Finally got a chance to stop in this past weekend. A friend of mine saw a few of their Instagram reels and wanted to check the spot out. So we had an early dinner reservation when they first opened for the evening around 5: 30 pm and was quickly seated with no issues. It was pretty on the quiet side, but I will say around 6 or 7 pm the crowd started filing in. I highly recommend that you make a reservation to secure a table. Our server for the evening was Maya and she was really phenomenal, courteous and attentive. Me and my friend were not that hungry so we just kept it light with appetizers and cocktails. We both did the smoked jerk wings and did a round of drinks. Their cocktails are mainly rum based drinks, but they also offer other cocktails if you are not a fan of rum. The wings were really good. After looking for a late restaurant for our Anniversary!!! This restaurant fit the bill. My favorite dish was the salmon tacos were absolutely fire . The oxtail with a side of curry chicken ~ wasn't a fan of the curry chicken but the oxtail was delicious. The waitress was very attentive and the chef came out to greet us. Update following my most recent visit: I previously gave Jerk at Nite five stars because I genuinely loved the food, so this visit was disappointing. I came with a friend after Charm City Live, and between waiting to be seated and waiting for our food, we spent roughly two and a half hours there. At one point, we were told we couldn't be seated because they were out of silverware. By the time our food arrived, it was around midnight, and I'd honestly lost much of my appetite. The jerk chicken was still good, the presentation was appealing, and the portions were generous enough for plenty of leftovers. However, the food wasn't quite as good as I remembered, and it didn't make up for the excessive wait. I understand busy nights happen, but this experience fell well short of my previous visits. Went to Jerk At Nite on a Saturday around 8:30 pm and we did not have a reservation. There was a line of people waiting to be seated and we were told it would be about a 30 minute wait. The waiting/seating situation was probably the only part of the night that I didn't like. It was a little disorganized. While we were waiting, people kept going up to the host asking when they were going to be seated. They definitely need to come up with a better system for that. Once we got seated though, we had a really good time. Our waitress was super nice, full of energy and just had good vibes. The food did not disappoint at all! The beef patties were perfectly seasoned and the jerk wings were delicious. We also had the oxtails, rice and peas and cabbage and everything was a hit. I'm definitely ready to go back. I stopped by Jerk At Nite last night, and I'm not sure if they were having an off night, but the experience was disappointing. We were seated immediately, which made sense because the restaurant wasn't busy. Unfortunately, our server never came over, so we sat for quite a while without even being offered water. Eventually, the manager/host noticed we'd been waiting and took our order himself. We ordered the tacos, wings, beef Pattie's, and mac and cheese. The tacos were absolutely amazing and honestly worth the long wait. However, the wings were undercooked and literally cold in the middle. The mac and cheese had great presentation and good flavor, but it also wasn't heated through. The top layer was melted, but the center was ice cold. The beef patties were delicious! Once a waiter finally came to our table with drinks, he promised us a complimentary second round, but it never arrived. The manager did try to make things right by offering us free shots at the bar, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has an authentic Jamaican vibe. That said, the upholstered seating could use some attention. I sank so far into the couch that I was sitting noticeably lower than the table, making it uncomfortable to eat. On a positive note, the upstairs bathroom was clean and well maintained. I debated between giving 2 or 3 stars, but ultimately went with a 3 because the food was good. It seems as though the restaurant is trying to reposition itself as a fine dining restaurant rather than a more relaxed casual one. The day we came the hostess was telling patrons that going forward a new dress code would be enforced. Our server also told us about new Michelin-like drinks that they are rolling out. There's nothing wrong with that, but the delivery to guests - especially regarding the dress code was a turn-off. That day there was a small party there for a birthday. To celebrate the birthday, the restaurant blasted happy birthday music that completely drowned out the voice of someone sitting at the same table as you. It was very inconsiderate of other guests. The food took a long time to come out which is not a big deal. However, the portion size did not justify or match the cost. Also, the Mac and cheese was an additional $6 which was shocking (2 sides are included with the di yardie). In addition to the disappointing portion size, the chicken was cold even though it was served over a flame. This place exceeded my expectations in a good way. The ambiance is amazing and the staff is super friendly. They play a lot of reggae music which is cool and they even have a display table where people outside can see you eating inside. The only thing I would recommend is when the customer is paying for the server to take a step back, when paying I felt like she was watching to see if or what her tip would have been. The food was soo flavorful and was extremely hot after we had it delivered to the table. The manager came over and asked me about food accommodations and once I was done packing up my food to go a server came over and grabbed my bowl just in time . **Jerk at Nite--what could I say about it?