Caribbean Dynasty Restaurant & Lounge - Baltimore…read more I stopped by Caribbean Dynasty for a lunchtime bite, and the owner was pleasant. The restaurant is easy to find, with close-by paid parking. I tried the sample plate with curry chicken, white rice, and cabbage. The curry chicken was flavorful and tender -- truly delicious! The cabbage was seasoned just right, adding that authentic Caribbean touch. I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. I was expecting $18 value platter but received a ($15) value platter. It appears it may come alive at night -- with a DJ, happy hour specials, and a lounge vibe. Overall, Caribbean Dynasty offers great flavors, friendly service for a grab a go lunch order .

We are not native to Maryland but was Hungary after the R&B event on the Water. The Restaurant was not crowded when we arrived but had to wait over an hour for our food. Our order was simple. We had 3 order of Wingettes (Lemon Pepper, Honey Lemon Pepper, Thai Chili & Old Bay), Rice & Beans, Chicken Pattie and Coco Bread. Only Wingettes worth the time was the normal Lemon Pepper. They were Fried & seasoned perfectly. They also were a decent size. The other Wingettes were overcooked and lacking flavor. Maybe they looked so small because of how overcooked they were. We waited too long to send them back and risk waiting another hour!!! I've had some delicious Honey Lemon Pepper and this had no semblance of it. I tasted some Honey & it was from the plate and not the wingette. The Rice & Beans was dry. The Chicken patty was overcooked. Never saw a burnt one in a Restaurant or at least not served to someone. We wasn't drunk enough to enjoy the food. (I don't drink so... was not working for me ). The Coco Bread was good (probably because they didn't have to cook it). The worse part is we waited over an hour!!! Yes the Waiter was apologetic but it was NOT worth the wait. What a terrible representation of a business. I can't understand a bad night when this is what you do for a living. Just was not good. It's the worst restaurant I've been to. I do not recommend.

Both me and my guest noticed it, so it wasn't just me. We both ordered the oxtail sandwichs, with my guest got Brussels sprouts and I got the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was probably the best thing I had. I'd order it again, although I could've done without what I'm pretty sure were chunks of garlic mixed in. The oxtail sandwich, though, was pretty disappointing. The oxtail itself wasn't particularly flavorful, the cocoa bread wasn't as sweet as I expected, and mine was slightly burnt. Overall, it was just okay. The biggest issue for me was the price. They automatically add a 20% gratuity, and after everything was said and done, we paid around $90 for two entrees and two sides. I have no problem spending money on food when the experience is worth it, but when I compare what I paid to how the food actually tasted, the value just wasn't there. If the prices were lower, I could probably justify giving this 3 stars. But at around $90 for what we got, I just cant give it more than 2 stars.

I was so hyped to finally try Papi Cuisine after hearing all the rave reviews, but whew... my…read moreexperience was not it We had reservations around 4PM on a Sunday, and parking was already a nightmare. The line was out the door--even with a reservation, we had to stand outside in the cold. And I'm anemic, so standing out there shivering felt like punishment (at this point, I'm basically an ice sculpture by the door). When we finally got seated, they put us at the table right by the entrance--every time that door opened, a breeze hit me like a slap from Elsa herself . The bar was packed too, which sucked because I would've loved to sit there with my partner and vibe. It was clear they were super short-staffed. No waitress ever came to our table--we had to scan a QR code, order through our phones, and even pay before the food came. Felt more like a fast-casual spot than a nice dinner date. Our drinks took forever and when they finally arrived, they were watered down and weak. By that point we were ready to go, but since we already paid through the mobile menu, we were stuck. It took about 45 more minutes to get our food. By now I couldn't even feel my fingers or toes. But when that food hit the table? Whewww... it slapped ‍ Everything we ordered was chef's kiss. My partner and I both agreed the food was the one saving grace of the entire experience. It was flavorful, fresh, and worth the hype. Just wish we could've actually enjoyed it. We spent a good amount of money and left feeling like we would've been better off just DoorDashing it and eating at home with some Netflix. My partner, who never complains, was genuinely upset about the lack of a server. And I get it--dining out is supposed to be an experience, not just a transaction. So overall... this is a mixed review. Food? 5 stars, no doubt. Experience? 1 star, and I'm being generous. I'll probably try them again on a super slow day (whenever that is), but as far as this visit goes, I'm leaving a 3-star rating--and that's only because the food was so good.
