Our first contact with Kendra was in February for a May event. She was helpful, responsive, and took great care of us even though our date happened to coincide with one of White's busiest days: Mother's Day! We booked a private room for three hours with access to the grand buffet. We were not able to provide an exact headcount as we told guests to stop in whenever they could, but Kendra and her team were still able to accommodate us. The staff, Kendra and Myles, greeted our guests warmly, provided cocktail service, continuously replenished water, coffee, and juice, and quickly replaced place settings as our 40-50 guests came and went during the morning. When the room started to get full with the original five tables that were set, Kendra and her staff set up an additional table without even being asked to do so. They had such a keen eye for the details and really made the event run perfectly. A special treat was that Chris, the owner of LaFrance Hospitality, made a point of coming over to the hosts to thank us for our patronage. So nice of him to do that on such a busy Sunday morning. The buffet was plentiful and the food was delicious. All of our guests enjoyed their meals, and even on such a crowded day the lines moved very quickly and nothing ran out. Overall, I would highly recommend White's of Westport for any special occasion event, and especially working with Kendra Mello.

We made a reservation and seated as soon as we got there. The host is very nice. The menu is great. I liked that they had lattes on the menu and not just regular coffee. Although, we had both. The latte was small, but very good. I ordered the breakfast tacos without me and substituted the mozzarella for cheddar cheese. I got three pretty good sized tacos. That were really good, not a ton of flavor, but they were definitely fresh. We also got an order of the PB&J stuffed French toast, which was absolutely delicious. The peanut butter was warm inside and the French toast was cooked perfectly. We got a blueberry pancake for the table because they have homemade blueberry butter. That was absolutely delicious. No syrup needed! Overall, I really enjoyed the food, and the place was very cute inside. The bathroom was a little rundown and only had one working stall, but other than that it's definitely five stars. We will be back.

We went for brunch and it was filled with about a 15 minute waiting period. Time went by fast, they took our number and texted when the table was ready. The place runs very well and you can tell they're experienced with a busy environment. The food was pretty decent, but not necessarily something I would crave or come back to again and again. The omelettes were fresh, the pancakes were very reminiscent of being cake flavored, service was quick, and prices were about as expected.

Review for The Bayside Restaurant - Westport, MA Sand, suds,…read moreand that sweet, sweet lobstah! Anytime I find myself in Dartmouth, there's one non-negotiable: a pilgrimage to The Bayside. It's not just a restaurant--it's a seaside ritual. A full-on coastal vibe check. By day, this place hums with a tide of locals and sun-kissed visitors, all riding that same salty wavelength. The outside seating? Chef's kiss. Whether you're perched at the surfboard table (yes, really), chilling by the firepit, or posted up at the outdoor bar chillin' in the shade or soaking in the rays (depending on time of day), it always feels like a low-key beach party. Add in that Scooby-Doo-style van hawking t-shirts and tank tops and you've got yourself a beach fiesta postcard . Drink-wise, they're reppin' the South Coast with a rotating lineup of New England brews and a cocktail menu that says "kick off those flip flops and stay a while." The chowder? Clam or seafood--either one is a pregame MVP. Creamy, flavorful, and loaded with sea-kissed goodness. But the main event? That lobstah roll. Oh baby. Warm. Nekked. Buttered. No mayo nonsense (that's how I roll). Just pure, buttery shellfish glory piled high in a toasted split-top roll. Served with fries that actually hold their own--crispy, salty, and impossible to stop picking at even after you "swear you're full." Service stays solid despite the crowd--friendly, laid-back, and on point with the refills and check-ins. They know what they're doing, even when the patio's packed and the orders are flying. The Bayside is a beach town legend. Come for the lobstah roll, stay for the surfboard tables, the sun-soaked vibes, and the kind of carefree energy that makes you wish you lived on a boat. (Or one of them campers along the coast)

Until yesterday morning, the holder of that title was 3 Monkeys in Richmond, Virginia. That title changed hands at the bar at Jax Diner yesterday in Middletown, RI. The man running the food, I think his name is John (my apologies if memory fails me!), is a force, in both a physical and epicurean sense. He towers o er the grill with a presence and makes the best sausage gravy I have ever tasted, and that is saying something. I practically ignored everything else on that considerable plate of food because I didn't dare leave a scrap of the biscuit and gravy! It's that good. Title worthy good. It's made to order too - yup, you heard that right. When I sat down and told the server that this was my first time there, the local guy to my left chuckled and said, without looking up from his plate, "it won't be his last." When our eyes met, I saw the truth with no words exchanged, that I had found my way accidentally into the club of Jax believers, those who truly understood what makes it great there. And now I do too. Go find the secret - it's at Jax, a cool little humble diner doing great things. Enjoy!
