If you're looking for a fast meal you likely won't find it here, both times we've came we waited awhile for our food, some tables being served that arrived after us. I've never had a waitress approach us 4 times asking if we need refills when they can clearly see all our drinks are topped off and had been since they asked us 3 minutes prior. A great little place in Berryville! Doesn't look like much. We had 12 family members on a Monday AM. We had attended our young ladies wedding the night before. They graciously took all of us in. Put several tables together, and wa-la! Coffee came out quickly. We had vegetarians, those who couldn't have dairy, and carnivores. We all ate well, and the food fresh and delicious! The waitress brought each family's order, cooked fresh and hot. This vegetarian, non-dairy eater enjoyed the fresh veggies in my egg white omelet. My hubby and daughter enjoyed their cheese and meat omlets with turkey bacon and fresh, fluffy made pancakes. The whole group was happy, and ready to head in our separate directions! As we were finishing, the groom's family came in to enjoy. Highly recommend for breakfast! Just be careful coming in. Had breakfast here this morning. One of the most extensive breakfast menu's I've seen locally. The only thing I didn't see on the menu was puddin which I love to eat on pancakes with red onion. The country ham is delicious, tried my wife's. I had chip beef gravy on toast. Also available on pancakes and biscuits. Coffee was good, service was good, restaurant was clean. The only downside is it's located outside of Winchester on a bad busy stretch of highway. You need to know where it is or you may drive right past it before you get stopped. There is not much curb appeal, gravel parking lot and mediocre building appearance. Don't let that dissuade you because the food is really enjoyable. read more

Just like Granny's kitchen, it might take more than a minute for your food to be ready, but it's worth the wait! They did only have one person working on the day we visited, but it was a holiday week. Like many other reviews, we were driving through and decided to go a little out of our way to eat at Granny's for lunch, and were glad we did. Our party included a picky child, a diabetic, and one on a diet, and we all left happy. We had a chef salad, a club sandwich, and a breakfast platter with pancakes, eggs, potatoes, and more. I've driven by here a ton of times and wasn't sure what to expect but the food was great - I had a Greek omelet - eggs were cooked well and it was full of fresh tomatoes and spinach. I also got the pancakes and was pleasantly surprised - light, good flavor. It's just diner decor - but the service was excellent. Both the waitress and cook were very attentive. I've been coming to Granny's for breakfast about 14 years off and on. Over the years Gary has done a tremendous job remodeling the place. I've just about always had a good experience there. If there ever was a problem Gary would take care of it. I love my pancakes and I consider Granny's as having the best! If they are super busy sometimes there is a wait, but everything is cooked when ordered! This is not a fast food restaurant. It's hard to find a good country restaurant in this day and time. This small locally owned bar is sooo under the radar and it shouldn't be! This place has amazing karaoke nights on Thursdays (been booming when I have went) and they have amazing breakfast food too, especially for being a bar. The bartenders are also really fun and easy to be around. read more

Wow What a Diamond in the rough! Passing through and looking for breakfast. Went out of the way to try it on a whim, sure glad we did. Doesn't look like much on the outside and it comes up quick on the side of the road, so slow down and look. Great food. Friendly and knowledgeable owner / cook Gary, and waitress Melanie is a gem. After passing this restaurant many times on trips between Maryland and Virginia I decided to stop in for breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelette, biscuit and fried potatoes. The potato serving size was quite small and they were just okay. The omelette was runny inside due to being undercooked. The biscuit was decent and very large. The servers were pleasant but not super attentive. As the experience was mediocre at best I have no plans to return. read more

It took 20 min just to get coffee and water, an hour before even ordering our food, and now we've been here for two hours and still don't have our food. Traveling from NC to NY. Looked up diners on Yelp and found Granny's. Pulled off the Interstate and followed the directions. Actually passed it the first time and circled around, not an easy feat. But so happy we did. The food was excellent!! The coffee was very good but the Rueben sandwich was the best I have had in a very long time. The onion rings were on point. This place was good! The staff was very friendly and super attentive. I ordered the American, with the home fries being my favorite--they were flavorful and some parts crunchy. Don't be fooled by the looks of this restaurant, it is not a fancy place, but boy, the food was really good. There were three of us. Two had the pot roast. The meat was extremely tender, and the gravy was delicious. The homemade mashed potatoes were also very good. The other person was my mom, who had a chicken salad sandwich on rye. That was not on the menu, but my mom asked what the chicken salad was on the menu. The waitress explained it was grilled chicken on a salad. But then she said I can make you chicken salad if you want? My mom said the chicken salad was really good. Homemade garlic bread with the dinners was also good. A very good meal and the people there were very nice. We are not from the area, but if we ever get up this way again, we will definitely be stopping by. read more

Only one person working - breakfast was good but not $32/ 2 people good. My husband and I stopped by on our way home from our trip through New England. The waitress was great and the food was excellent. I had the pork chop dinner and it was the best pork chop I have ever had. My husband got the chicken strips and said they were really good. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had, no kidding. It's hard to screw up bacon & eggs, but it's also hard to get everything as perfect as Granny's did. Fresh coffee. Perfectly done scrambled eggs, with exactly the right seasoning. Generous serving of crisp, hot, freshly cooked bacon (hadn't been laying at the back of the grill all morning). Rye toast with a slather of butter in the kitchen and a great selection of jams and jellies at the table. The potatoes were sliced, not shredded, and cooked with sliced onions. Yum. I missed the turn the first time by, had to drive a couple of miles and make two U turns to get back to the restaurant, thinking "This better be worth it!" the whole time. It DEFINITELY was worth the extra drive time. I'd go twice that far out of my way to get breakfast here again. read more

Our waitress was awesome and even suggested the pancakes with strawberries and chocolate chips! They did not disappoint!!!! It is an easy place to want to drive past, and the insides leave you wondering if you'd teleported to the 1970s. But the food was really good! I got the chicken fried steak w gravy breakfast platter which included homefries, eggs, and pancakes was crispy, not greasy, and moist and flavorful of the inside. The only downside was that it was very chilly inside on a generally chilly January day. Bring a sweater or order a mug of coffee to keep your hands warm. read more
