The best thing I can say about this place is that my dog leaps out of the car and tears his way up to the door dying to get in. I love dogs, but Planet Bark is truly run by "dog people" who take it to the next level. They really have gotten to know my dog "as a person" and give him tons of personalized attention, starting with greeting him warmly when he hits the door. When we have a boarding visit they take the time to ask about his routine and do extra things to cheer him up like adding cheese or other treats to his food to make sure he eats when we're away. They've been instrumental in helping to socialize my dog and make him comfortable around other dogs. I can't imagine bringing my dogs anywhere else for daycare or boarding. read more

This place is phenomenal. We brought our puppy there & she can't wait to get inside every time since. The staff is super friendly and responsive - you can also tell they truly care about the dogs. We've only boarded there once, but so far so good! You can drop your dog off in the am and pick them up the next day in the pm for no additional day care charge like other places - they do this because there are shortened play hours on the weekend - but it's still better than my pup sitting home alone when I can't be there! They always remember us & our dogs name & always double check on feeding schedule & amounts which I appreciate. We had a couple of bad experiences at other larger daycare places around & this place immediately had our trust. Many other places are just shuffling large amount of dogs in & you worry yours could get missed (or even hurt because of the dog to person ratio) - I don't get that feel here either! They also put our dog (25lbs when she started) in with the big dogs because of her big personality - they seemed really in tune with the dogs - other daycares placed dogs solely on size - which isn't always appropriate!! Planet Bark always does a wonderful job taking car of my dog when he comes for daycare. Whenever I say "want to go to daycare" his ears perk up and he gets really excited. He always runs right in the door to Planet Bark, so I know he must love it there and have a fun time! Went here once and won't be returning. On my way in for the interview with my puppy I heard screaming at the dogs outside. I'm sorry, but no one better EVER yell at my dog unless it's me. So that was how we were greeted....the manager or whomever he was had absolutely no interest in my puppy. Lastly, my dog came home with TONS of energy. What exactly was he doing all day? It also makes me uneasy that there aren't any cameras or photos taken...unlike most daycares. Luckily the first day was free because I would never give a penny to this place. read more

Disappointing.... They initially gave me a hard time about scheduling an interview time (I work all of the days that they do interviews), but then the manager or owner made an exception which I was happy for. They made him get a flu shot, while his other day care doesn't require. When I arrived for his interview day, the girls at the front desk were standoffish and seemed confused. When I mentioned he would be doing Saturday day care (which by the way I mentioned each time I spoke with the manager that it would only be Saturdays) they told me they don't have Saturday daycare, only day boarding. Day boarding would just mean he was in a crate most of the day.... For $36?!?! This could have saved me a trip, and an unnecessary flu shot if this was only explained. So angry!! read more

Planet Bark is definitely worth the investment for your pup! The staff is young, fun, and energetic... so you know they can keep up with the rowdy dogs we drop off there. I can appreciate the wait time for scheduling the initial interview. That means that the crew is taking appropriate measures for their guest screening. They are setting up the right environment for your dog to be successful. When we pull up for a day of camp, Junebug perks right up in the back of the car, her tail is wagging from the moment we walk up to the door. She gets so happy to see the girls and gives them kisses, from this behavior I can tell they spend a lot of time paying attention to her. Jack, the owner, is always so pleasant. I've seen him there at closing time on a Friday night with a great attitude and smile, which to me shows he's invested in his business and genuinely cares about the clients. We can't say enough great things about this place! I trust their supervision and safety, the facility is always neat and clean. Junebug puts herself to bed early after a play day. We are very pleased with Planet Bark. We started bringing our puppy when she was 6 months old. We were hesitant due to the fact she was young but we were so pleased with the staff, facility and policies. The facility is very clean and smells good as you enter. Pictures of all their doggie clients are hung on the wall . The staff always knows the dogs names which is very professional as they great you. Staff is very in tuned to the dogs needs and health. Their boarding area is very clean and secure. Our puppy is always exhausted after a day at Planet Bark. read more

