The ice cream is delicious, I literally come once a week to get ice cream BUT, if you order an ice cream be prepared to wait a long time .... I'm not sure if they are making the ice cream fresh to order or not but it seriously shouldn't take this long to scoop ice cream into a cup or cone .... If they can work on working a bit quicker they could get 5 star. This guy literally waited atleast 20 min for a shake.... I ordered after, not sure how soon after but I e been here 20 min! Oh and they didn't get his order right (facepalm) I wouldn't come here with the kids read more

I can't say enough good things about Plasko's. The ice cream and apple cider donuts are delicious and the surrounding grounds, tables and chairs make it an ideal spot to sit and enjoy your treats. In the winter the coffee house is comfy and cozy to enjoy a hot cup of specialty coffee or tea with a tasty donut or pastry. read more

I've been hearing from my family about how great this ice cream is, so I was a little nervous that my expectations were too high and the ice cream wouldn't live up to the hype. Well, it absolutely lived up to the hype, and was worth the almost 1-year wait to try it! I I had the peanut butter explosion, which is a peanut butter lover's dream. Not only was it a delicious base ice cream, but it had a generous amount of the mix-ins, and every bite was truly an explosion of flavor. I also had a chance to taste a family member's black raspberry ice cream which was phenomenal. I can't wait for my next visit to CT to go back. Highly recommend this place!! read more

Delicious ice cream. Mint chocolate crunch and donkey tracks were amazing. The cones are not home made. The ice cream was a bit melty. Perhaps 3 scoops on a large cone is too ambitious. Otherwise very good. read more

Good selection of ice cream flavors. Don't go by their website, all the flavors listed are not available. Got a two scoop sundae with two different flavors and it wasn't half of one half of the other. More like 70% one flavor 30% the other flavor. My wife had the same issue with her two scoop sundae. Either way, fresh whipped cream and really good ice cream. read more

I went here last night after searching for top ice cream locations near me. After finding this location, my family and I decided to give it a shot. We all ordered something different and all were greatly surprised with how good the ice cream was. To be honest, it was truly one of our favorite ice cream places that we have ever had. We are so lucky to have this great family business in Trumbull. All of their products are excellent but their oatmeal raisin & chocolate chip cookies and ice creams are my favorite. The coffee shop is an added bonus and has a very warm atmosphere to it. Add a friendly and helpful staff and you've got a real home run!!! read more

Great ice cream. Terrible service. Very disappointed. Waited for over an hour. The order was wrong. Also watched how one worker scraped off an ice cream cone in to the garbage and reused it because he messed it up. Twice. Eww Not worth it. read more

History

Established in 1952.

Plasko's Farm originated in 1925 by the first generation immigrants from Czechoslovakia, Martin and Mary Plasko. Martin was only 16 when he arrived to the United States. He worked on an Oyster boat in Norwalk for about 10 years before saving enough money to buy the land in Trumbull where he and his wife Mary would raise their family. The farm was continued by the next generation, John and Pauline Plasko. They established the 8-acre farm on Daniels Farm Road in 1952, as well as 20 acres of additional farmland. In 1997, John and Pauline Plasko, along with the third generation, John Plasko Jr., rebuilt and expanded the farm to not only its original purpose of farming sweet corn and other produce, but also to include a full nursery, country store & bakery.

They should have reverenced on each order that there were two orders but didn't. I asked them to send someone with the rest of my order and they refused. Their solution was that I ask one of my guests to go pick it up. That's insane. My guests don't know their way around and how inconsiderate would it be to send them on a 45 minute journey when they arrived to the party? It wasn't on anyone's way at all. Their next solution was to give me a refund of the part they held back. No. I absolutely needed those items and the biggest issue with that was that the last time they messed up and overcharged me, they couldn't refund me on the spot but said they'd have a credit behind the counter for me. When I went to use that credit, conveniently no one had any knowledge of said credit. Absolutely do not trust them. I had to pay a neighbor to go pick it up for me. I don't have complaints about the food this time but it's only average - it was my daughter that wanted a sickly sweet frosting (think Pillsbury from a can) that I couldn't find at any other bakery. I will never take my chances with them again. They've now messed up two parties.

