I received a text message when my order was ready for pick up and I also had an email confirmation with the receipt and order number. When you walk in there are no tables and no chairs. It's truly take out only. I walked up to the counter the cashier asked for the last four of my phone number and bagged my order. Where to start this food was so damn good!! The candied yams were the star of the show. I got the honey old bay wings; roughly about 8 wingettes. Each platter comes with 2 sides; it was really hard to chose. I got the candied yams and collards both were great. My only complaint and this really comes down to preference, I don't like stems in my collards. The stems aren't a deal breaker, but you got to at least cut them down a bit. Also, I almost turned around when I got there because the sign on the door said cash only, only to find out they no longer take cash as a form of payment. Their fried and sauced chicken wings are perhaps the best version of it that you will find in the area. The chicken is fried to perfection. The mac and cheese is delicious, however is smoked gouda-forward. Keep this in mind when ordering their mac and cheese. Their sweet potatoes are also delicious and they have the ideal texture with regard to firmness, in my opinion, however on a few occasions I visited they were a bit too firm for my liking. I appreciate how they prepare their sweet potatoes despite their being on the sweeter end of the spectrum. Ordering is conducted online and I recommend doing so well in advance as the lobby was packed during all of my visits with people who had yet to receive their order even after almost an hour. On every occasion it took virtually 45 mins, at least, to fulfill my order. I have truly missed good soul food and Plattaking has brought it back to Baltimore. Whenever I try a new spot, I always order the same thing: fried chicken, Mac and cheese and yams because that's how you can tell if the food is a hit or miss and this was definitely a hit. Oh, we don't do no refunds we don't I'm like what kind of business that serve food first of all do not give customers their money back or another choice of something different that they may not be that salty I said I have the meal here uneaten it's an edible for me.
