We were lucky to get here in time to be seated quite quickly for a Saturday evening. The place was buzzing and quite packed with customers. Nice little spot on the corner with a very high energy and involved owner. He's super nice and definitely a lot of fun. Stopping by each table and joining in conversation if the group is open to it. But he's also assisting with seating and helping folks get settled or bringing things out to the tables. Because it was so busy, our pizzas took a bit of time but the calamari came out on time. The calamari wasn't bad but definitely wasn't the best I've had. The pies however were quite nice. Definitely prefer the margherita and it's great cuz you can add things to it as well. Not your regular pizza shop in and out in a strip mall. This place is refined dining with inside and outdoor seating. Staff was attentive and prices reasonable, including a happy hour cocktail. The bathroom was available to use and CLEAN. Chefs kiss! We thoroughly enjoyed the Margherita pizza, mozzarella appetizer, and focaccia bread with rosemary seasoning. 5 we split it all between 3 people and had left overs. Star all of it. We came early for a Liberty game and this place was less than a five minute walk to Barclays, couldn't ask for a better first time experience. After we ordered, the waiter never came back to our table for the entirety of the meal. We were continually ignored and had to ask 3 times for the check. Once he finally came, he was upset that he only received a 12% tip. Since when is the automatic assumption that you receive 20% regardless of the service you provide?? We had a pretty racist experience. The staff moved a table and my umbrella dropped to the floor. The staff tried to give my umbrella to the people at the table next to us and acted like I was trying to steal my own umbrella. The staff basically ignored us for most of our dinner. They gave us our bill with an attitude then acted like they weren't expecting a tip from us. They didn't deserve us, they didn't deserve our courtesy, they didn't deserve the tip we left, and we didn't deserve the service we got. Would not recommend. read more

The waitress was fast and gave suggestions. The home made Sangria was fruity. The wine punch served over ice did not disappoint. Americana San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, honey spice olive oil, basil, with sausage and pepperoni had all of six slices. The oven crispy fire roasted crust was good, but it was definitely smaller than I expected. The staff was attentive, friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Televisions and surround sound was everywhere throughout the restaurant, to be at the bar during the NBA finals would definitely make for a great evening. The service was nice, but missed a few marks (i.e. asked if my husband's tiramisu dessert could have the candle or be specialized and they brought out the panna cotta with the sparkly candle which was cool, but in the wron6f dessert and it went out before they got to the table lol...) I did come back the next day for take out to get the pasta Genovese again because it was so good, but at 23+tax, a 30+ min drive and not a full stomach, it will probably not be a regular place for us. Normally I enjoy a Neapolitan pizza. A fast cook, chewy crust, and fresher ingredients than what goes into a normal pie. Unfortunately this pizza was expensive and you only get four slices instead of six. The pie I got was also really sweet, sickly so. Maybe other pies work better, but this nearly ruined my palate. The honey was too much. I also felt the crust was way too chewy. The side Arancini is really delicious even though you only get two of them. That was nice. I was the only person there, but two other parties came by the time I finished eating. They have a decently spaced interior, though the tables near the window are a tighter squeeze. The interior has modern decor around the pizza oven. I ordered a Margherita pizza ($19). I think it is on the pricier side but not outrageous. I enjoyed the pizza; the dough was soft and chewy, the tomato sauce has a nice acidity, and there was no burning or char on the pizza. I wish there was a bit more basil, but the pizza still tasted good. As soon as I sat down, the waitress told me about the most popular pizza, which is the Americana ($22), which I just didn't go for because I'm not the biggest spice fan. Everything else was self-serve; I served myself from the bottle of water, so I cannot speak that much to service. Came here for New Year's Eve dinner tonight and Pizza Secret did not disappoint. Firstly, the name of this restaurant is fantastic, kudos to whoever came up with the name. Making a reservation was very easy, and they had no problem accommodating my party of five, and I only called this afternoon. We ordered plenty of appetizers, the Tiella Mista, a sampler which came with a variety of fried items, as well as the Polipo Grigliato, and the Parmigina al Forno. As a table our favorite was the Tris de Montanare. I was not a fan of the Parmigina al Forno, the eggplant, the cheese was super over cooked and hard and not nearly enough eggplant. I had ordered a cosmopolitan with my meal, but sadly the drink wasn't a true cosmo and was far too