We really enjoyed our meal here! Service was fab and the location was great. Food was exceptional.

Some of the best pasta we had in Italy. Amongst a lot of tourist restaurants, their food is really good. Had prosciutto and finished with house made desert that was delicious.

Neat little spot in Venice not too far from St. Mark's square. Dined here on December 3rd, 2024. Food and service were top-notch. 100% would recommend

Very nice restaurant off the beaten path. From the outside Marco Polo is a restaurant you might walk by. As you look thru the windows and see the crowd you are drawn to find out why the restaurant is full. From the moment we opened the door service was outstanding. The servers speak multiple languages so there will be no issues with communication. With each item on the menu the subtle details are provided to help you decide your choice . As a group of five each choose a different meal so we could determine for ourselves. From the grilled shrimp and fries to the spaghetti carbonara no one was disappointed. I recommend this restaurant to all that want a true Venetian food experience

The food and service was awesome here and the ambience we sat outside and we're just people watching that was fun. The food was so good. They have complementary bread. My husband ordered the spaghetti with squid black pasta and I had the ravioli so delizioso!!

    - Locale Destination - It's on Salisada Castello San Lio and Calle de la Frava in Venice. It's on kinda busy street. Ambiance: warm, cozy, casual Service: prompt Menu: not too big - Gluttony Expedition - Comb breads: nothing special. Amuse bouche: shrimp - not bad. Tagliatelle + porcini: pasta was a bit harder for my liking, but other places were the same. Seasoned well. Good. Cappuccino: bold, good - Conqueror's Deduction - 3.5 stars. Cheap yet decent quality. Not bad.

Service is great! Very friendly staff and can speak English. They have half bottles of selected wine. Note that in Italy, everything gets charged from the napkins to cover charge. We had some eggplant and shrimp which were on the house. My partner was allergic to shrimp but they brought out just the eggplant for him which was very kind of them. They recommended their special of sea bass for two which they will show you fully cooked before removing the bones and serving it to you on your plate. We also ordered the squid ink pasta for first course and the whipped cod on polenta for antipasti which were both delicious.

This place was convenient and right by where we were staying up so was recommended by our host at Airbnb. As other places were reserved we opted to go in with less expectations, and was delightfully surprised. Very attentive staff, got us a god glass of red wine that we wanted to split. We tried a seafood platter, squid ink pasta and gnocchi. They did bring out a nice bread basket as well as complimentary Italian biscuits. Food is definitely pricey in Venice compared to other Italian cities came up to close to 90 USD but it was a good fulfilling dinner right by the Rialto area and finally a perfectly cooked octopus

Last night in Venice for us concluded with an awesome dinner here! So glad Osteria Al Portego was fully booked, didn't like the cramp, stuffy quarters there anyway. Loved how spacious and intimate MP is, the space between tables, the slightly dim lights, the heat level (it was a cold night) all perfect in setting the stage for a romantic and fun dinner. The service was exceptional too. Our server detailed the wine we selected as he opened and poured our bottle for us. He even offered to bring out a bucket of ice to chill the wine since I mentioned I liked it more on the cooler side. After our yummy meal, they topped it with complimentary glasses of sparkling sweet wine. Nice touch! Everything we ate was delicious! The ravioli was buttery, the squid ink pasta was tasty, flavorful and fun (plenty of photo ops, e.g., black teeth and tongue) and the sauce with the chicken was scrumptious. My fav dessert was the tiramisu! Thnx, MP, for making it one of our best nights in Italia! Grazie mille! Buena sera!

Marco Polo came highly recommended both by some friends and by Yelp reviews. I found the food quality very impressive - it was delicious, nicely presented and well cooked. The service was great too. We were seated at a table on the street, which allowed us to people-watch and be amused by the antics of the passers-by. We were having a splendid time until the bill came... While the food was reasonably priced, apparently the house wine (a mediocre tasting monepulciano) cost TWENTY EUROS for a single glass!! Given that a decent bottle of wine in Italy came be had for around eight Euros, I call this a blatant rip-off targeted at tourists. Our very pleasant meal was spoiled by this billing chicanery; I won't be returning, and suggest that anyone who does eat here examine the prices carefully.