I am absolutely appalled by the behavior I witnessed at Plasko's this evening May 1st. The staff on duty showed a shocking lack of basic human decency and respect. The shop, which closes at 8 PM, was still serving customers at 8:02 when an elderly couple approached the window. Rather than offering a word of kindness or even acknowledging them properly, the two young women at the window locked it in their faces, used dismissive hand gestures to wave them away, and then dropped the blinds without a word. This behavior was not only unprofessional, it was deeply disrespectful and dehumanizing. What made this especially painful to watch was the fact that the elderly gentleman is a veteran--someone who has served our country and deserves to be treated with dignity, as does his wife. There were still customers sitting outside who witnessed the whole thing, and it left everyone stunned. No one--least of all our elders and veterans--deserves to be treated like this. It was truly disgusting to see. Respect costs nothing, and tonight Plasko's showed none. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Plasko's early today (10/6/19). The staff were all smiles, their ice cream is amazing and even the slushees are fantastic (I may have gone back for more after my first helping) The staff who I talked to, was super engaging, very friendly, and just all around very respectful. The prices were reasonable, if on the high side a small bit. If I had to pick a highlight of my experience, it would have been the corn maze. It was the perfect mixture of challenging and entertaining, and it had my daughter on a mission the whole time. I would 100% recommend going here for any of your autumn traditions. Unfortunately, they don't have an apple orchard, but I feel as though the wonderful service and the fantastic experience more than made up for that. read more

When I stopped by Plasko's Farm this afternoon to pick up a Christmas tree, I was not expecting the kindness and knowledgeability of the staff- both those who put my tree on my car AND those in the creamery where I paid. Everyone in the creamery was so nice and understanding (and the ice cream was to die for), and the boys in charge of the trees were so sweet. Although there was a line, it also moved quickly! From traditional scoops, to loaded banana splits, milkshakes and even nostalgic ice cream truck favorites I was impressed with the wide selection offered. The outdoor seating made for a vibrant and fun experience for an ice cream shop and we could tell there were many regulars in the crowd. We were greeted with quick, friendly service. My daughter was thrilled with her waffle bowl (though to be fair, she's pretty easy to please when sugar is involved). I didn't want to look at the menu, so I stuck with a classic vanilla on a sugar cone simple and generously scooped. The prices are super reasonable, and they even have a little enclosed patio to enjoy your treat if you want to linger. Truth be told, I don't care for ice cream much, but seeing my kid so happy made the stop totally worth it. She gives it two thumbs up and that's all that really matters!

The inside looks like not much has changed since they opened; which I don't think is a bad thing. The campfire ice cream and coconut caramel cookie (aka Samoa) are both really good 4 out of 5! I got a pistachio milkshake, which had the perfect texture for the size of straw which is my biggest complaint on most milkshakes. It was also full of pistachio flavor and made with an attention to detail. At $12, which most might find steep, I found it to be worthy of the price for the amount of ice cream included, flavor and amount of work that went into it. The service from the young girl who assisted us was amazing. She was extremely friendly despite an extremely long line.

The shop offers ice cream produced by Stamford-based supplier Longford's Ice Cream as well as locally-baked pies and cakes. The shop also features a large selection of nostalgic loose candies; customers can make their own custom goodie bags. A second location opened in Fairfield in 2016. The original Westport location closed its doors in December 2023 due to financial problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. My family and I recently visited Saugatuck Sweets for ice cream. We just had lunch next door at Firehouse Deli and thought that ice cream sounded like a good dessert idea. We really liked the interior and their selection of old school candies. After looking over the menu, I ordered a cup of "Peanut Butter Blizzard", my wife ordered a cup of "Mint Oreo Bomb", and our son ordered a cup of "Cookie Monster". We all enjoyed our choices. We had a nice experience at Saugatuck Sweets and would definitely stop there again on a future trip to the area.
