It's ok. Can't say it's great but can't say it's awful either. You may like it or you may not. It's a coin toss.

The best pizza anywhere near Winchester. Subs are great too, and the food is always fresh. Great value as well.

Antica trattoria Winchester - spaghetti vongole

Antica trattoria Winchester

Eat here. Do it. Just do it. It's not saying much in "best restaurant in Winchester" but this is…read moreone of the best restaurants I've ever been to. It not only compares to Italian food in Italy, it beats it. The food is all homemade, prepared with care, and the owner is fully hands on to make sure the food and drinks are fantastic, and also hands on to make sure customers are happy. The entire experience is profoundly incredible. I want to never not be eating there. The gnocchi melts in your mouth, the sauces are deep rich flavors, not like any other place in town what is watered down liquid tomatoes. The food came to the table fresh and hot, served at the perfect time, even though it was a busy night. I am now a life long customer. The drinks were fantastic as well. The wine was an incredible addition to the meal and the delicious sangria was hand made by the owner herself. If I lived on the other side of the world, I would fly back to Winchester just to eat here. Do yourself a favor, eat here!!!

It saddens me to write this review because the restaurant has a horrible location off the main…read morestrip of town. And the owners and everyone who works here are wonderful. Incredibly nice and hospitable and provided excellent service. The inside is cute and quaint and you can tell this restaurant was a dream! The inside is small but gives a more intimate feel. The food was not great. The place has amazing reviews, so maybe we stumbled on the wrong food. They don't have a kids menu but have basic pastas for kids. We got ours a spaghetti and meatballs which was a large portion. The sauce tasted can like. I had the shrimp pesto. The sauce was more liquid than a thick creamy pesto, which I normally don't mind. The gnocchi was good but the sauce was heavily seasoned and not super delicious. The shrimp was a large portion and okay. My boyfriend had the lobster risotto. The actually risotto was good but the lobster was tough and overcooked. I only saw pasta selections and not a lot of appetizers. We had the fried Brie cheese which was pretty good. I really enjoyed the bread but had to ask for olive oil. They have a house made eggplant that I didn't care for. The prices were outrageous. Our dinner cost $150 with no alcohol. Overall would not come back, which makes me sad for the business :(

This place is a hidden gem. The wait staff was so courteous and welcoming. The definitely knew…read morethe daily specials and knew how to make it sound just as delicious as it probably was. If one person is not helping you, then another person is quick to ensure you are being helped. Plenty of seating inside and the ambiance was perfect. More impressed by the monstrous brick oven but food was moving constantly. The food was also amazing. I forgot the name of the seafood dish that I had bust it was perfectly served in a breadbowl and tasted like a fondue. The mix of small scallops, tiger shrimp, and fresh lump crab meat was to die for. The baked seafood rigatoni was also amazing. The sauce was perfect and creamy and the seafood was once again fresh. We will definitely be back.

It's been years since I've been to Manalu. It's first and foremost a red-sauce pasta place, with…read moretypical Italian meat options (chicken, veal, picatta, milanese, etc). Ambiance is good - and on a Monday night the place was absolutely PACKED. Lots of good vibes by a crowd that looked like they treated it as their go-to place. I was there with a group, so I browsed the online menu before I got there to make ordering more efficient. Our server did a nice job taking drink orders (really nice wine selection and you can BYOB for a nominal corkage fee), explaining the extensive sauce selections, and helping folks pick from an equally extensive past list (Rigatoni, Ziti, Penne, Spaghetti, Fusilli, Fettuccine, Linguine, Capellini, Mini Shells, Paccheri, and a "pasta of the day"). I chose the Casalinga: veal cubes cooked in caramelized onions, carrots and green peas in a tomato sauce with a touch of cream. I asked him to pick a pasta for me, thinking I would get one from the standard offerings. He upsold me the pasta of the day for $7.25, which looked suspiciously like the rigatoni I could have enjoyed for free. My bad, but still - would have been nice to have been asked. The sauce was OK, with good chunks of veal, but I did not see or taste any carrots, and saw just a few peas. Not what I was expecting. Prices were reasonable, and service (other that the unremarked upsell) was very good. I still prefer Fratelli's in Middletown (or better yet, my own sauce cooked in my own kitchen with some nice homemade sausage, meatballs, and bracciole. Sunday gravy, shared with the fam around our loaded dining room table.) But not bad overall.