OUTSTANDING!! Everything was perfect! The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was perfect, the food was divine, and even the music was enjoyable! I tried to Shazam a song and the server noticed and brought me a slip of paper w the name of the playlist written on it! We were dining w our 2 adult children and 2 minor children and all of us enjoyed the entire experience! We passed around our dishes and enjoyed a bottle of Venetian wine. It was superb! Highly recommend! Our favorite meal of our entire visit!

So it was our first night in Venice and we had two choices. A) Spend a lot of euros per person for a pre-fix tour dinner or B) venture out on our own. We opted for the later and found ourselves a little gem of a restaurant in Venice. The restaurant is darling - dark wood beams, tile floors, candles - there's an intimate feeling even though the doors and large windows are wide open. There are plenty of tables inside for couples or large parties - but our group opted to dine al fresco or 'all'aperto', the best way to dine in Venice. Out waiter was charming and offered up suggestions of wines and pizza toppings and everything that came out of the kitchen was fantastico . Hubs and I selected a salad to start; fresh arugula topped with thin slices of incredible speck and parmesan cheese. A simple salad but absolutely scrumptious. Next up was a thin crusted small pizza with spicy pepperoni. A small pizza (six decent slices) was just enough for two people. The crust was light and crispy, the sauce was sweet, the mozzarella was fresh - all and all a perfect pizza pie. After we split the bill the meal ended up costing us less than half what the tour dinner would have cost: about 30€ for two courses, wine and a nice tip for our waiter. So glad we ventured out on our own... we immersed ourselves in the Venetian culture, had an excellent dinner and ended up saving some money.

We chose this restaurant as part of our Gondola ride tour with Viator (tour package). Wow!! Can I just say that this was the most romantic gondola ride and dinner we had while in Venice. Our expectations were far exceeded. Once the ride/tour was finished we were dropped off from the gondola close by. With the package, there were two restaurants to choose from. We chose to go to Marco Polo and sure glad we did. As we approached they had an available table outside that was candlelit and so breathtakingly beautiful and romantic. Our server was delightful. We decided to buy a nice bottle of wine since our meal was included in the tour. Everything from start to finish was outstanding. I would repeat this entire tour again, and I highly recommend it, it was that wonderful. The tour on Viator is called: Fall in Love in Venice: Romantic Gondola and Typical Venetian Savors

We sat indoors which felt so nice with the AC! The food and drinks were okay taste-wise. I would give the taste a 6.5 out of 10. Good yet not tons of flavor. The food was good for filling our tummies in the moment but not good enough to return. The worst part - food poisoning. I had the calamari and boyyyyy was I sick afterwards. It turned our experience from "okay" to "ouchhhhh". Unfortunately, we will not be returning for more. :(

Was able to make a reservation for 3 somehow on some local platform (spouse) for 8 pm Sunday…read moreevening in June. Other walk in accommodated as much as possible. Arrived a bit early and seated at window seat inside immediately. The inside is cozy but adequate. The staff hustled and were very efficient and friendly. We ordered the seafood special based upon walking in and seeing a huge pan on fresh seafood on table and thus made it easy for me and the kid to decide. It was their house special at 35 euros per person (minimum 2). Included lobster and a bunch of shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari in a red broth. Also two large scallops. Takes at least 30 minutes to prep so need the appetizers to get you by. The also close out the special by tossing in pasta after your done with the seafood into the remaining broth. Full disclosure it's a mess to eat. Must use hands. The cover you with s bib. It was delicious. The spouse does not like briny seafood so she didn't eat much but more than enough for 3 (except not for the scallops and lobster portion). We started with a few appetizers. Spouse had the lasagna. It looked good and home made but again I ignored it due to the mountain in front of me. A few drinks and bottle of water. I wish the pasta was available before the end but understand they want to toss it into your pan of sauce. I had originally asked to order a pasta to complement but they said it came with a pasta after ( so I agreed ). Obviously we are tourist so I can't take extra home of which would have been plenty. Total cost about 143 euros. (No additional taxes or tip). Credit card available but we needed to roll home to hotel so left 150 cash on table.
