I actually really like this facility. When I needed a storage unit for about 4 months while I was waiting to move into my first apartment, I needed somewhere cheap. I called multiple locations and got various deals, but when I called Placer Self Storage, they were so accommodating! They said they could price match for me and I actually got two months free after paying for the first month, which was not one of their promotions or offers. When I was in the office, they were so kind and hospitable, and made sure to tell me all about getting a new manager that week, just so that I was aware. They offered me water and snacks while I was waiting for things to process, and since I was about 5 months pregnant, they even found me a unit closer to the entrance. These may not be the biggest things to brag about, but they we're all out of a good heart. I would definitely recommend this place to others. read more

Here is yet another business that in my opinion doesn't deserve to be in business. If I could give them "minus" stars, I certainly would. Where to start - I had a storage space here for about 10 years. One day, I showed up to pull some stuff out of storage and discovered that some of my prize possessions had been stolen from our storage unit. The funny part was that some of those possessions were quite heavy, and they couldn't have done it after-hours because they had to drive a truck in to load it up (too heavy to toss over a fence). My wife and I checked with the managers on site, and they told us that they were on vacation during the time of the break-in. The manager even told us that their personal access codes had been used while they were on vacation, and only they knew what the manager's access codes were. Strange, that - if only they know the manager's access codes, and they were on vacation, clearly someone used their codes to get in... Anyway, we asked to see if they could get the tapes of the days in question, and the manager said that they don't have video surveillance, nor do they have any types of alarms or other indication (other than a renter complaining) that they have suffered a break-in. They only have a record of what gate codes were used to access the only gate by date and time. A quick check of the Rocklin police showed that that business - Placer Self Storage - has had over 18 burglaries in 7 years - more than 2 a year. Wouldn't you, as the owner of a business, put in security cameras (they're really, really inexpensive these days and their accessible over the Internet) - or at least change the manager's access codes? The owner of this business - and its managers - are very nonchalant with me about their security. The owner refused to speak to me about it, saying that any break-in was my responsibility, and that they (Placer Self Storage) aren't responsible for my losses because I agreed to hold them harmless in the renter's agreement. Well, for starters, they advertise themselves to be "...safe." If this is safe, I'd hate to see "unsecured". By advertising themselves as safe, you assume that they take every reasonable precaution to protect their tenants against losses or theft; but doing absolutely NOTHING toward enhancing security - especially if you've averaged 2.5 burglaries for each of the last 7 years, and you're too cheap to spend $300 on a camera system that records people - and WORST YET - you don't even change the manager's access codes after they clearly had been compromised...you don't give a crap about your renters, and you don't really care if you're falsely claiming to be a safe facility. I get it, Placer Self Storage. You're in business to make money, not give a crap about your customers. Well, I can tell you this - as soon as people find out what an abysmally poor loss record you have, and how badly you treat your renters, you probably won't be in business for much longer. I would never do business with this company or with any of their properties (they own another storage facility in Granite Bay). I would keep clear of these people that seem to treat their customers with such disdain. They don't seem to care about you or your valuables, and they seem do everything they can to make it easy for thieves to get in, steal your stuff, and get away with it. As long as your security isn't costing them any money, why would such a company care? read more

I have only good things to say about placer self storage in Rockland. I had the biggest unit available for 2 years at a great price. They have trucks available for rental the staff is friendly they send a nice reminder when rents due and I never received a late fee even pain on the last date able to pay. They made moving out easy they gave me an extra day to make sure what it be stressful and never gave me a hard time. read more

I was a long time renter here about 5 years. Rented multiple units (up to 4) for a long time. The prior management was great. They were very helpful, politely answered questions about on site security, etc. I had no problems here until recently. The new manager guy is rude, unprofessional, and talked to me about a supposed conversation we never had. He got very defensive over standard security questions people have when renting. Other comments that were made were flat out creepy! We left because of this guy's bad attitude and rudeness! read more
