With so many soulfood options to choose from in the city, England Eatery is a win for new style soulfood. Located in the Pigtown area of Baltimore this tiny eatery is serving up new homestlye soulfood, such as honey old bay crabby biscuits, fried salmon bites, and fish & shrimp tacos. I opted for the chicken and waffles this go around, which was decently tasty. The order did specify it was tenders and not wings to be served, and I was set on the tenders. So notification to the customer that they would have to switch out the type of chicken would've been nice. However, the hot honey jerk sauce on the wings was delicious and definitely spicy. The waffle was light and airy, however, no syrup or butter was provided in the bag for the waffle. But the star dish was the shrimp tacos. Filled full of crispy shrimp, a little slaw, and this boom boom style sauce. One of my favorite items on the menu. I've been here several times, and the food is always on point!! Don't you just love when a place lives up to the hype? The fried salmon bites were a standout, perfectly tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, can choose one of many sauces, we went with honey old bay, cause duh, that honey pool at the bottom and all around flavor...yum! The salmon roll-up comes stuffed with a crap/spinach dip, rolled and brushed with garlic butter. Need I say more? The chicken wings & French vanilla toast crunch were delish (honey old bay sauce on the wings again). The crabby biscuits are worth their weight in gold! So good! And the Mac n cheese is standout too!! And best of all, we scored the (taco Tuesday) crab dip taco on a Saturday!! My rating is more like a 3.75. I thought the food was pretty good. I had the honey old bay salmon and it was perfectly cooked to my liking and not over cooked - seasoned well. I added some seasoning to the mac n cheese and after that it was great. I ordered the greens but passed on them bc I didn't like the taste - they really didn't have a taste. Now, I would definitely go back for the honey old bay crab biscuit! Best biscuit I've had so far - definitely stole the show. Inside there is inside seating and it's clean. I was searching for more small businesses to try and I'm glad I came across England Eatery! The menu has various options for your taste buds and they offer unique weekly specials. I had never heard of a Crabby Biscuit before but it was a tasty combo of sweet and very savory; it's crab dip in the middle of the biscuit and sauce on top that tasted like honey and Old Bay. As an entree I ordered the Salmon Bites Platter that comes with rice and two sides. The Salmon Bites were crispy and cooked well, the Mac n Cheese and Greens were delicious. I'm glad I checked the platter because they forgot the rice but I was given some on the side. I would return to try more of the menu items. read more

As the saying goes, "the stomach wants what it wants." Or something like that. I've seen their food on IG several times but never had the chance to try it. Then one day the universe shined its light on me and showed me their ad while I was trying to decide what to grab to eat before work. The location is a temporary one until they open their storefront. I placed my order online and it was ready earlier than the time originally given to me. I got the stuffed salmon with yams and collard greens. Now if you know me then you know that yams are one of my favorite foods. I prefer mine a little sweeter but still these weren't bad. The collard greens, I felt lacked a bit of seasoning. Cooked well but just needed more seasoning. However, the star of the dish did not disappoint. The salmon was MOIST! I have no complaints about it and it would be pretty hard for me to NOT order it next time. I'll definitely be back. There's a few more items I want to try. read more

It is located right next to Hollins Market, fun fact all my years living in Baltimore never been there before, anyhow i digress, on the food. Its a black owned restaurant, if that is your thing. I ordered the salmon bites with Honey Jerk, a strawberry lemonade, and the crabby honey old bay biscuit. after i was done eating and drinking i felt i had ingested two bags of sugar. Loved the salmon bites, the strawberry lemonade was way too sweet, the biscuit tho good, i felt the honey drizzle made it a little weird for me. OMG! Where do I start, the food is so amazing here it's very addicting and yummy. This small black owned business is so worth it. The people are so nice, if you have any questions or concerns they fix it right away with no hesitation. We order from here very frequently and when I frequently I mean it lol. When we order online we get it delivered to us and when I say the food still be hot as if it just got out the oil, chileee don't need to be warmer or nothing. Ordered the honey old bay salmon bites, Mac and cheese and greens. Salmon bites didn't have honey or old bay on them but a different sauce. Mac and cheese had a weird taste, not edible, my daughter wont even eat it and she loves Mac $cheese. Greens were good. Also ordered the whiting platter with shrimp, potatoe salad and yams. Yams were very very sweet but and potato salad was creamy. Fish was seasoned well. Please note it's hard to get assistance they don't answer the phone. I've been here on two separate occasions and the food hits every time. The first time i went i got the stuffed salmon, I'm not a fan of anything stuffed (except Oreos) but it was seasoned to perfection. The greens were good and the Mac i wasn't exactly used to but it was very cheesy. The second time i went, i got the smothered turkey chop platter. You can't see it but there's TWO chops in there ! The mashed potatoes were velvety and i love their greens so that was that. The gravy was standard by itself but with that chop, it took it to a whole mother level. Normally I love their food. But today, my wings were not good. To business owners who serve wings, please clean your wings before cooking and do not serve deformed or ill-shaped wings to customers. You wouldn't like it if that's what you received. Also, $10 for only 6 wings is pricey and at least 2 or 3 were inedible. I don't know what happened this time around, but they were great before. My co-worker turned me on to this place for Taco Tuesday's and we enjoy every week. The crab tacos are to die for. The only thing is, for the past couple of weeks they have changed the price each week. I've tried the fish and shrimp tacos and they are good would have preferred chopped fish or chunks (not the whole fish piece). They gave us a garlic butter sauce to dip the Crab Taco in but lately they have been putting a Mayo sauce which doesn't give the same taste. But all in all I would recommend this place to everyone.