Great facility. The owners and staff really care about the dogs. We brought our older Bernese Mountain Dog and 5 month old Berner puppy in for their initial interview. The staff made sure that the puppy was comfortable in his first daycare setting. Both dogs came back exhausted. We now take the puppy to daycare twice a week and he loves it! The only reason that I can't give Planet Bark 5 stars is because boarding is SO EXPENSIVE. $48/day for the first dog with the second dog $40 if they stay in the same suite at night. We have lived a couple of big cities and never paid more than $25/day. read more

Been taking my dog here since October, and had no issues with this establishment till now. Picked my dog up one day this week only to be told she had a bad day and rolled in poop which is something she hasn't done since she was a puppy. They wanted to charge me another $20 for clean up but when I asked if it was her own poop the employee couldn't give me an answer. I'm not sure what happened that day but my dog has not been the same since. She refused to eat and threw up multiple times the next day and has been having violent dreams/new behavioral issues since that day. I will not be returning to Planet Bark. read more

Our dog Ozzy has made Planet Bark his home away from home while we are at work - he always claws to get in and is happy to see everyone and gives them lovely dog kisses. I've been taking my dog to Planet Bark since 2011, and haven't had any negative experiences. I've boarded my dog there and taken him in for day care. Staff has been friendly, welcoming and professional. I really am appreciative of that because I have a very large energetic dog that requires more patience than most. Ownership changed last year and there is new staff. They've been wondeful. The reason I can tell things are going well for us is because my dog gets excited about staying there. The moment I pull up outside their door, his tail starts wagging. There is another dog boarding facility nearby that my dog didn't like. He would have to be dragged in to their facility; that's not a good sign. At Planet Bark, my dog happily and excitedly trots right in. read more

I'm from NY and had a funeral on a Saturday in CT. The staff at Planet Bark was extremely helpful and understanding - I was able to provide them with all my puppies immunization information via fax. And she was allowed to board there for the day. She did not seem at all tense or upset when I picked her up and the staff was incredibly kind. I wish there was a location in New York!! read more

We have a six month old matese shitzu puppy. Lola loves planet bark. She has had a little vacation there with her friends, as well as once a week just going to p,ay w ith other little dogs. I rarely write reviews, but Planet Bark is incredible. We have tried five different doggie daycares in Connecticut, and while all of these have been fine and we've had no bad experiences, Planet Bark is clearly the best. They go above and beyond in their care for dogs. We are confident that our dog, Wilfred, is well taken care of here, and he loves it. We have been going to planet bark for a few years now. Initially we were happy with the care they gave to our baby dog. They used to have much more caring, attentive workers but shortly after the new management took over, one of the owners is extremely mean, rude, inconsiderate, and only cares about MONEY! She is not at all concerned about how my dog wasn't able to handle staying overnight, even though my dog would come back having lost almost 7-8lbs which was verified at the vet (ribs all sticking out) . They refuse to put video cameras up which every other daycare has which I find very suspicious. We have been a very good client for some time and even referred many other dog owners before but regret it now. The owner who mans the desk and finances is not honest and truthful about, nor even pays attention to what happens behind closed doors for fear that clients won't return if they knew what really happened but its the opposite. My dog is my baby and I would much rather have the truth and would appreciate more knowing that they were honest with me instead of lying and covering up what really happens. Its very scary. Needless to say, we won't be going back or referring anyone else to them. It is very upsetting. read more

I've been taking my dog to Planet Bark since 2015 and she likes it. I don't say loves it because getting her to go inside is a challenge (she is extremely scared of everything) but the staff do a GREAT job at helping her through this. They understand she is fearful and needs a little bit to warm up to people. When I got pick her up she is giving the staff kisses and tail is wagging. When she gets home, she goes straight to napping and doesn't get up even when Dad gets home! We have boarded her there several times and up to 2 weeks and when we go get here she is happy and well taken care off. When we went to Europe they were kind enough to send me updates all the time and let me know how she was. When she was being picky about eating they went the extra mile and put peanut butter and treat in her food so she would eat! Sarah and Jack are great! Sarah truly understand my dog and always gives her extra love. Jack is always kind and helpful and puts up with me emailing them whenever she goes to daycare and truly seems to love dogs. Management did change in Dec 2015 and the change seems significantly for the better. I didn't give them 5 starts because I wish they would have a reward system for customers that bring their dogs there often but other than that, great team! read more
