Wow! I hadn't heard of this spot before. We wanted takeout on a Friday night and I searched comfort food on GrubHub. Sugarbee's came up and the food sounded great and the reviews were good so we decided to try it out. I ordered jerk chicken rasta pasta and my bf ordered their jumbo chicken pot pie. The food came in the given time frame and was packed very well and piping hot. The pot pie is huge and packed full of chicken and veggies. Very delicious and great flavor. There is a delicious sauce that comes with it as well for some added kick. My Rasta pasta was also delicious. Nice creamy sauce, lots of flavor, and generous amount of tender chicken which was very well seasoned. I chose mild and it had a good enough kick for me; I might try the medium spice level next time! But this has plenty of flavor as is. Also came with a nice sweet, soft roll. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot and will definitely be getting more food from here! read more

Wow! I stumbled across this place after searching for Rasta pasta on Uber eats. I am so glad this was one of the recommended spots. I decided on the jerk salmon rice pasta, which came with cocoa bread to my surprise, for $19.99. I also ordered a side of plantains for $4.99. My food was delivered hot and ready in 45 minutes. The food is absolutely delicious! The portion of this Rasta pasta could be shared by two people or enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the Rasta pasta had the perfect amount of spice with a creamy jerk sauce. The plantains were also pretty good. I will definitely be ordering again! This food was a great hit. I am interested in possibly checking the place out for myself in person. Do yourself a favor and order from here or you won't regret it! read more

Hey friends! I love small mom and pop shops, so I was super exciting walking into Sugarbee's. It's inside of a food hall(make a left at the entrance) in Downtown Baltimore. I received a warm greeting from the cashier. I received my food in about 15 minutes. I ordered the Shrimp Rasta Pasta. For $19, it was a good size portion. It also came with a dinner roll. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the dish packed flavor! Minus points for the dry dinner roll and I would've preferred a thicker sauce. But, the dish was great overall! I burnt my tongue because it was so good I couldn't wait for it to cool down lol. If you're in Downtown Baltimore, I recommend you try them. My brother in law said he was going to sugarbee's and asked did I want anything. I asked what kind of food they had and he said Caribbean. So I ordered my usual curry chicken, cabbage and rice with a side of coco bread. I had no expectations but I will say this place surprised the heck out of me. The chicken was tender, the curry sauce was the perfect consistency, and my cabbage was delicious. It was so good I went back again on my own. It was just as good the second time around. The service was actually really good which if you eat Caribbean food you know is not a given. The prices were very reasonable. All the reasons why, they are my new go to spot. Definitely worth the 20 minute drive from my house. I hope to see y'all there in line the next time I go back. read more

& ! Caribbean cuisine is my absolute favorite, so finding a restaurant with a Caribbean twist on American cuisine was an awesome discovery! Finding out that this same restaurant offers delivery through Grubhub was also a plus! at Sugarbee's ! . Becoming full off of dinner and still having leftovers for lunch for the new work day is next level! The food was a tad bit spicer than I can normally handle, but it was so good the heat didn't bother me much. The flavors were well worth the runny nose, lol. !! I had a hankering for a good chicken pot pie. I knew a couple diners that had really decent pot pies but they are quite the hike and I didn't feel like the drive so... off to Yelp, I went... **searching** Sugarbee's popped up and I was really impressed with what I was reading. I looked at the address and was trying to picture where this place was. Turns out it's located in the Charles Plaza right next to the Charles Towers. There's this relatively small eatery space that used to be packed during the weekday lunchtime crowd. Since the pandemic, it's practically a ghost town but there are a few vendors that have sustained the downturn. Sugarbees is one of them. I highly recommend, if you want to help support local businesses, Sugarbees is one that really deserves ur dollars/support. They only do carry out, considering restrictions and social distancing but trust me, you will NOT be disappointed. As previously mentioned, I opted for the following: 1) 'Homemade Jumbo Chicken Pot Pie Platter': Fresh chunky chicken breast, tender carrots, sweet peas and homemade broth in a crumbly pie crust and cooked to golden perfection. When I tell you this pie is GINORMOUS, I'm really not doing it justice. I wear size XXL gloves and this pie is almost as big as my hands (see attached photo). Now this pie tastes like it came straight out of ur grandmama's kitchen. It literally took me two days to finish. The only gripe is that it's called a 'platter' yet it comes with no side(s). That's a little misleading but still a delicious dish. Yummmmmm-o! A definite re-order. SCORE!!! 2) Next, I selected the 'Maryland Crab Soup' - this is homemade and delicious. I ordered a bowl but the serving container was so tiny. I thought, 'this MUST be a mistake. Ain't no way, this little bit can fill and bowl'. So I asked to verify it was the correct size. It was... *womp womp*. HOWEVER... This soup was made by the angels, themselves!!! BOMB AZZ GOOD!!!! A definite MUST TRY! SCORE! Final assessment - Sugarbee, see you soon, girl!!! read more