watery. I wouldn't recommend getting a cocktail here. For the pizza, we had the Pummarola & Prosciutto and the Bufala D.O.P. Both were fantastic and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the Pummarola & Prosciutto because of all the arugula and cheese combinations. Our waitress was lovely and working so hard to accommodate all patrons. Came here for lunch randomly and it was actually really good. When you get inside the restaurant looks nice and spacious and you're greeted when you enter. Had an early dinner here for the first time before the Liberty game last night. The pizza is definitely good, but way overpriced for what it is. They do not offer the larger pizzas for dine-in. They also have pretty meager pasta portions. The service is ok, but don't check on you enough. I won't go back. There are many other options nearby. Recently came here before heading to a basketball game. Great location and fast service! My party ordered 2 pizza, 2 salads, and an appetizer and it was just the right amount of food for 4 people. I'd recommend the mushroom truffle pizza. The burrata pizza was good as well but it came with meat on it so as a vegetarian, I would not order it again. Their secret? Unprofessionalism and total lack of regard for customers health. I hate writing bad reviews but this was by far the worst restaurant I have EVER been to. Politely tried to send rotten entree back, were told it wasn't rotten and we both woke up food poisoning, Thank You, Pizza Secret!! Long story short: We ordered a pizza, took one and two bites, realized it was rotten and politely asked for something else, were told by the owner and chef (through our waitress) that they "disagreed" and refused to "waste $23", but we both still woke up the next morning with food poisoning! Me and a friend went for dinner last week (party of two), and were looking forward to trying the pizza's, as a local I had never been and Pizza Secret's atmosphere always looked so welcoming and fun. However, our experience could not be any further from that. We ordered the Fritto Di Marse (average), 4 Formaggi, and pesto pasta (unable to find it on the menu, but attached a photo below). While the fritto di marse was good (7/10), the pasta took over 45 minutes (3.5/10) and was too hard, the sauce was okay. However, the 4 Formaggi (-10/10) made both of us sick. Initially, after trying it, my friend asked me if it tasted fresh and was okay to eat- from one bite, it tasted absolutely spoiled, we both regularly eat blue cheese (and the other ingredients...) and it was clear to us (and our waitress) it was no longer good. We politely asked our waitress for something else and she was instructed by the owner and chef that there "was nothing that could be done", when we clarified that it was not a taste issue but a health concern, our waitress understood and tried to clarify things with her boss and the chef but again was told, "nothing could be done" and they "were not okay with wasting $23". We of course were not going to continue eating something that we felt was rotten (And thankfully we didn't because from 1 bite and 2 bites we both had food poisoning) and were charged the full price. Neither the chef or owner ever approached us or had any comment, explanation or apology. We both were throwing up and sick the following morning/day:( I am local and dine often/frequently in Prospect Heights, Park Slope, and Fort Greene, I am mainly bummed because of the service, I understand things happen, and wouldn't have thought twice and perhaps would have been a regular if the situation was handled a bit more tastefully (seriously no pun intended) and professionally. Regardless, I do want to recognize and acknowledge our waitress, as she was the only person who showed any hospitality or really common decency. Our entire interaction with her was polite on both ends, she repeatedly apologized, and condemned how the Chef and Owner handled it. She additionally gave us two limoncello's as an apology, as she was "humiliated" it was being treated this way and understood and agreed with us. We really appreciated her:)) read more

The Americana had pepperoni on it, and the SF pizza came with broccoli Rabe puree and sausage. It was a good size pizza for one person. It was definitely fresco tasting, and I liked that. I like natural ingredients in my pizza. We had a Limoncello Drop, and a Whiskey Fix...yeah I know...but it was 5pm somewhere so, drink up. Drinks were good. Everything came quickly, and hot. I'm very greedy and I like to eat fast so I burned my mouth trying to eat the pizza. There were minimal decorations, it felt like I was eating in someone's dining room. It was an open concept. We could see them making our pizza. Got a free dessert for checking in on the Yelp app. We got the tiramisu. I didn't like it but my wife did. She said it was creamy and delicious. I've never liked tiramisu. I only have two negatives about this place. The tables were too low for me to fit my legs under. I had to swing my legs to the side in order to eat at the table. I'm 6'4, so I know it's not fair to say cuz most people aren't that tall, but I wasn't comfortable. The cost of eating here was high. I know we were in Park Slope, but our bill was $89 before tip.
