All of the other storage facilities that I've used didn't require a 30 day notice. So when I went into the office to close my account, I was asked if I gave my 30 day notice. As she asked that, I vaguely remembered going over that when signing the contract with them. It was definitely my fault. I just want to warn people so they don't make the same mistake, because they will charge you an extra month. So I'm paying for a unit that I'm not even using. I called multiple locations and got various deals, but when I called Placer Self Storage, they were so accommodating! They said they could price match for me and I actually got two months free after paying for the first month, which was not one of their promotions or offers. When I was in the office, they were so kind and hospitable, and made sure to tell me all about getting a new manager that week, just so that I was aware. They offered me water and snacks while I was waiting for things to process, and since I was about 5 months pregnant, they even found me a unit closer to the entrance. These may not be the biggest things to brag about, but they we're all out of a good heart. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

When I first moved into my unit, the next door unit was filled with items reeking of cat urine…read more When I reported it, they took 5 months to have the neighbor remove their items. My blankets, mattresses and other belongings smelled so bad it was nauseating. They refused any compensation and I had no means to move all of my stuff out. Fast forward to now, they offer discounts to new customers but refuse to extend the same discounts to existing customers. The employee even called the owner to ask and he said he is unwilling to offer anything to an existing customer. So they would rather lose a long time customer instead of rewarding a loyal one? I was then told that i can have someone else rent the unit under their name. I would have to move everything out, close out my contract and then move everything back into a whole different unit. I will take my business elsewhere ASAP. Without the discounts they are one of the more expensive companies anyways. Just another case of horrible customer relations.

Today I phoned their office and spoke with Cynthia- I have to say any organization would be delighted to have her on their team! I had a family issue come up the last couple of weeks- because of this I could not pay our monthly fee on time. Cynthia was not only a professional customer service pro- she was able to waive my late fee as a one time courtesy- this may not seem like a Big Deal- but like I said- it made my day!!