Okkk so Sugar Bees , food is so damn good . And yes I mean the pot pies . Run don't walk and get one because they go quick lol . Their jade fresh everyday ! The sauce that comes with it makes it sooooo much better . But only if you like spice in your food . Chicken was chunky , veggies were good too . Spice! I love Caribbean cuisine and there are a plethora of different restaurants to choose from. Today we were lucky enough to try Sugarbee's. I had the gumbo and my God was it delicious. All the ingredients meshed together so well. Great amount of spice, loved having the okra, shrimp were huge and the sausage had a unique flavor to it. Tomorrow I will be trying the jerk salmon pasta. Just off of first try I feel as if I'm hooked. read more

Listen, I don't write reviews often but I literally just put my fork down mid-meal to let y'all know how good this food is! It is my first time ordering from Sugarbee's. I ordered the "Rasta Pasta with Jerk Chicken". Now THIS is what I expect when I order pasta from restaurants but this is rarely ever what I actually get. It is the perfect amount of creamy and the flavor is powerful and rich. It also came with garlic bread. I also sent a photo to all of my family just to tease them. No one is as satisfied and happy as I am right now. I would go as far as saying that this is the best alfredo pasta dish I have ever had. You HAVE to try it. I got the turkey bacon chipotle ranch wrap. It is good but could use some more flavor. (Hence all the pepper in the picture. But it does taste fresh and is full of meat. The pasta salad was ok, it has raisins which to me is a bit off, so I did end up picking them out. Also got an order of fried plantains. Now those were amazing! Best plantains I have had from a restaurant in a long time. I could eat about 5 orders of those itself. I also had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. It was really good. Food is pretty well priced for what you pay which is always a good thing. read more

Sugarbee's has the most AMAZING homemade chicken pot pie I'd ever had. It's filled with big chunks of chicken, carrots, and peas. I don't eat peas at all because of an experience I had as a kid when cold peas kept me from getting an ice cream sandwich at daycare when I was 6. I swore off peas until NOW! The pot pie is big enough for two people to share, but trust me, you are going to want your own. The crust is nice and flakey and thick. Service is decent, but can be improved at best. You won't be disappointed nevertheless! read more

Sugarbee's homemade pot pies were one of the small highlights during a recent business trip to Baltimore. Huge, full of creamy veggie chunks and white meat chicken and topped with 360 degrees of flaky brown crust. Yes, unlike those cheapo frozen Swanson pot pies, Sugarbee's surrounds the entire pie filling with baked homemade crust. Little details like this excite me. As I eat, I scream silently in my head, WINNER! WINNER! POT PIE DINNER! Even better, the pot pies are around $9 each. A great value. Wow and delicious! I didn't take any pictures because my pot pie looked exactly like the other pictures on Yelp. Kudos for consistency. Beware, not all is delicious here. Some of the soups, sandwiches and salads were very pedestrian. The jambalaya with chicken and sausage was very good with 3 chunks of fried sweet plaintains on the side, however, the spices in the jambalaya did not taste homemade, more like from a box. Points lost on that one. Sugarbee's is located in a non-descript food court off St. Charles Street and Saratoga in a seedy part of town loaded with panhandlers, however, it's safe during the day. At night, be ready to duck when bypassers throw sudden punches at you. read more

Meh. This place was okay. Didn't like the jerk chicken sandwich that I had at all though - it was very, very dry and didn't taste like any jerk chicken I've ever had. Should have gone with the pot pie that first caught my eye. Oh, and to people with nut allergies, beware of the pasta salad because it has some kind of nuts in it (and raisins, both of which I thought were a bit strange). read more

Love the Cream of Crab and Maryland Crab Soup. Just like my grandma used to make. The Jerk Chicken is amaze, the red beans and rice are delish. I love the fried plantains and I am picky about plantains. The Jambalaya is what I tried today and it's really good. This is my favorite take out place in a 1 mile radius. Ordered from this establishment and unfortunately they where out of what I ordered and ask if I wanted to replace it with something that due to an allergy I declined however I ordered other things and when the individual arrived to pick up my order they where very rude and disrespectful. read more

Ive only been here 1x but one the best chicken pot piesss evvvverrrr! Im a sucker for chicken pot pies. Warm goodness topped with flaky buttery amazing crust. Yummo. I dont know if the pot pies are available daily or if it was just a special. But Im sure I will find out and soon!! I'll be going back This place is in the EATS food court. If you arent a from around here you may have trouble finding it. It in the building with Charles Towers and its actually inside!! Along with a few other gems!! I cant wait to try some of the other items they have. Giving it 3 stars just cause I havent had anything else from there. read more

And then, the Lord of Comfort Food looked down from the heavens upon Sugarbees and declared: "LET THERE BE THE MIGHTIEST OF POT PIES." And so it was. Seriously, kids: this pie is of biblical proportions. Huge chunks of tender chicken, carrots, potatoes, and more, floating in a heavenly sauce, all wrapped up in a flaky, buttery pie crust. With a serious appetite, you could tackle one yourself, although it might result in an hour or so of self-loathing. Perfect to split with a friend, grab a nice side salad or other supplement. Or just say "to Hades" with it, and school that whole bad boy yourself. read more

