(This is a 3.5 star review) My friends and I decided to order delivery from pizza vita for a cozy movie night in. Thankfully, the delivery was pretty quick! I ordered the drunken pizza with vodka sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, and basil ($15). They're personal pizzas, and I did feel like it was a decent size for the price. I love a vodka pizza, and while the flavor combination of this was good, the crust unfortunately was way too thin. I've had all types of thin crust pizza before, but this was so flimsy that the topping to crust ratio was off and the pizza fell apart in all of our hands. That was a bit disappointing, and I'm curious if the same is true when the food is eaten fresh at the restaurant. Generally, still a good experience, but didn't blow us away unfortunately. read more

The pizzas come out of the oven like wet noodles. I like a nice crispy crust. So I brought it home and heated it up on a cast iron pan and it was much better. read more

I've been wanting to try the Pizza Vita food truck for ages and finally got it for dinner last week! The crust is perfect, not too heavy but not too thin. The vodka sauce on the Drunken pizza was so flavorful. It was definitely the favorite of the two pizzas we tried. The Tony Pepperoni could've used a little more meat and cheese, I don't know that we'd order that one again. Overall, we really enjoyed Pizza Vita food truck and would get it again the next time it comes to our area. read more

Pizza Vita is a HarbourView favorite for a reason! Their pizzas were freshly made and absolutely incredible -- it's amazing how they manage such quality right out of their truck. Always a crowd-pleaser, and we're thrilled to have them at our events! read more

I loved the pizza here. Closest thing to Neapolitan style I've found in the area. Nice chewy crust, not too much cheese or toppings. No grease at all. Just a nice light pizza. Service was prompt. read more

I've enjoyed your pizza from your truck parked on the pier in Hoboken. Tasty and quickly baked!

*Pre COVID Review* I had the pleasure of having Pizza Vita at Pier 13, along side a line of other food trucks. The fact that this food truck had a brick oven was what drew me in. At the time, $10 for a personal pie (12'') sounded like a great deal to me. Nowadays, I believe the cost of pies have increased. (I understand cost of products fluctuate however become discouraged when prices continuously change). They have a variety of pies to choose from. Being that it was my first time, we went ahead and ordered a Plain Jane and a Tony Pepperoni. I wouldn't say it was the best pizza I've had because the bottom of the pie could have been more evenly cooked (we had ordered 3 or 4 pies), but it was great for what it was.. Especially if you've had a few drinks at the pier. Pizza Vita is cash only ** read more

We take advantage of the Tuesday two pizzas for the price of one. The pizza is ok. Not great, but definitely as good as most places. The pizzas are not large so one pizza is only enough for one or two people. The ambiance is clean but pretty close to a fast food locale and certainly not fancy. Staff is cheerful and polite. So far the pizzas are always ready on time. read more

Is that a brick oven on wheels passing me on the highway? Why yes, it is. Do brick ovens traditionally drive on the highway? No, they do not. The only thing better than brick oven pizza is brick oven pizza on wheels that comes to where you are - which just happens to be Pier 13 in Hoboken. I always walk in craving it, and after a few beers I gravitate, without much control, over to Pizza Vita for a pie that's ready in as much time as it takes me to check a few e-mails. You can choose from a short list of PV pizza staples, and they generally have a special to complement the usual menu. Honestly, I can't be pulled away from the margherita - just the right amount of cheese, very obviously homemade sauce, and a crust that is a perfect balance of crispy and chewy. I almost always get it, and it never disappoints. Cash only, pizza only, delicious only. It's a fantastic deal for $10, and you'll definitely be able to kill the whole thing. Pre beer, post beer, or no beer at all - do find the time to grab a pie on your way in or out of uptown Hoboken. It'll be the best pizza decision (and likely best decision in general) you'll make all day. The simpler the better - the way pizza should be done. read more

I recently went to an outside graduation party and this pizza food truck was hired. It was great, as we had access to unlimited pizza, for 2 hours. I must say, this pizza tasted great. I love brick oven pizza , it's my favorite. It was really cool to see the pizza being made outside and cooked in 90 seconds. I tried the margarita pie, meathead pie, and the pepperoni pie. My favorite was the meathead, since it had multiple toppings lol, but honestly all of them we excellent. The mozzarella cheese and sauce both worked well, on their dough, and cooked in the awesome oven in the truck. Its such a great idea to hire a pizza food truck for a party. I loved it. Even after the 2 hour window, they made extra pie and put them in boxes, for guests to take home. I recommend everyone try this place. read more

The pizza here is solid. Super impressed with this wood fire oven pizza from a *truck*! The service is quick and pizza is tasty. I ordered, turned around to admire the view at Pier 13 for a bit, and BAM the pizza was ready. I had the margherita pizza: the crust was nice, thin and crispy, the cheese was melty, gooey with a few crispy bits. Pretty much perfect. *smacks lips* read more

