My Dog Was Injured I am beyond disappointed and heartbroken after trusting Wagging Tails with my dog's care. My dog was injured while at their facility, and not only did they fail to prevent it -- they showed absolutely accountability afterward. Any and all evidence is unknown. Wagging Tails as a franchise may have great ratings, but stay away from Wolcott. They should not be in business! I wish channel 3 news to check them out. They have non employees help out when understaffed going into your home, on rare occasion they do show up. People need to check the reviews! If you want to pay Wagging Tails in Wolcott to leave your pets home alone with lots of food and water and not take out the dogs to relieve themselves then this is the place. I worked there for a couple months. Krista in particular tried to steal wages from me. Also gaslights her employees because nothing is ever her fault. It smells like pee in there ALL the time. She doesn't have a safe grooming set up, and encouraged me to use unsafe practices with the dogs with no regard for their or MY safety. All the towels smell like pee. Customer service is terrible ( Jacky was beyond rude and the rest were not trained well) I would never trust my animal with them which is why I decided to cancel my boarding reservation. Now the Owner blocked my online profile so I cannot get my refund. I am so thankful I decided to not send my baby here and just took the financial hit. I understood that there is a 48hr cancellation period- I called Monday to cancel for my boarding on Friday (see call log). I was told on Monday that I was canceled and that I will be getting credited the deposit back to my card minus a 10%admin fee. I never received a confirmation email for my cancellation (which was odd considering I have been receiving email notifications from them) so I called again on Tuesday to confirm my cancellation (see call log) and again they assured me I was cancelled and I was going to receive my deposit minus admin fee- still no email. On Thursday I received an email that they were excited for my stay on Friday (see email)!!! I called again and the woman said I never canceled. I'm still waiting for the owner to get back to me. My dog stayed there for 2 nights about a month ago. The pictures they sent us looked really good and my dog seemed to have fun there. After we brought her back , she's been having diarrhea for weeks. Tried antibiotic and probiotic, nothing worked. Brought her to the vet again yesterday for a poop test. It shows she has tapeworms. 2 vet visits, $600+ medical bills. The staff is very kind and friendly, they are very accommodating if I have changes with my schedule. They have all kinds of activities and extras for your dog to participate in if you want. I find their rates very reasonable and I love the daily report cards. I have used them for boarding and full day daycare, I recommend them whenever anyone asks where my dog goes for doggy daycare. read more

My dog, Rose, is a spinone italiano who loves to swim, but is a bit timid. We've taken several dock diving lessons here, and she's a different dog when she's here! She loves the people, and the diving and swimming. She leaves with a bit of a swagger in her step. The instructor and her daughter, Natalie, who helps out with the pool, are both friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable about the sport and dogs in general. I can't believe the poor reviews?! Our dog Josie loves wagging tails and the staff! Everyone is so friendly and patient with the dogs. U can tell the establishment and employees are dog ppl which you be surprised who isn't in the field. Whatever u can imagine , they provide! Seek alternatives to day care for your pup! Close friend puppy was viciously attacked by 3 other dogs while in the care of Wagging Tails. Which resulted in a hospital stay and is currently in a body cast! Despite one of the other pet owners being willing to cover the cost of the Vet bill. I scheduled a birthday party for my dog almost 2 months in advance and was really looking forward to it. I put a $75 deposit down to secure the date- no problem. However, a condition of the party was that each dog invited needed to upload their their vaccine records, which was to be sent in response to Wagging Tails official email invitations. I kept following up on when the invitations would be sent and kept being told they were working on it. Less than one week before the party and they hadn't been sent out. I had called and followed up via email multiple times and was told the owner was handling it. Long story short it never got done. I had to end up filing a dispute on my credit card. We absolutely love wagging tails and our dog does too! She came to us a shy rescue who seemed skittish around other dogs so we started out with half day daycare and play and train. After three or four play and trains she was ready for the big group and day long daycare! She's been absolutely thriving and I love how they send report cards with photos and updates. When I pick her up and they radio back for her I can hear the folks working saying bye and that they love her which makes my heart smile. We've also met with the trainer once because she's got some behavior we aren't fans of, and that went well too. They'll do the training while she's at daycare which is awesome. We've had her combed and nails trimmed while she there for daycare too. They'll give treats and such during the day if you want. We also took her to the Halloween party and it was so cute! Overall we couldn't ask for a better place to bring our little lady! read more