** Well, it's located on the corner of Fayette and Eutaw Streets in downtown Baltimore. Inside, the decor is exotic, with eclectic furnishings, synthetic plants, large paintings of Bob Marley, and lots of neon signage. The music was loud, and it made it difficult for an older person like me to hear the hostess and waitstaff. The tables are small, and if you're claustrophobic or prefer a comfortable buffer between yourself and complete strangers, you may want to ask for a high-top table. I didn't take the high-top because I struggle with balancing myself on those chairs. I'll start by saying that the food was delicious. I started with a rum punch and bottled water. I'll mention more about the water later. We ordered the jerk chicken family-style, along with two sides. There were two things that were most concerning about my experience at Jerk at Nite: the pricing and the portions. There was a major mismatch between what Jerk at Nite charges and what they deliver. The mac and cheese is $12, and they deliver a small bowl that can hold about one measuring cup of mac and cheese. The jerk chicken was cooked according to the standard Caribbean method, but it was dry. When I asked for some sauce, the waitstaff brought a small shot glass of jerk sauce. This was supposed to be enough for two people. There was another concern about cleanliness and sanitation. The waitstaff brought our drinking straws to the table, and they weren't wrapped in paper--something I've become accustomed to having since COVID. Then I was asked if I would like "tap" water. I said no and asked for bottled water instead. The bottled water came to the table in a 1-liter-sized bottle with the top already removed. I didn't drink it. I would also like to mention that the table next to ours had tap water. Their water arrived in a jar that looked like a repurposed Tropicana orange juice bottle. What was even more concerning was that the water had bits of something floating in the bottom. That's when I knew I wasn't drinking any water. Lastly, the pricing. On the menu, there's fine print that mentions the service fee and specifically states that the service fee is **NOT a tip**. And the waitstaff didn't seem put off by asking you at checkout if you wanted to leave an additional tip. I've been to Jerk at Nite countless times and while the service isn't great every time last Saturday (8/15) was awful. The food is always a 10/10 so a few things I let slide. We got there around 6PM and was seated immediately the watier let us know he was new and just starting today!! After that the service went down hill from him not knowing which buttons to push, to not bringing us water, sides and completely forgetting about us throughout the night. FAMILY REVIEW: (3.5 stars if half points are considered) Took my littles (ages 4 and 6) for a night out to eat as a way to end the Winter break. The food was flavorful, the ambience was on point, and the service was genuinely stellar--attentive without hovering, which is always a win (shout-out to Kaya, or Caya, ??) Now... the oxtails. 1 Star -- Very Disappointing Experience My boyfriend and I came to Jerk at Nite with another couple for a double date after attending an R&B on the Water event at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. We were genuinely excited to come here. We had seen the restaurant all over TikTok, read the great reviews, loved the atmosphere we saw online, and were really looking forward to finally trying the food. This was also a rare night out for me without my kids, so this was supposed to be a special evening. Unfortunately, the experience at Jerk at Nite completely ruined the night for us. We had a 10:00 PM reservation for four and arrived around 9:45 PM on Saturday, August 15th. There was already a line when we arrived. I went to the host stand simply to ask to use the restroom and was asked whether I had a reservation. I confirmed that I did and gave the last name on the reservation. I was initially being seated, but then a manager came over and redirected everyone. I was eventually directed through the speakeasy entrance to use the restroom. When I came back out, my boyfriend needed to use the restroom as well, and he was directed somewhere else. After all of that, we were STILL standing in line. Despite having a 10:00 PM reservation, we weren't actually seated until around 10:15 PM. Once we were finally seated, it took another 5-10 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink orders. Then it took approximately 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Two of the drinks were fountain drinks, so there really wasn't any reason for that kind of wait. One of the alcoholic drinks was apparently made incorrectly and had to be comped, and another drink was so bad that my friend didn't even finish it. My boyfriend ordered tacos, which came out relatively quickly--about 20 minutes after we sat down--because I assume they were considered an appetizer. However, since that was his actual meal, he ended up sitting there waiting for the rest of us for another 20+ minutes before he even started eating. Then came the biggest issue: our food. We waited approximately an hour after ordering and still had not received our meals. At that point, we asked to speak to a manager. The manager came over and told us he would go check on our order. We waited another 15 minutes with no food and no update. At that point, it was getting close to 11:30 PM. I asked to speak to the manager again and told him that, at this point, we didn't even want to eat there anymore. I asked them to simply box everything up because we wanted to leave. Almost immediately after that conversation, our food finally came out. At that point, I didn't even want to sit there and eat. I told our server, "We just want boxes." We boxed everything up and prepared to leave. Then we waited another roughly 10 minutes just to be cashed out. What made the entire situation even more frustrating was watching people who arrived after us get seated and receive their food while we were still waiting on ours--despite having a reservation. And after all of this? We were charged full price. No meaningful accommodation. No adjustment to the bill. No real effort to make up for the fact that we had spent nearly two hours there and were ultimately taking our food home because we were tired of waiting. I understand that Saturday nights can be extremely busy. I understand that restaurants can get slammed and things can go wrong. What I don't understand is how a party with a reservation can arrive early, be seated late, wait an unreasonable amount of time for drinks, wait over an hour for food, repeatedly have to ask for updates, and ultimately leave with our food in boxes--while still being expected to pay the full bill. The atmosphere and concept are definitely appealing, and that's part of why we chose Jerk at Nite in the first place. But the service and overall experience did not match the expectations created by the restaurant's reputation, social media presence, or reviews. This was supposed to be a fun double date and a rare night out for me. Instead, we spent most of the night waiting. I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not return or recommend Jerk at Nite for a special occasion or date night. Reservations should mean something, and customers should not have to repeatedly chase down staff and management just to find out where their food is. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because there is clearly potential here. But our experience on August 15th was simply unacceptable. read more

