Our dog loves going there. Doesn't even look back when we drop him off. They take such great care of him and he has lots of friends.

Our dog Willow loves it there!! And always comes home cleaner than when she left :)…read more The staff are very nice and friendly and often have their dogs with them as well to play!

Our first incident here was when our dog slipped out of her collar when a staff member was handling her outside of the building. Our dog ran into the busy road and narrowly survived. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake. Last week when we picked our dog up at the end of the day we were informed that she had a gash on her leg and had been limping in the morning. We took our dog to a veterinary urgent care facility and, five hours and 1500 dollars later, we were informed by the vet that she had most likely been bitten due to the nature of the wound and the level of pocketing. Our dog now has stitches, a drain, has to take medication, and has to be monitored in a cone for 10-14 days. The following day I spoke with the owners. I asked why they hadn't called us when our dog was limping in the morning, and why they again failed to inform us that they found a bleeding wound on my dog in the afternoon. The male owner spent the conversation downplaying the event and arguing with me, claiming they had only seen a "little red dot" and that "these things happen when dogs play". He also came up with excuses like, "it's hard to see wounds sometimes because of fur," yet our dog has short white fur. No matter what, the owners/staff should have called us when they noticed that our dog was injured. They refused to help with the vet bill, but did refund our daycare package.

3rd Class In for a 3 Month Old Puppy... Wow Watch Out!…read more We started off at Canis, and it was truly awesome. Unfortunately, after a few sessions, the co-owner, Derrick, messaged me through their chat platform to say that our puppy had been making noise in her crate that day. This was a one-off situation -- she'd had some stomach issues in the days prior -- but he warned that if it happened two more times, she would be removed from the program. I understand it's their program and their rules, but his communication style was extremely direct -- almost as if he were speaking to a dog -- harsh and matter-of-fact. He told me that how I receive and perceive his messages is "on me." Talk about customer-oriented! If he ever took a class on people or management, he might learn that there's an old saying: perception is reality. I also had a few billing questions, and since texts weren't resolving the issue, I asked multiple times for him to call me, which he eventually did. From the start of that call, he was defensive and completely closed to any feedback about his communication style. I was honestly shocked at how the conversation unfolded and even asked if he was the owner or manager. Despite all this, I genuinely wanted to continue working with them. In short, they removed us from the program the very next day and promptly refunded our fees. My advice: don't offer him any feedback -- he doesn't take it well. It's a real shame, because the staff at Canis are wonderful, and the facility and programs themselves are truly impressive. We had been raving fans and recommended them to everyone, so this turned out to be a very disappointing experience.

CMDT is the absolute BEST! When looking for trainers and puppy/dog socialization spots my husband…read moreand I did extensive research and interviewed places to ensure we felt comfortable and confident that our pup would be in the best hands. I cannot express how glad we have been with our decision to bring our dog to CMDT. Bee and Derrick are wonderful. They make themselves available (within reason) for any questions or help with training. The classes are informative and have been instrumental in our dog's fantastic training progress. Our pup has always come home happy, healthy, and tired from a day of socialization and training when she goes to puppy daycare, and we love watching the livestream so we can see her having a blast. What I personally appreciate the most about CMDT, beyond the care and compassion of the trainers who undoubtedly love the dogs, is the method of training they provide. No harsh punishment necessary. The dogs learn through basic positive psychology and reward association. We do the homework between classes and have seen our dog become more well mannered, confident, and happy through good training. If she could leave a review I think she would say CMDT is her favorite spot, given how excited she is every time we pull up. Thank you to Bee, Derick, and the other trainers who have treated our sweet girl like their own precious pup!

Disclaimer: Unique (embarrassing) and crazy story -…read more Was looking for a place to board our cat while my wife and I took a cross country road trip... and glad we picked this place! Very accommodating and friendly staff. We had to take a flight from San Diego to Boston and then drive to CT to drop our cat off. I was only going to be in CT for one day and fly back on Sunday. It was a Saturday and my flight into Boston was three hours late which would result in me not making it in time and not having a place to drop off our cat. I called stressed out and they were so accommodating and said that they would make sure someone was there 2 hours after closing...on a Saturday! 5 stars customer service and flexibility! Our cat was treated very well despite the real pain he can be when not used to his surroundings. They knew exactly how to handle him and when we picked him up he was happy and well taken care of.

They absolutely destroyed his coat and coloring. Giving him razor burn all over his face and paws. When I asked for a refund, the manager was both rude and unprofessional. When she called, she already had an attitude stating that she wouldn't talk to me about my our dog. Then she proceeds to try and blame us for his hair cut by claiming that we don't take care of our dog and "bush him." Then to top everything off, she has the audacity to hang up on me when I told her there was no reason for him to come out looking like that. As you can see in the before photos he is completely maintained. These people should not be allowed near any dogs.