Overall I think it was worth trying out the pizza here but not something I particularly appreciated. For one, the Margherita pie was exactly the same as plain one, except for the basil. I also ordered a Tony Pepperoni which was ok and the sopressata was a bit gamey. Of course, YMMV. read more

Went for Lunch Food - 3/5. The tartufi special was disappointing. Since one of their goals are to pop the pizzas in 90 seconds, not much roasting gets done for the toppings. The mushrooms were wet and the sausages could've used more browning. The toppings were completely uneven with half of the pie receiving 75% of the toppings and the lack of care visually impacts your meal. Crust was very average with none of the elasticity you would want in a brick oven pizza. Service - 3/5. The harborside area is visited by a lot of people who come down for lunch in the limited time they have. Being demanded to engage in small talk past a simple greeting seems pretty audacious to me when the other party has no idea what kind of situation the customer might be in. A bad feeling when you're the one spending your money. Value - 2/5. I understand the limitations of not having a permanent kitchen but it's hard for me to overlook that the food was subpar. The prices aren't bad for a personal pie between $10-$12 but if the pizza itself isn't good, it seems even more expensive. The prices are also average in comparison to the competitors but they only accept cash, which is another minus. Parking - Parking Garage (Metered) read more

This is the second time coming to Pizza Vita and to my surprise, there wasn't a wait on a Saturday night. I ordered the Buffalina and Jersey Boy pizzas to share with one other person and it was the perfect amount of food. Their service was great and the pizzas came out fast. They tasted amazing; I love how they don't skimp on the toppings! I only wish the bottom of the pizzas were a bit more crisp so they wouldn't get soggy so fast. In all, a good experience. I will definitely come back to try their other pizzas! read more

I never would think that I can get a personal sized pizza pie in 90 seconds but they can do it. Amazingly fast and extremely tasty. If you are in the mood for fresh made pizza, this food truck is generally parked outside of Harborside Financial Center on Columbus Street. Ordering is fast and easy with several vareties. My favorite is the Fun Guy which is made with fresh mozzarella, a little sauce, mushrooms with truffle oil. You can taste the earthy flavors. It is not thick or thin crust, sort of in the middle. Plenty of chew if you like your pizza a chewy. It is just fast and tasty, well worth the 90 seconds wait. There are two gentlemen operating this food truck. One takes orders, cash and boxes your pie. The other makes your pizza and places it into the wood burning oven. It is so streamlined, order your pie and hangout to the right. Great idea, just love going and grabbing a pie and stuff my face. Pretty good deal as well for the price. read more

Pizza Vita - The guys making pizza - Food Trucks Near Me

When you take something so magical and have the ability to transport it, it becomes something even JC would say, "Me, this stuff is off the hook". So when I heard the best pizza ever was now mobile I thought, "Stop bsing me!". Seriously folks this is the sh*t. When I was at the Summit Farmers Market there is was, the orange beacon of deliciousness. After talking with the owner he basically disassembled a truck, mounted a brick oven that was shipped from Naples Italy (he isn't playing games here people) and then put it back together. Pure brilliance! Recommended: Breakfast pizza which is their ridiculous pizza topped with fresh mozzarella, Italian ham and an egg... This is a must try...ENJOY! *the truck is also going to be at Rutgers home games...something to make going to a Rutgers game worth while!* read more

Something seems very dangerous about a wood-fired pizza oven in a food truck, but their risk was my reward. These guys were sitting out front of Pier 13 in Hoboken when I was in the mood for some food. Among the 5 or so trucks lined up in front of the pier, they were the last ones open. This also meant they were only offering one option: plain cheese. Take it or leave it. I'll take it. It might have been a 10 inch pie at best, but for $1/inch, it was worth every bite. Very fresh. Left me wanting to try more of the menu and inspired to go check out their brick and mortar location in Summit. read more

First of all I have to say, I am very sorry for the rest of the team of Pizza Vita because of one person of this team who is acting like a ... let say ... not nice person. We were visiting a Apartment Complex at the River Road and was obviously standing at the spot where the Food Truck stopps. I was just looking for my keys and couldn't find them immediately. So the guy in the Food Truck pushing the horn at least 10 times for very long time. But what should I do, I couldn't find my keys and his acting wasn't helpful at all. The plan was to park the car and grab some Pizza from this Food Truck. So we decided to call our friends and we drove to another Pizza place at City Place - Izzy's. Very good Pizza by the way and very nice staff. Every time my friends see the Pizza Vista Food Truck is coming and the want Pizza they are looking for a Pizza place in the area. Sorry very unfriendly acting staff. read more