Came here twice in the last month and a 1/2.. First time was for a walk thru for an upcoming event and second was for the actual event. Jerk at Nite could be hard to miss if walking downtown because the door is on the side, not at the main entrance but you smell the aroma of Caribbean cuisine a few feet away. The 1st time I came, our waitress was Maya and 2nd visit was Keke. They both provided great service. The manager Shon was cool, friendly, attentive and provided exceptional service. It became so busy on this beautiful 70 degree Saturday in Baltimore, he continuously checked on all tables even bringing out dishes and drinks himself. We were with a birthday girl who partied too hard at her day party so we were trying our best to get her some food. I tired salmon nachos, the chicken and salmon tacos, the oxtails, the jerk chicken, the fried snapper, the Rasta pasta, the rum cake, and the bread, pudding, the lamb chops, and the mac & cheese. I decided this would be a good choice for date night dinner last Saturday because the last time I was there for their soft opening, it seemed very promising. They have a speakeasy upstairs that I was informed was open now and I had been excited about coming back to try it out since the initial walk through. Although they are not in the best part of the city, I still thought it would be a good idea for dinner. I was completely surprised to see there was no one sitting at the bar and a lot of empty tables in the restaurant. The vibe still seemed nice and people were there enjoying themselves. We opted for the window seat which we realized was an open door with an acrylic large window piece leaning against the door frames. This became evident after looking at it for some time and seeing broken glass at the bottom and trying to figure out where the breeze was coming from. Interesting. A smashed fly and its guts also remained on the piece. After placing drink orders and our entrees, I got up to wash my hands. This is when I realized the women's bathroom was all the way upstairs. I made my way up the stairs and into the bathroom which didn't have paper towels and was out of soap. The doors were falling off the hinged and there was no toilet paper on the actual rolls, they were just on top of some of the toilet paper holders. The bathroom was dirty. I was so embarrassed I had suggested coming here for dinner. I made my way back downstairs and dinner head arrived. I was torn between leaving and staying and also mentioning what I have seen in the bathroom. My date commented about how great the food looked and smelled and said they were good with staying. I sat down and he started to eat. The cabbage was really good and I enjoyed the escovitch vegetables. The snapper was warm and not piping hot like you'd expect from a freshly fried fish. Our server was polite but definitely over promised and wasn't too well informed. When we sat down and decided to order drinks, I asked if theirspeakeasy was open and was informed it was. This is one of the main reasons I decided to come. Although I wasn't surprised because there wasn't anyone sitting at the bar downstairs. I had hoped that upstairs was a little bit more busier. I'm not too sure what's going on but this was a Saturday night and the restaurant was pretty much dead. Later on in the evening, my stomach started feeling upset and instead of enjoying the rest of our evening on the town, I had to rush back. As we were heading back, I started replaying the night and what could have been wrong with my stomach and I realized it must have been the fish. Us, and several other customers, waited for several minutes at the front of the restaurant before any one even acknowledged us. Then, when we let them know we wanted to place a to go order, the guy at the bar audibly complained about having to do to go orders. We went to the bar (as instructed) to place our order and we were told that we had to pay more and get an order for here and then we could box it to go. We wanted our food at that point, so we agreed, waited for our food, and boxed it on our own when they brought it out. While waiting, the bar tender continued to go on and on about being tired, complained about customers, we saw several orders sent back, and he just continued to talk trash about customers instead of trying to get things corrected. I should've taken pictures but I really enjoyed the food. I had the oxtail tacos and jerk mac n cheese. There were a few small bones in the tacos but the flavors were very good and they had tons of meat in them. Also tried the jerk wings and oxtail nachos. The wings were so good and had a nice kick to them. They gave us complementary rum punch samples because it was our first visit, it was very good and I got a tiny buzz off the sample so that tells you how strong it was. I loved the vibe, the music was bumping and the service was great. It got loud and everyone danced when they sang happy birthday to everyone. It was a good time. Came to Baltimore for a conference, this was a few blocks up the street from the hotel. I love finding a great place in a different city. First, the food is fantastic. We had the beef patties and jerk chicken, both perfect portions for sharing. The patties were delicious and the chicken was tender. And the food has the perfect balance of spicy and flavor. I've been to places where the spice level overpowered the flavor. Here, the flavors were enhanced by the level of spice. Second, the service was top notch. The server was familiar with the menu, made appropriate suggestions, and checked on us just enough to keep our dining experience comfortable. Even the chef himself came into the dining room and asked how we were enjoying the food. To top it off the restaurant has a cool vibe. The decor, lighting and music created a beautiful atmosphere as soon as you walk in, the service was prompt and friendly too. Prices were very so affordable and shareable. Also the food came out HOT seasoned so well and tasted amazing. Will definitely be back. read more

