Sad to say I wasn't satisfied by my most recent trip. I do believe we had a groomer change, but no excuse. Groomer was very conservative and I question if she even trimmed anything other than paws and privates. I always request an evening trim, with photo references. Wicket was there for three hours, they did not give me a call to inform me of a delay, was given no bathroom break and was still on the table drying when I got there. Recent price raise to, $100. don't know what is going on with this place. our daughter left her dog with us and we had her go for a trial day as she had gone to Dirty Tails a year ago and it was great. my husband dropped the dog off at 10:30am and was called to pick her up at 10:42am. the dog did not have a chance to readjust to the place, possibly new people and new dogs. unbelievable! the staff did not want to take the time to re-introduce the dog and monitor the behavior, provide positive reinforcement. Clearly lacking knowledge of dog behavior. this dog has been boarded many times at various facilities, as my dtr travels for work frequently. she has never had a problem before. read more

They did such a great grooming job with my Yorkie puppy! I have never actually been inside this place myself, but I drive past it all the time and it looks like such a cute little place where you can get your pup groomed and also buy treats and gifts and things. My husband brought our Yorkie puppy here this past week to be groomed and I was a little nervous. We only had him groomed one time prior and the place we brought him had shaved him and he did not look like a Yorkie at all. Dirty Tails actually took the time to work out the tangles and NOT shave him. I appreciate that! They made him soooo soft and fluffy and kept the length on his hair, keeping him looking like a Yorkie! They also sent him home with a very handsome bandana. I was thrilled with how he came out and appreciate the time they took, even though our puppy is a little hyper and very squirmy and difficult to work with. NO MORE. Went to dirty tails for years and always had a very good experience. I brought my three dogs in like normal and when I got home (my son had picked them up) I was appalled. Two of them their hair was not cut even around their head evenly and had extra bunches sticking out! I was like really!!! My other dog has a cut so bad from the clipping shears it took over a week to even to start to look better. I called back to talk it over and was promised a call back from the owner either that day or definitely the next. It's going on three weeks now and I have had no response. Classic dump and run $$. I've been bringing my dog Lulu to Dirty Tails for doggie daycare for 2 years. I am SO particular about my dog's care and handling, but I trust the staff at Dirty Tails completely. They're lovely and they love Lulu. It's a special place because they keep the size of their daycare limited to ensure a safe playing environment for the pups. I brought my Bichon in for a desperately-needed grooming last week. He was so overdue for a cut that he either required some serious extra brushing/extra groom time, or they'd have to cut him super short. Since I'd asked that his coat be left as long as possible, they called me mid-groom to ask what I'd like to do. (I said keep brushing.) Other groomers might've taken the easy way out, not bother to call, and just said that cutting him super short was necessary. I really appreciated the communication and the extra time they took to work on him. My pup came out bright white, smelled amazing, and had a perfect cut. The staff was great - the girl at the desk is an obvious dog lover and was so sweet to my dog, the groomer came out to ask specifically how I'd like him cut (and obviously listened!), and the owner (or manager?) came out to greet me and then again to check in with me post-groom. The building itself is unassuming from the outside, but the inside is really nice - and clean! If you're looking for a groomer, this should be it. And if you already have a groomer, you might want to switch it up and give these guys a shot! read more

Nicest people around. My dog was a mess literally. Yes he had to be shaved down but they did an awesome job. Hours are very convenient, and I will always say about any vendor, if you're not happy bring it to their attention, if you don't get your response you expect that's one thing but communicate first. That's the only way corrections can be made. Was my dog happy? Yes. And he was comfortable running around. I have been bringing my Cavapoo here for grooming for about 3 three now, 4 times a year. I have always had a good experience and have been meaning to write a review. They always confirm what I want for services when we arrive and make sure I am happy before we leave. Everyone I speak with on the phone or see in person has been friendly, professional and obviously loves dogs! Today I brought my new fur baby, a 4 month old Havenese, in for her first grooming. They did an excellent job and even gave me a first haircut certificate and a cute little gift bag with a lock of her fur in it. She looked totally stress free and relaxed. The staff was amazing, and i played with this teeny tiny cocker spaniel named Princess while my baby's nails were clipped. The decor, staff, and equipment are impeccable. The location is inviting, and my very nervous large dog LOVED the groomers. When I told the owner it was my dog's birthday, they tied a birthday bandana on him, and gave him a dog cookie that looked like a birthday cupcake. He gobbled it, and he is very picky about treats. The prices are incredibly reasonable. $15 for a claw trim and file. We will definitely be regular customers. I'm also considering using the daycare services to socialize my dog. read more