We had their pizza from the truck yesterday at a street fair. Talk about quick, tasty, fresh, and a perfect crust! I also had tacos from another truck that was dry & shall remain nameles. Excellent pizza, friendly service and served in just 90 SECONDS! Seeing the wood fire on a truck -- not a trailer -- is pretty cool. We tried their Tony Pepperoni, which confusingly enough has no pepperoni but instead is topped with thin slices of excellent sopressata ($10). It's a personal-size pie, nice char on the bottom of the crust, perfect thickness and doughiness for me (this is not a cracker-thin crust), just the right amount of sauce, altho ours was a little light on the mozzarella cheese. These are extremely good pies, $10 is cheap compared to some markets, but twelve bucks for the breakfast pizza seemed unnecessarily spendy. This Saturday morning the truck was at the Chatham farmer's market. Wish they had an option to serve their pies on something like plates, instead of wasting a box for something I'm gonna eat on the park bench 10 feet away :) read more

Big fans of these guys in their Summit location. But, in my opinion, the truck is even better. The pizza cooks perfectly crisp from the truck. Smaller slightly different oven and for my taste, cooks a little better. They are in Jersey City famers markets, Hoboken near Sinatra park, and now have even moved into NYC. I have had them many times at their hometown Summit famers market. BREAKFAST PIZZA is to die for. Breakfast for champs on Sunday mornings....Margherita with sunny side egg and crisp soppresata....OMG The truck is a genius invention and one of a kind. Who would think to put a 3500lb wood fired oven in a truck? Can't believe nobody has posted about them.....Happy to be the first! read more

Not really ever the type of person to leave a review but I feel obligated to at this point. I really liked pizza vita but the quality of food has been going to significantly. I always order the cauliflower bites as a vegetarian. Almost every time I got them they were delicious. The last two times I noticed a difference. The last time was horrible. The cauliflower were mushy and there was very little breading on them. So basically, it was just soggy customer drenched in Buffalo sauce. It's really annoying cause people work hard for their money and y'all charge $13 for cauliflower bites... I would hope the quality would match the price. The pizza is always great but I can no longer spend my money here and I really want a refund. Just lost a customer. I posted a picture o what happened when I pick up the cauliflower to eat it. What was left of the mushy breading completely rubbed off the customer. Terrible. read more

Did you know that a pizza can go from a concept to a real, physical thing ready to go into your mouth in about 3 minutes? Well it can! These guys (whom I found at Pier 13 in Hoboken) make your pizza to order in just a few minutes. Dough + sauce + fresh cheese [+ optional additional toppings] + about 90 seconds in the wood-fired oven = piping hot deliciousness! In about as much time as it would take you to get a boring bready sandwich at Subway or Jimmy Johns. And yes, this all comes from a truck parked on a pier. Minus half a star for only having one size (12"--which I devoured by myself for lunch, but I was really hungry) and not having drinks, as far as I could tell, but I'm rounding up for a rare 5-star-er. (FYI, cash only.) read more

I don't get what people love about this pizza so much. I've had it 3 times on the pier in Hoboken and I was disappointed every time. (Disclaimer: the only reason I got it more than once is because I forgot that I had had it before.) The wait is long, the pizza is soggy, the toppings usually just fall off. The crust is fine but nothing to write home about. As far as pizza goes, there are plenty of other much better options in NJ. read more

Can a pizzeria housed in a small, mobile truck really serve up better pizza than most brick and mortar locations? If that truck is Pizza Vita, the answer is yes. Like most trucks, Pizza Vita's menu is compact: maybe 6 - 8 different Neapolitan-style pies, all personal-size (12"), with a variety of toppings. The crust is chewy and good, and the sauce is plentiful, with a fresh (not cooked / canned) taste. As you can see from others' photos, the pies are topped with dollops of fresh mozzarella, and the toppings are high quality and really good. I'd be happy to eat one of these at a sit-down place, and the fact that they can turn one out in just a few minutes from a truck is remarkable. Some of the other Pier 13 trucks seem to levy an unspoken 'location tax': you get either smaller portions, or higher prices, or both, than you'd expect. Not Pizza Vita: for $10-12, you get a 12" pie that's plenty filling for one, and maybe even enough for two. One of the best trucks and best deals on the pier, IMO. read more

Food was decent. Waitress was not friendly. Made us wait too long just to give an order.. I didn't like the fact that you can't get a slice of pizza. You can only order a 12" pie (personal pan). No crispy lettuce . $30 for two small sales with chicken is a bit pricey for me. read more

The pizza truck shows up to the Chatham and Summit farmers market (sat & sun mornings). Place your order and 90s later you have fresh hot goodness to enjoy.
