They don't have a computer system and are writing things down on slips of paper, only to lose them. They don't take your contact information, no text system, nothing. It's like this one single Once Upon a Child is stuck in 1980, while all the others in the area are 2026. I've called ahead to make sure they have a selling spot available before I drive 40 minutes there - They said yes, but I couldn't reserve a spot, so it got filled by the time I arrived. I've come close to opening - it would be a wait until 6-7PM with no guarantees it would even be done the same day. I came in once and said I had only 4 hours in the area, asking if it was possible, and they said yes. One small bin of 10-12 clothing pieces and a diaper pail. Took my stuff and info and told me to come back at 1pm. By the way - the person selling before me? Didn't ask for his ID, even though he was selling for the first time. Me? Asked for my ID and wrote it down on a slip of paper (i.e. my personal identifying information just sitting around for anyone, not secured in any way). I came back at 1PM as requested (actually, 1:20 to give them more time) and my stuff was sitting in the exact same place as when I dropped it. They looked at each other, confused, and just said, uh, well... we didn't do it. That was it. No offer of a different time, nothing. I just laughed, took my stuff and left. Unlike some other stores, they don't give you 24h to collect your payout/items - it has to be that same day, no matter how late they finish going through your items. I guess this place would be fine to sell to if you didn't have a job or any other commitments, or maybe if you lived like 3 blocks away so you could just hang out and wait for them all day/night.

Dr Earth - Lemon tree, a mossy rock and a vertical herb garden. Not slug proof but I'm going to try growing strawberries!

This was the best experience! Benny had a plan, shared it, revised it and shared it again. He and his crew showed up when he said they would, and did what he planned to do for our yard. We have city owned pine trees along our back fence and finding anything that would grow in the soil under them seemed impossible. Nothing that grew in that soil was eatable. Benny and his crew came in and put life into the backyard. He poured a beautiful dyed and stamped concrete walkway, driveway and path to the front door. He put down fine granite inside his brick and stone boarders. A buff color, with a contrasting blue-gray where we had a 2 boulders and a slab for a bench. Our "stone henge" bench is in the front yard under two very mature redwood trees. They are at the least 60 feet tall. We now have year round blooms in many colors, Japanese miniature maple trees, with lights that come on at night, fun attractive bits of drift wood and a couple of medium sized bolder. I love sitting on the bench in the evening, when the lights come on it feels magical. Humming birds love the front yard, as do other little birds. I love it. One of the things I am most impressed by is the drip line watering system. I have watched my water bill decline with that drip line installation. We have a lot of bare pavers and cement in our backyard and I hated how hot and barren it looked and felt. But that was not a problem for Benny and his crew. We now have drip line watered ceramic planters with rose trees, and smaller flowers that drip color over the sides of those planters along one corner of our back yard. Benny, with his artistic eye, did not install fescue everywhere. He left a corner open and put in another miniature tree, huge rock with my favorite dragonfly garden statue on the rock. It looks as if it's ready to fly. Also in the back yard we have a lemon tree, blue berry bushes, two apple bushes each with three types of apples growing. We have a vertical garden against one fence wall that I'm filling with herbs and small eatable flowers. I thought I would never have a kitchen garden because of those acid producing pine trees. But I now have a small productive garden to grow things in. I have never loved a lawn, it's difficult and costly to maintain in our area. Benny ripped it out, fixed the watering system and put down a more drought resistant fescue/blue grass mixture. It's beautiful, looks healthy and all the neighborhood dogs love to run across it. They are welcome to play on it, as it is hearty and not at all easy to kill off! Dr. Earth will also come by twice yearly to winterize or summer prep our yard. Everything works, its all beautiful, and my expectations were met, exceeded and them left in the dust! What an amazing experience. I hope they are in business for the next 80 years at least. Oh, my favorite phase from Benny was "have you got time right now?" And off we go to look at everything, I got names and care instructions, suggestions for art, it was epic.