Sugarbee's is my favorite lunch time spot. Good quality food, unique menu items, very affordable prices! Why get a burger or pizza when you can have crab cakes, pot pies, paninis and soup.my only complaint is that I wish they were open through dinner time. You have to try them out! read more

just got a wonderful chicken pot pie from Sugarbees. It looked and smelled WONDERFUL, and tastes great, big chunks of chicken, chunks of peas and carrots, filled with a wonderful thick gravy. I got one for me, but really two people could split one. The place is much bigger than it looks from the outside, with lots of widely spaced seating (for a city lunch place!) and good jazz on the sound system. read more

Love their salads and pastas so I just knew I was going to love the burgers. Yeah wrong. I ordered a turkey burger and fries and it was disgusting. The burger was dry in the inside; like they used a turkey patty and not freshly made turkey burgers as the guy described to me. When the guy asked what type of roll I wanted the burger on (white, wheat, or rye) I thought it was going to be an actual roll. It wasn't until I actual sat down to eat that I learned the bread was the same one you make pb &j on and they added flare by putting it on a pannini maker. The fries were partially cooked and cold. Just an all around no. Next time I'll stick to what I know (their salads and pasta) and stop being adventurous. Those 3 stars are for the pasta and salads. They actually deserve 5 stars for that. Friendly service, and good food. Crab cake sandwich, and pasta salad for under $10. The pasta salad had raisins, and this dressing that 3 days later I am still thinking about. The only negative is when they did the panini press on the bun, it made it fall apart. I ended up eating the sandwich with a knife and fork. But don't get me wrong, it was great! read more

The hot turkey platter at Sugarbee's is amazing. It's really good turkey, and its covered in that yellowish gravy that makes you think of high school cafeterias. Sugarbee's has a lot of seating which makes it a great place to get out of the office for lunch, actually be able to relax, and drift away in yellow gravy heaven. read more

It's one of those places that you really aren't sure how the foods going to be, so you underestimate it. Luckily, this place surprised me a long time ago with how good (and ample) the food is, and it seems to keep getting better. Great cream of crab soup too. read more

Had to be careful transporting it to my office so the dressing didn't spill over and get all over the place. The salad was good, but I wouldn't say it was $12.75 good. Portion was small for the price and as I've mentioned earlier, some of the ingredients didn't look fresh. I understand this place just opened up not too long ago, so they might be still working out their kinks so I'm willing to try this place out again maybe in a month or so.

Definitely about to be my go to for healthy delicious food.

That first night after the drive was an entire vibe. Their espresso martini--made with almond milk, I believe--was different in the best way and so, so good. The food? Don't even get me started. The Bang Bang Shrimp, Cheezesteak Eggrolls, Elote Street Corn, and Maple Brussels Sprouts were all hits. Every single one. We loved it so much that we decided not to rush back to NYC and make a full weekend out of it. One of the owners personally recommended ROOST Baltimore Pennisula, a nearby apartment-style hotel, and wow--beyond awesome. Truly the perfect suggestion. We came back to Bar Vegan for brunch, and somehow the experience was even better than the night before. Our server, Shavone, was phenomenal--attentive, kind, warm, and just an absolute joy. We also got to meet some of the kitchen staff preparing our food, and I made sure to give them their flowers because listen... I am not vegan, and I loved everything. The omelette, sausage, shrimp and grits, chopped salad, French toast, and fresh-squeezed juices were all superb. Before heading back to NYC, we stopped in one final time that evening--and once again, they did not miss. The oxtails and jollof rice, Brussels sprouts, corn, and potstickers were straight fire. I truly wish nothing but continued success and growth for this place. Bar Vegan deserves all the love, all the recognition, and all the thriving. We came as visitors and left as fans for life. Ordered the special event drink, which was essentially the lychee martini on their menu. This was a big no no. Didn't taste like lychee at all but mainly peach schnapps. Definitely not for me or what I ordered. We left just before 9pm, which was when the DJ started playing some good jams. People started rolling in too. What can I say, I'm getting old and still needed to drive back home (~1hr). Lol

I had the muffuletta, caponata and some Pignoli cookies and I truly cannot speak highly enough about each item. The sandwich was wonderful and well balanced, the Caponata was genuinely some of the best Caponata I've had in my entire life. As someone who makes Caponata on an almost weekly basis I was absolutely blown away at this one and would genuinely rank it top five I've ever had. The Pignoli cookies were good as well they were a bit harder than I like, but no real complaints. There's not much to speak to in terms of service here as it's an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place but staff was friendly and then ambiance is again nothing too crazy but definitely a great lunch spot and so many fun items to purchase. Next time I'm in Baltimore, I will without a doubt be coming back here and would genuinely put this on a must hit list for anyone visiting the city.

I highly recommend Nalley Fresh for your jury duty lunch where there is some window seating with AC if not outside tables on a less hot day. Bonus: It you ask nicely, the adjoining lobby desk person may lead you to a tucked-away bathroom to freshen up before you head back to do your civic duty for the rest of the day. (Note: Lucky me, I did not get picked, and by early afternoon on a Friday, we jury "orphans" were released again to our "normal" lives--to live free and easy for another year.)