I used to love this place. I brought my dog there for a few years and the groomers Christine and Linda( who is no longer there) did a great job with my dog. I noticed a lot of turn over with great groomers. The last two times I brought him there I had a weird sense of anxiety and I did not feel confortable with my baby being there. His nails were not done which was part of his grooming original process the entire time we were going there. This made me question a lot. Intuition is great, the owner is a Trump supporter. We were Facebook friends and she spoke very inhumanely after he won. If she can be that mean and cruel to people, I cannot trust her with my dog. The people who work there were always good to him but I do not trust the owner. read more

I've been taking my dog here to be groomed for quite a few years and never had a problem before. I brought him in for a grooming right before Christmas, and had warned them about a growth he's had between his legs for quite some time. I was told they'd take note of that. Well when I picked him up that evening it looked entirely different than it did before I dropped him off. The very first picture is about 30 minutes before he got groomed, the second picture is after the fact. I have been in contact with the manager, Kristen, who states they take no responsibility for that and that they refuse to reimburse me any of the several hundred dollars I have put into two different vet visits for my dog now as well as antibiotics and different ointments and what not. The vet also said because of its current state now that it's been cut into and infected, it needs to be surgically removed which will run me $1500+. I am very disappointed with the way this is all being handled, as they should take responsibility for their actions. When I mentioned I'll have to get an animal attorney involved, she responded with "I'm well prepared for whatever you bring my way". Will NOT be returning to this place. What a shame. read more

This was our first time trying the groomers out and it was horrible. After waiting 15 minutes to talk with the groomer for the appointment, she completely disregarded what we said to her. We asked them not to shave our medium sized dog and just trim the hair on his body. The groomer did not listen and shaved him extremely short. It was also extremely expensive. I had great experience with this place for few years started at the old small location in Plainville. Then after loosing my dog i wasn't in touch with Dirty Tails for 4 years, but i noticed that they had moved. Now i have new puppy for 4 month and it was time for her first hear cut. Thankfully, i knew where is the new location of my old friends and i confidently made appointment for grooming, bath and nail clipping. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with big smile by Kristen and Cristina. New place looks fabulous, it is much bigger and roomy. Now there is a dog daycare available too. If you go in with closed eyes , you will never can guess that you are in animal care facility. Smells clean and fresh, and of course all dogs are happy, whether they are in daycare or for grooming. I happily left my 6 month girl for few hours. When i came to pick her up the end, the result exceeded my expectations. She looked just excellent. Groomer did everything exactly as i explained to Kristen (the owner). Alfa (my dog) looked happy and like a toy with cotton candy coating. Good job Kristen. I used to love bringing my dogs here. I've been bringing them here since they were at their old location on north Washington St. We never had an issue until recently. A few months ago I brought them in and when I took them home the next day one of my dogs got sick with vomiting and diarrhea. The day after my other dog came down with the same thing and it went on for three days until I ended up taking them to an emergency vet so they could get treated and fluids. I called them and asked them if they had any other dogs sick and they denied it. I'm not entirely sure they caught it there but it doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. I kept going afterwards because I still liked the job they did and I thought maybe they ate something (even though one of my dogs is incredibly picky and won't eat anything he shouldn't). Then recently I walked in to pick up my dogs and the owner was there and she cashed me out and only after that did she bother to tell me that they cut my puppy's paw. She did not even apologize for it all she said was "she moved and she got cut, and I'm just telling you because I'm obligated to." And she didn't even ask if I wanted a refund or discount. So a few days later I end up taking her to the vet and sure enough it was getting infected and she needed to be put on antibiotics for two weeks. The one decent thing the owner did say was that if she had to go to the vet she would cover the bill. So I called her up and left a message, didn't hear back from her for 5 days and when I did she was very unfriendly and curt on the phone and once again did not even apologize. Like I said I used to love taking my dogs here but it seems like since they have expanded they care less about customer loyalty and more about money. He is really small, but he doesn't like the clippers so he moves around a lot when they use them. They were really nice about it and he came out looking so cute! I first started going to Dirty Tails 4 years ago with my Pug. He's not good with baths, so I was very hesitant. I was recommended to Dirty Tails from a friend, and she could have not recommended a better place! All of the girls, especially the owner, have been fantastic with my Pug. They are gentle and you can tell that everyone there is a dog lover. I now bring my second dog there as well. She's a rescue with endless energy, but they are just as great with her as they are with my Pug. My dogs usually get a basic grooming, but the groomers are always very thorough. The owner goes the extra mile to talk with me about my dogs, and makes me feel like more than just a client. I also think the prices are affordable. Definitely take your pups to Dirty Tails! read more