I'm not going to lie, things did not start off well for us when I started bringing my puppy to Wagging Tails last summer. First time dog mom, energetic herding puppy, mid pandemic, limited staff that was poorly trained, etc. I almost pulled my dog from their program a few different times over the first few months. I felt that the young staff was not fit to be with my dog and what seemed like no "adult" supervision and they made comments about my dog not listening to them after one day of being there (obviously he wasn't going to listen well to someone he just met). I took him there for boarding one weekend and when I picked him up found that the staff had neglected to feed him lunch one of the days he was there. I also have a bad taste in my mouth from some of the interactions I've had with one of the managers there. HOWEVER, with all of that said, we continued to go and things have gotten much better. I continued to stick it out despite my hesitation because my dog loves going there. The facility is one of the best I've seen. It's very large with many different play areas for the dogs. They also have pools for the dogs and my pup loves water. My dog was also struggling with a few behavioral issues and we've been working with trainer TeeKay and seen huge improvements! There are always new events for the holidays and different parties going on which are fun for both dogs and parents. It's pretty pricy and I feel like they use any opportunity to charge you extra for things, but everything additional is optional. I do also love the staff during the week. The girl at the front desk is so sweet and the staff really seems to care for the dogs. From time to time we still have issues, like being charged for a full day of daycare when we were there for half, or recently the weekend staff removed my dogs collar and then lost it. But all in all I'm very happy that we have continued to go. Unfortunately I see a lot of negative reviews for the grooming but we can only speak (mostly) positively about the experience we've had at the daycare. read more

They cut a dog's ear so badly during grooming that it needed stitches and a cone. They didn't disclose this prior to demanding payment. They refused to refund for the "service" or pay the medical bill for their negligence and ineptitude. To add to it, the groomer and owner/manager were incredibly unprofessional. read more

The amount of unprofessionalism is profound. Before I even purchased a prepaid package, I asked numerous questions, including what would happen if my dog was no longer able to continue with daycare for any reason. I was assured by the staff that I would be able to get a refund for all unused portions. I never signed any paperwork stating otherwise. A few days later, my dog was injured at the facility and I was not informed. Once home, I realized he had multiple puncture wounds and took him to emergency care. I asked for a refund for my remaining prepaid days, since I no longer trusted the staff to properly care for my dog. They refused and said it was not their policy. I tried speaking with a manager many times, but was told she was "out of town" almost every time. Finally we did speak, and she again informed me that there would be no refund, even though my dog had been severely injured. She said I would have to "use" the credit or lose it. To find a compromise, I offered to allow a friend whose dog was currently attending to purchase the package from me and use it for her dog. I was again told no. This took over 3 weeks of voicemails and daily calling to even get a response. At no point did I ask for vet bills to be covered, or even a reimbursement of the time spent prior to this incident. I only, reasonably, asked to be refunded for services paid that had not been fulfilled. The management, ownership, professionalism, and pet care are deplorable. I will be taking legal action, since they refuse to acknowledge what is right. I urge you to go to a different daycare. Started off well when we first moved here a few years ago and we were loyal customers for a while but things went south after the first year. Not just bad customer service but lack of care for the dogs. Eventually we didn't send our dogs back even though we had spent $2000 on a package for them. Did not ask for the money back- we want nothing to do with this place. The last time we went it took them 30 minutes to find me 120 lb dog... eventually they found him in a kennel. No one knew how long he had been there or who had put him there. Your dogs are not safe or well cared for here. Do not send your babies here. I would highly recommend not using this company. I was a loyal customer for well over a year with my dog going 3-4 times a week, participating in the parties they offered as well as training that they used to offer. Over that year time frame my dog was there, many alarming events occurred, including me showing up to an unlocked facility one morning with dogs present but no staff member and my dog coming home limping and no one could tell me when or how it occurred. These events as well as others which I brought to the attention of the manager were never fully resolved but I would continue to send my dog since it was the only facility open before 7am and they made promises of changes/ it not happening again. This September was unfortunately the final straw. My dog was bit by another dog at daycare. I later came to find out my dog was cowering in the corner when this occurred. Apparently, he had been becoming more and more anxious there for the past few weeks, cowering in corners and other dogs approaching him. Up until then, kennel staff had been able to stop any other dog when they were going after my dog while he was cowering. Not once in the report cards they sent out or when I saw staff when I dropped off or picked up my dog did they ever mention him being more anxious, cowering or other dogs going at him and it had been ongoing for WEEKS. I immediately pulled my dog from daycare, and spoke with the manager Jolie. Jolie was very understanding of the situation, and supported my decision but said only the owner can issue the refund I requested for my daycare package I would no longer be using. Jolie said she put in the request and it was then up to the owner to process it. I have been waiting over 2 months for so much as a response from the owner. It took her over one month to even pick up the refund request from the facility. I have called, written emails and have tried in any way I can to speak with the owner with no response, frequently being told that the owner doesn't speak with clients. I am appalled that this is how she treats her loyal customers. The facility has gone massively downhill since I started sending my dog with in my opinion too many dogs and not enough staff. The owner is not involved but does not give her manager the proper tools to handle situations. I would highly advise looking anywhere else to take your dog. read more

