, printed t's, boots, and the 50% off rack is riddled with gems. Whether it's on your way to a dinner and you need a quick fix or out for the day looking for a nice store in the heart of downtown Vacaville...I recommend making a stop by R&R. I recently discovered this store while at an event in downtown Vacaville. They have such cute clothes and affordable prices! My favorite color is black and I think the owner must love black too because I can find anything they sell in black! I have visited this store a few times in the last couple months and never leave empty handed. Very clean store and usually can always find my size. They do get new inventory quite frequently. I've been waiting to post this... I followed Rise on social media for a while before making the two hour drive from Chico to go and check out the small store, everything I thought was right up my ally! I get there and have a special needs daughter who has some behavioral problems... she was acting out because we had just had a long two hour drive.. The OWNER and her assistant the little brunette were SO RUDE to me about my daughters behavior. Made me extremely un comfortable as I was trying my best to consul her.. I then found out that the owner has multiple children and a large mixed family. So I said " you know how hard it can be" she then replied with a dirty look and said " no my kids don't act like that" I wanted to cry... I ended up STILL buying $300 worth of items because I did like the stuff and have driven so far to buy these items... (very poor quality for the price) I wanted so bad to support the owner as I had followed her journey from being a single mom to becoming a bad ass business owner but she put a disgusting taste in my mouth. I told my friend about the experience I had and she has a very large social media presence. She asked if she should post the story and I told her to hold off. Long story short these RUDE employees made me cry all the way home as if I wasn't embarrassed and overwhelmed enough. SO sad... will never be back again. They claim to be so family oriented and supportive of everyone but that's a bunch of lies.. unless you're perfect don't go into this store. read more

Rise and Redemption is such a great place for all ages alike. I love the quality and selections they have for all ages!! The prices are great especially for the cute graphic tees to flannels and the men's selection is a huge plus especially for a little boutique!! The service is alllllways quick, efficient and kind. I would give zero stars if I could. I walked in today (on a slow Sunday) and multiple staff were talking loudly and didn't pause their conversation. Eventually, one came around and told me to let her know if I needed anything. I responded that I would and thanked her. She then proceeded to follow me throughout the store as I browsed, and didn't give me any space!!! So insulting and uncalled for, and I've never been treated like that! She was pretending to adjust and straighten clothes on a rack, literally 1 foot from me. Everything was already in place and there was no reason for her to "straighten" and it was blatant. I am a professional and successful woman who loves to support local, small businesses BUT I was so offended that I left and will never return. Their clothing is so cute and I loved so many pieces! Being from Vacaville I love supporting small businesses, but was very disappointed by the lack of customer service! I was not greeted by anyone or once even said let me know if you need anything. The two young ladies working there seemed to have hated their job. Therefore, I walked out as it didn't feel right to buy something from a place where they have this much lack of customer service. I am contemplating even purchasing some items online instead of in person because of how uncomfortable they made me feel and that in itself tells you how much I love the clothing, but did not enjoy the experience of walking into the store.
