You can't go wrong with this spot. Solid flavors, a convenient location, and online ordering. Consistent flavor and food quality. The service is very transactional. The inside gives traditional carryout vibes--no seating or eating inside.

Salmon tender platter (rice is underneath foil)

This place definitely gives you your moneys worth and then some. This is only a carry out establishment. It can get busy at any second and they can sometimes run out of food. So the earlier the better. All platter comes with rice. You get your entree plus an additional 2 sides. My order was the salmon tenders with honey old bay sauce and my sides were Mac & cheese and greens. You get 5 salmon tenders and all the sides for only $26. That is a good deal. I don't have one complaint about any of the food. Definitely going back again for more options and flavors.

Honestly so good. Even though we got it delivered the food came hot and was delicious. The salmon tenders were juicy and the collard greens were perfect. The garlic mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese almost stole the show. Honorable mention to the dipping sauces. Definitely will be ordering again!

The food is decent . What is the hype about ? I walk in the store and I understand it's self own but it's a mess in the fridge and lobby . Put some money into your business and make it look CLEANER, half way eating the rice I saw a hair and then that's when I tossed out the food .

I've been seeing PlattaKing all over social media and knew I had to give them a try. They are cashless and takeout only. I placed my order online and the process was straightforward. I ordered the salmon tenders w/ honey old bay, mac and cheese and candied yams. For my beverage I chose the white peach lemonade. I received a text message when my order was ready for pick up and I also had an email confirmation with the receipt and order number. When you walk in there are no tables and no chairs. It's truly take out only. I walked up to the counter the cashier asked for the last four of my phone number and bagged my order. You know you eat with your eyes first and the food was aesthetically pleasing to say the least. I had to take a pic first but my mouth was watering the entire time lol. Everything was made fresh and tasted amazing. I was doing my happy dance the whole time. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and breaded. Tossed in the honey old bay just right. The mac was flavorful with the right amount of cheese and the yams reminded me of Thanksgiving. The lemonade is definitely made with fresh squeezed lemons, it wasn't overly sweet and you could taste the flavor. I enjoyed it so much I had to call them to say thank you. My meal came up to $32 which is reasonable pricing in 2025. Definitely putting them in my takeout rotation. Now it's your turn to check them out.

Honey Old Bay Wings, Candied Yams and Collard Greens

Where to start this food was so damn good!! The candied yams were the star of the show. I got the honey old bay wings; roughly about 8 wingettes. Each platter comes with 2 sides; it was really hard to chose. I got the candied yams and collards both were great. My only complaint and this really comes down to preference, I don't like stems in my collards. The stems aren't a deal breaker, but you got to at least cut them down a bit. Also, I almost turned around when I got there because the sign on the door said cash only, only to find out they no longer take cash as a form of payment. Otherwise this was a wonderful experience I will for sure come back. Another tip order ahead and then come and pick it up as the food is made to order and the wait time can be considerable.

I came in to pick up my food and Mike who was at the front was very nice and helpful. He made sure to tell me to come back and visit again. Now, I've heard so many good things about Platta King and wanted to try it for myself. I was slightly disappointed. The sweet potatoes was really good and I would order those all day!! The whiting was seasoned but it also tasted like it was fried in burnt grease. I couldn't even eat them all because I didn't care for that grease taste. I even tried to eat it covered in hot sauce and it didn't work. Very disappointed. I heard so much about the spaghetti and how they don't have it often so I was excited to taste it. Once again, a little disappointed. The meat was very salty which always throws off the taste of the whole spaghetti. I couldn't finish that either! Smh! The Mac and cheese was just okay. I'm not sure which green herb they use in their Mac but it's a little overpowering. Overall, it wasn't bad but I was disappointed with that as well. I didn't really enjoy my meal and I'm sad about that because I really wanted to. I'm definitely going to try them out again because every place has a bad day to someone. I think I'll switch up what I order though. I say try them out for your self!

Smothered Turkey Wings, Mac & Cheese, Sweet Potatoes

Plattaking is a good southern inspired comfort food business in Baltimore, MD. The food here is delicious. Their fried and sauced chicken wings are perhaps the best version of it that you will find in the area. The chicken is fried to perfection. The mac and cheese is delicious, however is smoked gouda-forward. Keep this in mind when ordering their mac and cheese. Their sweet potatoes are also delicious and they have the ideal texture with regard to firmness, in my opinion, however on a few occasions I visited they were a bit too firm for my liking. I appreciate how they prepare their sweet potatoes despite their being on the sweeter end of the spectrum. Ordering is conducted online and I recommend doing so well in advance as the lobby was packed during all of my visits with people who had yet to receive their order even after almost an hour. On every occasion it took virtually 45 mins, at least, to fulfill my order. That said, for the quantity and quality the overall experience is a good one and certainly worth the drive when I'm in the mood for southern comfort side dishes.