TRIGGER WARNING: DOG ATTACKED AT DAYCARE I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO LOVES THIER DOG. BE CAREFUL WITH WHOM YOU TRUST YOUR ANIMALS WITH. THIS IS NOT A SAFE NOR LOVING ENVIRONMENT. I am not one to usually write a review or post online but interacting with this business was an unprofessional nightmare. About a year ago my dog was attacked at this facility. The staff said that he had been in an altercation and was bleeding from his face but that it was broken up immediately. However, when I brought him to the vet for emergency care I found additional bite marks up and down his legs, indicating that staff were not present. At the vet he got stitches on his face and his other wounds on his leg were attended to. I was contacted by the manager Jacki at the time who checked in and shared that the vet bill would be covered by the owner of the dog who had attacked my dog. I reached out over several months and did not hear back. After several attempts I reached the new manager this past January. It is to be noted my attempts to reach out spanned a month or longer. After speaking to the new manager Jolie, she shared that her, "hands are tied because the owner will not budge." She requested the copy of a text that was sent by the previous manager to try and advocate on my behalf. I reached out with the text and request for an incident report for my records to which she replied saying it was too long ago and she did not have an incident report (really a year????). She shared that she had no idea who Luna is. My question is how was she able to contact the owner and know that they are not willing to pay for the damage if now she is not aware who Luna is? In the following email threads, I was told that unfortunately because she started in August she has no idea or would even try to understand what transpired between myself and the previous manager. Upon bringing to light the discrepancies in her stories she attempted to blame me for not having taken care of the issue sooner and not responding immediately to her emails. It is important to note that these email/phone interactions required the emotional labor and burden of following up several times to get a reply. To this day, the vet bill I incurred has still not been remedied and the harm done has not been rectified. I have seen numerous posts about similar interactions with staff and issues with safety at this facility. If anything, I hope this post is helpful in deterring/warning other owners searching for a place for their pups. read more

Phenomenal service and dog care. We boarded our blind and elderly dog for 8 nights. The staff were so kind and so wonderful with our dog. We felt relaxed to have our dog in such great care. When we picked up our dog, we could just tell he was well cared for. The staff even sent pictures in the daily report via email. It was fabulous. But this week was a whole different level. I had reservations for them to feed my cat while I was away. They were supposed to go over 2 days in the week. They NEVER showed. My cat went wo food and water. Kitty managed to break in to the kitchen cabinet and clawed his way in to the food bag. Thank God my neighbor went to check on him. My cat was diabetic so needed to eat every 12 hours and I was across the country, freaking out. Then, because you pay full up front, they refused to refund me for the three visits they didn't show up for! **This is a review for the mobile grooming service. I'm a first-time pet owner and I've never had any of my boys professionally groomed. My H and I have bathed, brushed (teeth and fur), clipped nails, etc for each of my pets since being adopted (over seven years ago). Anyhow, after calling the answering service, I received a sorta/kinda rude voicemail response saying that this company does not travel outside of Central Connecticut for services.. (For what's it worth, I specifically stated in my voicemail that I am a current resident of West Hartford- although the area code from my cell phone says otherwise), but if I lived in Connecticut, the company would be more than happy to accommodate my needs. Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I live in West Hartford. My correspondence with the company has since then been much better. The scheduling is somewhat "ehh" because the mobile van services a number of areas, but it's never too difficult finding a time that works for each party. Anyhow, I was very nervous getting Otie groomed.. but alas, it needed to happen! I had a 1:30pm appointment for my middle furbabe and was running on-time (like I usually like to- haha).. So when the scheduler called and told me that the groomer was at my home at 1:16, I jetttttted home as soon as I could. The groomer, Luis, was so incredibly kind and was very complacent waiting for Otie and myself. Luis told me cat grooming usually takes ~30-45 minutes depending on how crazy the cat is. Honestly, I was thinking it would take an hour's time because my cat CRIES. So when Luis calls me in a half hour's time telling me that Otie is finished, I was ecstatic. I came down and checked out his cool new 'do and loved it! The cost of grooming wasn't AS bad as I initially thought.. It IS an investment, but it's something my H and I are interested in investing for future grooming. read more
