    Meat Lover's Omelette
    Mike M.

What a disappointment, compared to our previous visits. It's almost like "granny" has given up on preparing top quality food. The servers are not friendly, personable or really act like they want to be there. I ordered some sort of egg & meat bowl. It was supposed to have ham, sausage & bacon along with "homefries." Well, the taters were so hard, it was difficult to cut or chew. The eggs were over-cooked (burned on the bottom) and the meat was scarce. One of the worst breakfast meals I've eaten (forced down). The interior of the building is dark and dingy. The Christian sayings posted on the wall, clash with the bar atmosphere. An oxymoron like "military intelligence." It is sad to see the place in such decline. We will not return.

The highlight of this dive bar was the super friendly wait staff. They were welcoming and efficient in taking out orders and bringing our food. I didn't have high hopes for the ambience, but this place was even more run down than I expected. There were a lot of chain smokers in the outdoor eating area when we were there. The food was standard diner fare (my husband had trouble finding the meat in his Philly cheese steak). My chicken sandwich had a bit of gristle for breast. Definitely not a 4.5 star experience.

Slow down or you'll miss it but it's so worth the stop! Most delicious steak, perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy and cooked just the way I like! They use local ingredients with the freshest produce and local meat. Friendly staff and patrons made us feel right at home! They have a patio that overlooks a nice creeks, and they have live music sometimes. Great prices!!!

My goodness everything was so delicious. The pancakes was everything. I'm talking fluffy & delicious. I can't wait to get back up to Winchester just so I can try them again. I dreamt about them several times. I had scrambled eggs with mushrooms, onions & tomatoes, they were delicious. I link the video down in the bottom so that you can see it on Instagram: deepbreath42. My friend had a steak, that he said was delicious with grits and eggs. He loved it. My sister had an omelet, which she loved. She is a very picky eater, so I was very surprised pleasantly. The facility was really clean and you know a good sign of a great restaurant is their bathroom which theirs was extremely clean and great smelling so that was a plus plus for me. The people who were their customers were very friendly. The owner came over and talked to us. He was a very nice gentleman. He's a veteran... very interesting man. The waitresses were very nice accommodating. I the coffee very delicious. I do not care for a Starbucks type coffee and this coffee was smooth and delicious welcoming and gave you a great big old hug I said come on back in here girl and get another cup. I would recommend this place everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I will be going back. I give it a 10 out of 10, especially the pancakes and the coffee. The ambiance was very nice. They also had a deck out back that my sister and friend went back out on to smoke cigarettes while they waited for the food. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DHq7_rvRmk5/?igsh=OTMwOXBsZTA5dTN6

I found Granny's using Yelp - and so drove out this morning for a breakfast visit... I arrived around 11:00 am-ish - there were no other customers when I arrived - about 10 minutes later - several more parties arrived. I ordered their Corned Beef & Hash - due to the fact that there is a physical notation on the menu description - that their Corned Beef Hash does not come from a can. It comes with eggs, potatoes, and toast - so I went with eggs over easy and Rye toast, plus water. Food came out fairly quickly - when I eyeballed the plate of breakfast goodness - my first thought was - "the Corned Beef Hash came out of a can," - it sure "looked" like it came from a can. But upon tasting - it seemed like there was a hint of seasoning - perhaps garlic - that one does not find in the canned variety. Anyhoo - I applied black pepper and hot sauce to the eggs and the hash as I always do - and went to town. Overall, the meal presents as a standard good ole home cooking, diner-grade breakfast. I asked my server about the hash when she was ringing me up. She stated that the cook makes a loaf of hash and then serves it up. The reason I asked the question is - in general - I love scratch-made Corned Beef Hash - but every single one I've ever had - looks nothing like what comes out of a can. Service was good. The Men's Restroom needs to be gutted and rebuilt. #Grannys

Very good food, friendly service, homey atmosphere. Definitely a hidden gem! Pace was very leisurely, I wouldn't stop if you're in a hurry, give yourself plenty of time to relax and enjoy.

Very disappointed! We were very excited to come for breakfast and I had researched Granny's on yelp since I'm a big yelper. When we got there, it looked like there was only one server. We waited for a while only for the server to tell us that the order we had placed was going to take much longer. I only had received my coffee. It looked like there was only one cook in the kitchen, and the other servers were sitting down having a break. The restaurant was full of customers and many of them were still waiting. They need to do better in the operations part of it all. It's unfortunate that we didn't even get to try the food because we ended up leaving since we were waiting for a long time.

We also witnessed an unhappy table and a server unable to appease them - the entire situation left us feeling uncomfortable where if servers are trained how to deal with "Karen" customers the dining experience could be better for everyone. Three stars for our experience, this was a road trip visit, so the likelihood of a return visit is unlikely.