Maple Jerky Salmon with Candied Yams and String Beans with Smoked Turkey

Here's why you need to make PlattaKing your next Sunday dinner plans. So good the first time I had to go again and yup it's still #PickyApproved. Customer Service: Our order was placed online through the Toast app, very easy to order from. My husband completed a quality control before we left since our commute is 45min and we had multiple orders. Everything was correct in the bag! Food: Huge Portions! Our Order: Fried Catfish with Collard Greens and Macaroni & Cheese Maple Jerk Salmon (extra sauce) with String Beans w/Smoked Turkey, Candid Yams and Rice. Don't sleep on the extra sauce. Fried Catfish: The food was delicious and the portions I received were HUGEEEEE. My fish was fried hard with that good ole thick batter. The sides aka stars that make a meal I loved the collard greens with smoked turkey and Mac and Cheese tasted like Granny dressed in a frying food moo-moo was back in the kitchen. Whew Lawd! I promise I'm not gassing this up. Maple Jerk Salmon: It was delicious packed with flavor, tender, and a delicious sauce balance and it came over a bed of yellow rice. Extra sauce was ordered this time and whewwwww I don't want it any other way now. Similar to the fish dinner the portions I received were HUGEEEEEEE. Ambiance Local carry-out location only, no dine-in options Parking Free street parking only, they were jamming so it was harder to find parking. Thankfully someone was coming out so I didn't have to sit for long or spin the block too many times. This place is very SOLID 4/5. I ordered my food online because I read that ordering in person wasn't the best and that would be correct. The inside is tiny and there is no waiting area so order in advance. I got the turkey wing platter with sweet potatoes, greens, and mac and cheese. This food lasted me two days. The only reason this place was a 4 and not a 5 is because I felt as though the gravy on the turkey wings wasn't quite "right." But the actual gravy didn't take away from the quality of the entire plate. The food was very tasty, very good, not overly seasoned, but seasoned just right. Felt like I had a little plate of Thanksgiving.

This place is normally my go to spot for Soulfood. My normal is the the old bay wings, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese which is normally delicious. Today I tried the garlic mashed potatoes and I wasn't a fan, they didn't taste bad just a tad bit too garlicky for me. I also tried the banana pudding that way way to soupy, like the pudding had been whipped, and it barely had any Nila wafers, they need to go back to the drawing board for that recipe cause that ain't it.

The young men working the front counter were very kind and helpful. Let my friend have a sample when he ain't know what side to choose. I ordered the catfish with honey lemon pepper sauce. Bussin. Greens were good with some hot sauce. I didn't care for the macaroni, but I am very particular abt what I eat, esp my macaroni and cheese. Fish 10/10.

I've known about this place for years, but was so off putted by it being inside a gas station (???!). It wasn't until a few months ago when I delivered an order from here through DoorDash that my curiosity had finally peaked. Today, I decided to give them a try. Ordered 3 dinners through DoorDash and even after tip, my total was only about $30! We kept it simple & ordered 3 fried chicken wing dinners, 2 with string beans, 1 with collard greens, and all 3 with the Mac and cheese........guys. The chicken was cooked in fresh grease (y'all KNOW how important that is!), was well seasoned, crispy and juicy. Wings were a decent size -- not pigeons or steroid huge. It was easily the best/my family's favorite part of the meal (I'm already thinking about trying the fried pork chops next ). According to my husband, the string beans were fine -- flavorful, but not seasoned heavily. The collard greens were seasoned and vinegary, like I like. The Mac & cheese was great too, seasoned and cheesy. Do you see a pattern here??? (SEASON YOUR FOOD FOR STARS ) There's so much more I want to say, but if you're not sold by now, then...idk? Trust me on this hidden gem. I'm looking forward to ordering from here again (most likely through DoorDash because that gas station is a little...um...) If the next experience is as good as this time, I've met my Corner Carryout replacement! ...oh yes, the only thing I didn't love was the corn muffin. What I didn't like about it, you might love and that's why reviews are subjective -- so give it a try! I respect the sweet contrast it provides with the savory meal though. Well played, Ms. Gloria.

It is now on the street across from the old location. I read that their chitterlings were good and I was in the area, so I decided to find out for myself. Upon entering, I was met with a heated glass case which had the chitterlings, along with the hog maws (that would be pig's stomach), in addition to side items such as candied sweet potatoes and collard greens. The ambiance was of a traditional carry-out, but on a slow day ( I went on a Saturday late afternoon). I saw the pricing for the chitterlings and hog maws and was taken aback: the small round deli container that hold 1/4 pound of food was going for $15 with prices only increasing as the deli container sizes did. I had to remind myself, as a connoisseur of chitterlings and hog maws from my extensive family history of preparing such soul food delicacies, that it takes an awful long time to clean those pig intestines and stomach, I mean HOURS to remove the waste and grit followed by extensive rinsing to make sure none of that ilk remains. So I took one for the team and got the $15 container of chitterlings, along with the same size container of sweet potatoes. I doused them in hot sauce that was provided. The ladies were on the grill cooking an insane amount of scrapple, another home favorite that I enjoy. The pleasant gentleman that assisted me said that they are open for breakfast Monday-Sat beginning at 6a. I may have to stop by... Once home, I got into those chitterlings fast: they were cooked well, with NO grit, and had a vinegary flavor that was enhanced by the hot sauce. They were GOOD. The sweet potatoes were whipped, but as I tasted them, they were missing something. I whipped out my nutmeg and cinnamon and with a few shakes of each, the sweet potatoes were just as they should be. Angi's also sells pig's feet, subs, sandwiches, and fish. All in all, a good place to grab some chitterlings, hog maws, pig's feet, and other soul food-themed items. Will definitely be back to try the hog maws and to grab a scrapple sandwich for breakfast.
