I felt like the unit was already overpriced for the size and since I've had the unit the past year and a half, I've had two rent increases. The only negative thing I have to say is beware of the requirement to provide a 30 day notice before you decide to empty your storage. All of the other storage facilities that I've used didn't require a 30 day notice. So when I went into the office to close my account, I was asked if I gave my 30 day notice. As she asked that, I vaguely remembered going over that when signing the contract with them. It was definitely my fault. I just want to warn people so they don't make the same mistake, because they will charge you an extra month. So I'm paying for a unit that I'm not even using. Other than that, this place is pretty good.

My husband and I needed somewhere to…read morestore our stuff for a single month and they were the only place who had the size choices that we needed. I went into the office to rent our unit and it was all very easy. We wrote our check and didn't have to deal with them a single other time. The man I worked with was very nice and quick working. When we went to check out, we let them know through a call and they inspected the unit after we left since it was on their lunch break. The units are all individually alarmed that turns on and off when you enter your code. The only con I could see is their unit open hours, which are from 7am-7pm. This was not a problem for us and he said if we had a special occasion that we needed to get into our unit early or late, such as movers dropping items off, he could extend our hours. I could see it possibly being a problem though in the summer when it is light out until 10pm and you could still use those hours, but we did not run into that problem.

Here it goes... Let's start with the fact that I had called SCSS on New Years Eve at approximately 12:30 pm, and I had come to discover that the office had closed about 30 minutes prior for the holiday. They offered to stay and wait for me to show me around. I had declined, but the offer itself was very generous! I had told them I would be back that week... Later that week, we had stopped by to take a tour of the place. Very, very, very, very clean! It was like it was a brand new facility. I had known about this facility for some time and remember when it had opened what seems like a decade ago and it still looks like it had just opened. The security features of the facility are top notch for its price level! I loved how each unit has fire sprinklers... you may say "Well what if your stuff gets wet?" I would rather it get wet than get burned, at least you can still tell what it was! The facility is well laid out, and they even make sure that plastic mats are laid down in each unit to minimize moisture! That's huge! In my opinion, the most important aspect of a storage unit is the management. I have yet to meet his wife, but Sonny is on another level of service. He is so nice, super accommodating, easy to talk to, and he runs a tight ship! When we signed for the storage unit, it was raining A LOT and was gusty, yet Sonny jumped into his cart and immediately cleaned out our unit and dried it off and left towels for us so that we could dry anything we needed. He really made us feel right at home from the very beginning. I can't say enough good things about this man. I have opted to bring in a check for all of my payments rather than opting for automatic payments so that I can catch up with Sonny and the rest of his staff.
