My go to spot for pizza. My baber Jay has a shop next door and kept telling me about how good the food was. He told me to try a calzone after my cut. I brought it home (pepperoni, ham, and jalapeno) and it was probably the best thing I've ever had from a pizza place. Needless to say when I'm solo or after a cut I grab a calzone for lunch but if I'm with the wife and kids we get a large pizza which has the best crust you can imagine. Pizza Plus is by far the best pizza we've had since moving to the Central Valley from the Bay Area. It's pretty pricey but worth it for the taste. Loads of toppings on "the everything", lots falls off but still plenty stays on. The crust is probably just as good as the pizza itself. Crispy crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Ever since my friends barber shop moved next door to Pizza Plus, we have made it a tradition to go out for pizza after haircuts. They have THE best pizza! My husband and I get the Santa Fe Special, and Hawaiian or pepperoni for the kids. We always get the cheese garlic bread & the salad bar too - delicious. Pizza Plus has quickly become my favorite pizza place, I'm just sorry I waited so long to try them out! Just wish they would fix the broken video games, or replace them. My kids love to play the arcade games while we wait for our pizza to be ready (okay, and I do too! Lol). read more

We purchased 3 pizzas this morning for a luncheon with friends living near by. Everyone agreed that they were the best in area. Some had lived in Modesto for years and had never eaten their pizzas before, but going forward, Pizza Plus is their place of choice for pizza. Sure, the toppings almost everywhere are fresh, but the veggies here actually have a crisp and are juicy. They have a tendency to make the pizzas super gooey with cheese too. Finally tried it.... called in for carryout order, went home and fam ate (some of it).... decent. They rang me up incorrectly and charged me double. Lady in charge took care of it. Got home, opened the boxes and they Overcooked my pizzas (crunchy barely chewable), breadsticks were AWESOME though. And my combination (or "everything" pizza i think they call it) was lacking CHEESE. Even my kids who love far less superior pizza asked if we ordered it with no cheese. I wish i could post a picture of this pizza. Feel sad, hungry, and ripped off. I paid more for this than the same order at R.T. love and shop local when possible but after hearing the positive word of mouth about PizzaPlus what a let down. Gonna call and complain (waste my time talking to people who don't care about making the good pizza i heard about since moving here). I've been coming to pizza plus for a few years now, and let me tell you, no pizza compares to me. Pizza is one of my favorites and I always figure you might as well pay extra for quality and not cheap cardboard. Every time I come in I am greeted with a smile, not a single bad experience throughout the years, I love seeing my food made in eyesight, it shows that they care about you enough to be honest, to show you what you are getting, and not some greasy half cheesed questionable mess. I still remember my first slice, I went with good 'ol cheese because I judge pizza by crust, sauce and cheese not based off the toppings. The crust is crunchy and soft at the same time, it isn't soggy and stale and it's always cooked to perfection. The sauce is excellent, it isn't a mess and its full of flavor. The cheese is what really gets me, never have I had a pizza where each slice is a waterfall of cheese, like in the cartoons when I was a kid, my first time having pizza plus I turned to my friend and said "I had no idea pizza could seriously do this!" I was so happy and I made sure to tell them about it. I always try to thank them for their high quality food and service every time I go in. I recommend Pizza Plus the anyone who actually cares about the quality of food they eat. Make sure you have a nice little pile of napkins, a full drink and don't be afraid to eat like a kid again. I have lived in LA for 12 years, and no pizza compares to Pizza Plus. The ingredients always taste fresh. Their sauce is delicious. And the crust? This is the only pizza crust that I don't throw away. The pizza is so good, I even eat the crust. It's funny that there is such an outstanding pizza parlor in this small town in Northern CA. It was out first time going to pizza plus in Riverbank, I had always been a big fan of the one in Oakdale so we decided to give it a try, And sadly I was very disappointed I called in my dine in order 10 minutes before I went in the girl on the phone said it would be about 30 minutes. By the time I got there stood in line the server so slow that our food has been sitting out the whole time, when we finally got our pizza, breadsticks and wings all of our food was cold. So I asked the girl with the purple hair who was register if there was any way, if they could warm it up Not to remake it but only warm it up she said that they couldn't do it because they were backed up and it will take about 40 min, if. I told her I understand that they were busy but we didn't come to eat cold food and just simply wanted them to warm it up, she said that they couldn't do it. So I asked her for to go boxes so we went home and had to warm up our food after being there for more then hour. Not to mention that the people next to us had just send a pizza back for having a hair in it. I can strongly say that I will never return to pizza plus again. read more

The first time I ever tried pizza plus pizza was when I lived in waterford ages ago. It was great until a new owner took over. Then when I moved to Modesto one opened up near me so I tried that one. Its was just awful. Plus they didn't put much cheese on the "garlic cheezy bread". So, now I work in Riverbank on occasion and have been considering trying this location. Well, I was sooooo glad I did. They ROCK! I am a amateur expert pizza taster. I have tried Mountain Mikes, Pizza Hut, Three Guys, Dominoes and so on. This place beats them all. The pepperonis werent burnt to a crisp (like MM), the crust was cooked all the way through and lighty crunchy (unlike PH), the seasonings were perfect (unlike Dominoes) and when I picked up my piece of "supreme- whatever- the -name -of- it -was" pizza, the crust did not curl under so that all the edible toppings would slide right down onto my plate. Now, sometimes I am in a mood for burnt pepperoni and raw dough(kidding), but in the future, if I happen to be in town and craving a true pizza this shall be my pizza stop. read more

We have eaten at the Pizza Plus in Ripon many times & even the one in Escalon a couple of times. We thought this one would be the same. Boy were we mistaken! As so soon as we walked in the man (I would assume to be the owner) acted as if we were bothering him that we were there. Right then and there we should have walked out. My daughter ordered the salad bar $6.99 (which had nothing more than lettuce, a few other veggies & some pasta). My husband ordered the calzone and I got the sub sandwich. I had to remind the guy that we would like drinks. It came to about $30.00 as we are sitting we realized that he didn't even ask what we wanted in the calzone. My daughter went told the rude man what we wanted. We sat and watched him slam the trays and throw the food around. At this point there seemed to be only 1 other employee there who was sitting with her husband/boy friend eating and watching Tv. Later a couple teenage kids appeared from the back. But I guess they aren't allow to prepare food. Or help the stressed out guy under pressure. Then the phone rang. That made the man really mad. He answered it then slammed down the phone. Finally the lady finished eating got up and went to the back bringing out 3-4 dishes she had washed at a time. She took a couple of orders then the phone rings again. She answered it, asked the person to hold, sits the phone on the counter and walks away. After awhile we hear the phone beeping and she says "Oops, I forgot I asked someone to hold, of well" and she laughs. We finally get our food, what a let down. It was nothing like what you get a the other Pizza Plus's. There was 1/4 of the meat on the sub and you didn't even get any chips or peppers. The calzone wasn't even close to the size of Ripon's. And didn't come with any dipping sauce. Probably could have asked for some but didn't was tired of being treated like we were a bother already.The phone rings again. The rude man picks it up and says "fine don't call again" and slams down the phone. Then goes and stands outside in front of the front door and talks on his cell phone. Real professional. Maybe he should drive to Ripon and observe how it is done before claiming the name. I can say I have Never wrote a bad review before but I thought I needed to let others know. Don't do like we did and drive out of your way to go to this one. Stick with what you know. Just because you know the name they're not the same. read more
