Short story: Thin crust pizza, light on the sauce, heavy on the cheese pizza in a fun converted gas station. Good for groups or a solo dinner. Longer story: Once upon a time this was a gas station and it's been converted to a pizza place. The whole place is decorated in hilarious memorabilia that made me think of a gas station from the 60's. That's been paired with an intentional modern vibe or exposed bricks, large scale garage style doors for walls and This pizza is thin crust, light on the sauce, and heavy on the toppings. They only serve medium and large sizes. They have some constant, old faithful classic toppings, such as pepperoni, as well as a solid rotation of seasonal pickings. IMO - the ice cream sandwiches in the standup freezer to the left of the cashier is always worth looking into. read more

One of the best pizzas I've ever had!! I loved the tomato pie. I've never had this style before but it was amazing! The pizza had cheese first then sauce so it was crispy and not soggy. The ingredients were all so fresh and amazing. The owner even came over and told us that everything is fresh, they don't even have a freezer in the back! You could really taste the quality of the food. The 18" pie was big and fed 5 of us. We also shared two salads, which were very good as well. We tried the Greek salad and verde one. They were huge and loaded with so many great toppings. To end the meal, we got 2 ice cream sandwiches. They are made locally! They were in a case filled with 11 different flavors. I loved the chocolate blackout one. I also tried the white chocolate raspberry but it was too sweet for me. We came here because the 5 reviews and after eating the pizza I understand why they have such a great rating. The food is fresh and the pizza's taste reflects that freshness. The staff is friendly and checked on us as we had our meal making sure we had all we needed. If had to fault this place for anything it would that they don't offer fountain drinks but with COVID that is understandable. Hopefully this whole situation will improve soon. If you want pizza and you're in this town you cannot go wrong stopping here. The food is great and the staff are too. I will definitely come back if I'm ever up this way again. read more

Pizza was good; tried Margarita and Pepperoni. I felt one pie (Margarita) was heavily floured. Each bite had a dry powdered taste, so I had to scrape flour off of the bottom. The sauce was a tad bit on the salty side. Prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly. read more

Def want to try more! We stumbled on Pizzoco as it was listed on our hotel board. It was nearby, had great reviews, and most importantly for us opened at 11am (after a light breakfast we were starving). Great ambiance - loved the outdoor seating! They offered an ice machine, water and free eco friendly cups - thank you for the healthier option for kids! We ordered breadsticks, medium 14" hikers special, and medium 14" tomato pie (aka perfecto). We were able to see it freshly tossed and made. 10 minutes later we were enjoying our food! Best pizza spot in Winchester. I've tried about half of their house pizzas, and they are all great. The place is nicely renovated and is always spotless. Staff is attentive and friendly, and the outside patio is cool. But I am writing this review chiefly to extol the virtues of the Bee Sting. Far and away my favorite pizza ever. 3 girls on a trip, 2 vegans, 1 solution: Pizzoco! A few months ago, my gal pals and I were in the area and we were to have stumbled across this pizza place in our shared quest to find somewhere to get dinner. When my fellow vegan friend noticed that this place offers vegan pizza, I jumped in my car faster than she could say "(vegan) cheese!". There's ample parking in this nice neighborhood and it's easy to find. As usual, there was heavy debate about salad, pizza type, breadsticks, etc. (shout-out to the Pizzoco gals for answering all our questions and double-checking what is/isn't vegan). Long story short, we opted for a Make Your Own vegan pizza and vegan breadsticks. We unfortunately had to skip the salad as all the dressings are non-vegan. The portions are huge and we had a lot left over. (Don't worry, our non-vegan friend treated herself to a chicken pizza and loved it, might I add!) Great patio seating outdoors! Heads-up that there are bugs (mostly gnats/mosquitoes), so if that's bothersome, then the patio may not be for you. If you're looking for great (vegan) pizza and breadsticks + cute outdoor seating + warm, welcoming staff, then Pizzoco is for you! They make all the dough and sauces from scratch and use only fresh non frozen ingredients. Craft pizza at is best ! The dough is light flaky and amazing. The sauce is fresh and flavorful, one of my favorites!! They offer a variety of House pizzas or create your own. These pizzas are big ! Medium 14 inches while the large is 18 inches - HUGE. We went for the create your own - Pepperoni and sausage. It was served bubbling HOT. This pie has lots of sauce and generous amounts of gooie cheese. Super delicious. Besides pizza, they also offer a few different salads, an italian sub, pesto sub, calzone and breadsticks. Oh did i mention they have a Gluten free pizza ! They offer a limited selection of canned sodas and a nice little selection of craft beers some on tap. For dessert they have these homemade ice cream sandwiches hand made in small batches. The place is a casual service, where you order at a window and take your drinks to an empty table, someone will deliver your food when it is ready. The owners were circulating, talking to and interacting with diners. I love that, you can tell this is their passion. What a gem! Reviews on Yelp helped us find this charming spot during a recent trip to Winchester. If you're within a 50 mile radius and craving pizza, GO HERE! This is now one of my top favorite pizza spots in Virginia! This includes good ol' RVA. You know when a place is 3+ hours from home and is added to the top of a yelper's destination list, it's good stuff. We went on a Saturday night, about an hour before closing. I never like going to a business near closing because I know staff is ready to get out of there and if it's slow, they can start cleaning and breaking things down a bit early. Because of this, we planned to get everything to-go and roll back out to the hotel. The staff was extremely hospitable - very warm and friendly, and encouraged us to stay and grab a table. They have beer on tap and quite a few wines available, so we grabbed a couple of drinks while we waited on our food. One of the owners came out and chatted with us. He was laid-back, funny and very welcoming. The customer service and super cute, fun atmosphere already had us feeling warm & fuzzy. Then the food came. Total show stopper!! Not only were the pizzas and breadsticks aesthetically pleasing, but everything was over-the-top delicious!!! There's a huge difference when ingredients are fresh ... and they do it RIGHT. The cheese is mmm-mmm good and the crust is so delish that we didn't even need a dipping sauce to eat it all. Best place in Winchester to get pizza. It's a small place with limited indoor seating, but they do have a good sized outdoor area too. Parking is limited. If you like NewYork style pizza, this is the place for you. The pizza crust is crispy, sauce is just right and topped with Grande brand mozzarella cheese. I love the Beesting pizza. I was in town for a getaway with my wife. We were hungry but didn't want to leave the hotel so we placed an order. So glad we did! We ordered online and afterward realized we needed paper plates. I called, and they answered right away and were very friendly. We got the pizza a short time later with the plates. We ordered the Bee Sting with sausage on half. It was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Large and it was heavy on toppings. I live 1.5 hours away, but I might have to make that trip once a month to get that pizza again.
