Grilled squid with grilled polenta on the sides
    Josh W.

Overall this place was good and is worth eating at, especially to try some of the seafood dishes. My wife and I were trying to find somewhere that served seafood (not just pizza and pasta) that was just far enough from St. Mark's to avoid the highest prices. Service: Our service was much better than what others here have noted. Our waitress was friendly and responsive. When there was a mistake with our side dish (bringing french fries instead of grilled veggies) she apologized and corrected it immediately. Our main courses took about 20-30 minutes to arrive, but assuming they made the risotto fresh, that would make sense. Overall good service, no one rushed us to leave. Food: I had the risotto al nero di seppia (risotto with cuttlefish ink). The flavor is hard to describe. My wife described it as "tomato-y", so perhaps there was a little tomato sauce in it. It was tasty, especially the pieces of cuttlefish. I read that this is a specialty dish in Venice so you should try it at least once. My wife had the crab risotto, which was full of the taste of crab and butter in each bite. Both of the risottos came in large portions and I didn't even finish all of mine. For an appetizer we tried the grilled squid, which was cooked just right, tender and not rubbery, came with whole baby squids, and had two pieces of grilled polenta on the sides. As a side, we had grilled vegetables, which came as expected, nothing more or less. Drinks: We had Aperol spritzes, which didn't have enough Aperol in them so they weren't very good compared to all the others I've been drinking during our time in Italy. Mostly just tasted like Prosecco. Price: Our main dishes were around 15-16 euros each. I think the spritzes were a bit more expensive than what you could find elsewhere. It wasn't the cheapest place, but it was a little less expensive than other places that are closer to St. Mark's. Ambience: We sat outside by one of the canals, right across from where gondolas pick up passers-by. The area had some foot traffic but wasn't too crowded so it was pleasant for an evening out.

We were a little afraid this place was a tourist trap but were pleasantly surprised by our meals. Our food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly. We enjoyed everything we ordered, which was Gnocchi in pesto sauce, lasagna Bolognese and mushroom risotto. La Mela Verde is a couple doors down and I highly recommend to grab some Gelato from there after having a meal here.

At first we thought this restaurant would be a trap but it wasn't! We had a waiter greet us and convince us to eat there (why we thought it was a tourist trap) but we were wrong! We enjoyed Bellinis on the canal, appetizers, and some cannolis! The service and food were great!

I happened upon this place on accident. I was looking for someplace to get fish of the day and we walked past this place in the morning. At night, I was still in the mood for some fish and we went back. We looked at the menu and I was very hesitant. It was in three languages and it had some pictures (typical signs of a tourist trap), but they still had a sign that said pesci di giorni (fish of the day). I walked up to the man and asked what the fish of the day was. He said Branzino. I asked how much it cost. He said 26 euro. My husband and I were debating paying this much, but decided to try it out. We went inside and ordered a glass of house red wine each. I ordered the branzino baked and my husband ordered the Riso Frutti Amari (seafood risotto). The waitress said that the fish would take about 25 minutes to prepare and asked if we wanted to order an antipasti. We were pretty hungry so we got the bruschetta to share. I was pleasantly surprised with the bruschetta. It was one of the best I have ever had. The tomato's were incredibly fresh and lightly seasoned and the bread was still warm. Our main dishes came out and I was not disappointed. I got an entire fish. I asked the waitress to prepare it for me. She removed the head, backbone and outer parts and cut the fish in half for me. I would still be careful and watch out for bones as you are eating. Wow. This fish was the freshest I have ever had. It was well seasoned in a light sauce and had baked vegetables on the side. It was way too much to eat so my husband got to have some as well. My husbands risotto was pretty good. I wouldn't call it the best we've ever had, but it was well prepared and tasted good.

The food was absolutely amazing and very authentic! I tried this other place in San Marco, let's just say I will never go back. I was very satisfied with my food her and my husband loved it. The inside is wet small but they offer seats outside as well. We chose the seats outside, the weather was perfect and the scenery was good as well.

The fish was already filet. 500g of grilled seafood. Delicious!

We liked this restaraunt so much that we ate here twice. The staff were so lovely. Remembered us every time we walked past the front door during the day. The first night I had a seafood platter with a little bit of everything the first night along with a lobster pasta that we shared. Super fresh, not cheap, but delicious! The second night we had pizza....also delicious. Service was very friendly. I felt like they'd know me if I came back a month or two later. There's something to be said for that feeling you get when you're in your neighborhood. That's how we felt. I'll be back!

Beautiful place but the food is not good at all. I would not reccomend it. I must say that our waitress was wonderful tho.

Expensive and fake italian. There are many other places. They even force you to pay 12% of tip and they give horrible service.
