Tiramisu

Stopped in right after arriving in Venice after stops in Rome, Florence, and the Almafi Coast. This is one of the best if not the best we've eaten in the last two and a half weeks. Don't let the 3.5 stars fool you. This is a 4.5-5 stars all day long!!! Will you wait? Yes, the service is a bit slow, but understand the Italians do not hurry with their meals they are meant to be enjoyed with friends and family not rushed. The food is gluten free and fresh and cooked to order. We tried many plates including the schnitzel, the sea bass and the tuna steak. They were all amazing as were the first courses of pasta. Leave room for dessert because the tiramisu could be the best I've ever had. Our sever Bobo, was amazing! He made sure we were taken care of and kept the wine flowing and waters filled. I highly recommend you come here and enjoy the best of Venice!

We ate dinner here, our only evening in Venice. Made a reservation and hopped a Water Taxi. Great Gluten Free Menu! When we arrived we were told reservations were for indoors only... so we asked to be seated on the patio on the canal. This beautiful evening would not be spent indoors. The staff set up a new table for us, much appreciated. Food and drink came somewhat slowly... but we were sitting in heaven, so what the heck! Pizzas were delicious!

Great food but slow service (at least when we came though they had a huge group of students). Spaghetti bolognese and Daviola were great! Skip the sautéed spinach and Parmesan (needs some salt and pepper and over cooked). Dining room is gorgeous and airy-one of the few times we preferred sitting inside to outside. Great location in Dorsoduro right on the water. Would recommend!

It was nice that this place had a gluten free menu and an easy way to tell what allergies were. The pizza was lovely. The salad was good. Service is a little slow.

Come for the sunset! OKE is a hidden gem along the northern edge of the Canale della Giudecca; while it's out of the way, you'll be glad you went! Close to public transit (though there's no ticket machine at San Basilio, the nearest Actv stop), watch the sun set and the ships sail by on the patio right next to the water. The service was impeccable, and though a bit pricey in additional fees and expensive drinks, the food itself is reasonable and not to be missed. We had a chicken Caesar salad and a pear & brie white pizza. All the dough is made in house, the veggies are organic, and they advertise their lack of gluten as well. The crust was dry, but the pizza itself was not salty whatsoever which was a nice change. The salad was less impressive, as the chicken was slightly overcooked and it could have had more ingredients, but was also pleasant coming from a week of pasta and tiramisu. Overall, would recommend!

Took the water taxi here from the main train station. Pretty close to the water bus stop. We ate on the patio with a lovely view of the water and Venice . The food and drinks were excellent. Great gluten free pizza. Would recommend this place

This is our last night in Italy after living here for 3 months. We wanted a special dinner by the water with our group to enjoy the last sunset we will ever see here. We had made a RESERVATION 2 days ago, for 8 pm for a table by the water. We get here at 8 pm and are told that they gave away our tables to other customers, since we were not here by 7:30, even though our reservation was at 8 pm. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and only given one menu, since all of the menus were outside with the customers that they had given our tables to. We did not receive any bread or water to start us off with. They took over 1 and a half hours to even take our drink order, let alone our food order. We ordered three courses, in which all of them were served at the exact same time, rather than spread out like a course meal should be. Most of the food was cold by the time we got to it, and we were so full that we could not finish all of our food, since we had gotten it all at once instead of separate. After all of that, the food was mid.

I went here not once, but twice. This was the only place in Italy that hit both price + quality at the best intersection possible. Pizzerie Ae Oche is a delicious pizza/pasta restaurant located not too far from the touristy areas of Venice. It's on the south end of the "main" island, closest to Giudecca island. The menu here is quite extensive - and it reminds me more of a health conscious place than a restaurant in Italy. Everything is clearly marked for vegetarian/vegan (note: rocket is a salad green, not a fish), and the pizzas come in a wide variety of toppings and styles. Everything is locally sourced where available, as well. You can have one made to order, but there are a lot of options for meat and/or veg and/or horsemeat eater (lol) as needed, plus the choice between cheese+tomato for base, tomato for base, or cheese only for base (white pizza). Crusts are awesome, as are the topping options. This is one place where the pizzas are wood fired, extremely fresh, delicious and not too oily. Tourist trap pizza places tend to be slathered in oil in comparison. What matters most is that they are all good, and large. If this is your first foray into pizza in Italy do note that what they consider an individual pizza is basically a family pizza in the us - and likewise that the pasta options are considered more like an appetizer and not as an entree. In addition to normal pizza, they also serve dessert pizzas, great pesto pasta (appetizer as noted), and giant awesome calzones. It should be noted that the calzone is considered a personal order but is also sized like a family pizza. However, what meal can be complete without wine? especially in a foreign country. Do not be deceived here vs house wine in the us, as even the house wine options taste great. so we have: budget friendly + great food, all in one package. This is absolutely a "must eat" location in Venice.

The pizza is Less than mediocre. I can't believe it's possible to burn and undercook it at the same time.