Absolutely fantastic time both times I went. Went in December before the holidays and then again in early January. Both times, arrived around 7pm and got great seating in the booth areas near the hostess station. The food, both times, was top notch. Ox tails, jerk chicken, curry chicken and fish are delicioso!! I have to say that I am surprised that a Jamaican spot doesn't sell ginger beer. That was very strange and I hope they fix that soon. I also find that the beef patties price is inflated. But, everything is delicious and the presentation of the jerk chicken in the pot is gorgeous. If I had a complaint, it was that the music tended to be loud at times and the happy birthday song can be a bit overdone when it is back to back. I feel like they should do the birthday song celebrations at once to as many people as possible at the same time by having a staff person at each table singing the song and bringing the candled cake. But, in short, we will be back. We are looking forward to seeing what the speakeasy vibe is like. read more

My family decided to finally take a shot at this restaurant the experience was not the greatest the music was so loud while the server was trying to explain the menu it gave me anxiety not a good experience now on to the menu the food was not the greatest the oxtail taco and the rum punch were the best items on the menu the cabbage gave southern style, the salmon was mushy, the lamb chops were just ok the Mac and cheese had a nice flavor but I wasn't expecting the jerk seasoning in it but no jerk seasoning/spice in the rasta pasta and the jerk chicken was not cooked enough overall the establishment is nice and gives all the island vybz but they need to revamp their dishes for the money that was spent and not leave happy was a big disappointment will never go back read more

Service was horrible here! Do not recommend for anyone wanting a good place to go. We went for an anniversary/birthday celebration and left disappointed and frustrated. We placed our order and it took over an hour a half for a portion of our food to come as two people in our party didn't receive their order. The servers and front hostess tried their best but didn't have proper guidance and support from management. When asking for the manager was told he was writing checks for employees and could not be bothered to chat with customers who were upset. We ended up canceling the rest of our order and leaving. read more

The jerk chicken tacos were incredible. The Mac and cheese was excellent ( almost better the 2nd day at home). The Rasta pasta was good but the salmon was dry so get the chicken instead. Beef patties..skip those. A bit loud inside if you're noise sensitive. Service was a bit slow during busy hours. But the staff was pleasant. I'd recommend going for the tacos alone! read more

Sigh. For starters... it's no way I was handed a rolled up, crusty-dusty paper menu(pics I posted, I didn't even touch it yet). We were so disappointed and hesitated to eat here but we opted to stay since we wanted to try them out since opening. Then, we were told they weren't serving any alcohol, while sitting at an entire bar. Young lady said the reason, but I had already clocked out so I don't even remember what she said after that. Food was ok. Bartender, well I mean lady behind the bar and server were pleasant. Nice small restaurant with cool decor, but they have to get it together. read more

Disclaimer: This is not about the food or this location. This is specifically about the service provided at the Capital One Arena pop up. Another stereotypical Jamaican establishment that doesn't have enough inventory of what they sell, and has rude staff to boot. They were truly jerks at nite (particularly the woman handling checkout, the man was nice). Glad to see the cuisine option at the arena but super disappointed by the experience. I didn't spend any money here and probably will avoid doing so in the future. Management, please hire and train better. read more
