    Where's the ricotta?
    Mitch K.

I was looking forward to trying Pizza Mamma and unfortunately it's a once and done. The picture is of their Hot Honey pizza and...where's the ricotta? I also added mushrooms and there weren't too many on it. It might have been an off night for them but I can't spend the $$$ if they're going to forget ingredients. Side Note: There's such a disparity in ratings between Google Reviews (4.4) and Yelp (3.0). The rating is definitely closer to the 3.

I recently picked up pizza from here and thought this spot's interior was super cute. I loved the light up marquee letters. Arrived a few minutes early for pickup and our pizzas were ready to go. My favorite pizza was a current special they had going on-- pink vodka pizza. The sauce was super flavorful and I loved the crust. I'd definitely order again!

Woahhh mamma this place is great. Slices I've had periodically have all been good, I love a nice crispy reheated slice. The vodka chicken grinder though is where the magic is. That sandwich, extra sauce, add ricotta. Death bed sandwich. Thank me later

2.5 stars I guess if a business is trying to be good at 3 styles of pizza 5 stars is a stretch goal. The New York slices were very good, a little thicker than the hand toss places in RI, more like NY. 4 stars for the NY slices Sicilian were cooked to perfection, not doughy, no gumline, just the crust really did have any taste to it. Felt rush at the registered, order 5 slices, wanted to sign up for the reward program but the girl pushed the order through a little fast. No receipt offered, and no offer of the punch cards. All the slices were double stacked and cramped into one small pizza box. The slices were barely reheated, cold to touch, the girls were happy to reheated everything and were pleasant Slices are $4+ each, so these should be served at the correct temperature. And not double stacked in the same box. Will be back to try the Detroit style.

Obsseseeddddd. This is like a fairly new pizza place and I was skeptical because of reviews are mixed. I have to say I'm literally obsessed. The Detroit pizza is to die for and the regular pieces are just as good. I wish I lived closer. I would go every weekend.

Ok so what's there to say about this pizza... 1st momma may know best but definitely not about pizza! I ordered the NY style for pick up, got half veggies and ricotta and half mozzarella. The sauce was bland bland bland and the crust just as bland and soggy in the middle. The sign and lights are a coverup for the dark and sad looking pizza you get in the box. Will not order again, sorry mamma!

Came here recently for slices. I'm picky for pizza.. This place hit the marks. They have a great variety of slices- this is a key point- you don't know if they'll have a full assortment when you go. You might hit the lottery and get there when a Detroit pizza comes out and you can get a slice. It goes fast. People who are eating in see those come out and all go back to the counter to buy it up. That said, the Detroit and Sicilian are 100% worth coming here for. For NY, there are a few other shops in the state I'd prefer. This one was a little on the sad side. Not crisp at all. They barely heat it up for you. They should be firing them back up in the oven to get them piping hot so the cheese remelts and it gets some nice color on the undercarriage. It's not a fantastic atmosphere, not very roomy. It's an unorganized system to order slices and then pay. They have some kinks to work out on the process of ordering and paying. That said, it's a tight space and maybe they're doing what they can. I'd absolutely come back for Sicilian and detroit. Slices ranged from $4-5.50. Got full for like $13 so can't complain. Solid job Pizza Mamma.

Kind service. I loves these recommended Detroit slices of buffalo chicken and hot honey cup pepperoni! I would come back again.

While out and about in the Providence area, I decided to check out a local favorite pizza spot called Pizza Mamma. Being from the greater Metro Detroit area, I have a high standard and a love for the Detroit style pizza that has been ingrained since childhood. Pizza Mama delivered a solid and tasty effort, but not without some issues. The Pizza was supposed to come with extra pepperoni, and while topping amount is subjective, this didn't really seem to have it. The amount is pretty standard for what you would get anywhere just ordering one topping. Also, the cheese used was minimal. If you've had good Detroit style, I would estimate their pizza to be about 1/2 the cheese you'd normally have on this style of pie. In the future I'd order extra cheese here, but then the diner is incurring additional costs on an already novelty priced pizza. Those criticisms aside, it was a tasty pizza that didn't entirely disappoint. It just didn't quite hit that top notch Detroit pizza experience either, and there's a lot better out there. I will say though, they do have some delicious homemade cookies.

This place is still "new," and the sign is pretty, so I decided to give it a shot. First observation was that I like that they have indoor and outdoor seating. They have their pizza on display and sell by the slice or whole pies as well. They have New York, Sicilian, and Detroit style pizza and once you order, they do heat it up. I ordered a slice of Detroit style pepperoni and honey as well as detriot style chicken and ranch. My friend and I were going to try both and share so they were nice to cut it in half for them. I did not realize the pepperoni had a drizzle of honey so it was a sweet surprise (pun intended). The flavor was good but it was a tiny bit overly crunchy. I wish the ricotta flavor stood out more. Same with the chicken and ranch one. I would be open to trying a different style since it was tasty and they have a good selection of toppings.

Been here 4 times and the Pizza here is great! Pizza is nice and crunchy. They have a ton of creative options. I feel like they need a few more vegetarian options but no real complaints. One thing I would do less is adding bacon to everything. The server told my partner about a slice but didn't mention bacon and when we got home he couldn't eat it. The space itself is small but pretty well designed.

My first visit I absolutely loved my pizza. This time around it was just ok. I had their Sicilian by the slice on my first visit and heated it at home and thought it was delicious. This time I tried a Detroit and traditional slice. Neither of which really blue me away. I had them heat at the store and admittedly waited a bit longer than I should have to enjoy but neither piece tasted as fresh as my first visit. The flavor on the Detroit style was good but the traditional style which I got with spinach tomato and feta was a bit bland. The feta itself was hard and the slice was super flimsy making it hard to eat. Overall it was ok and I would be curious to try ordering a whole pie, but I can't say I'll be running back for a slice in the near future.

The best pizza I've ever had. Full stop. Pizza Mama's Detroit-style Hot Honey Pepperoni Ricotta pizza is on another level. The crust is thick, crispy-edged perfection. The pepperoni curls just right, the ricotta is creamy and rich, and that drizzle of hot honey? Game changer. Every bite hits that sweet-savory-spicy balance like it was designed by a pizza genius. I've eaten a lot of pizza in a lot of places, and nothing compares. This is the kind of slice you think about days later and immediately start planning your next visit. If you know, you know. And if you don't--go fix that.

Be warned, it's on the more expensive side for dining and may be a coin toss for "is it worth it" for those that enjoy a night out but also looking for value. Food was a mixed bag for us.... Starting with the smashburger was genuinely disappointing as the burger itself was dry and advertised as a "French onion" smashburger that failed to deliver any of the rich, savory flavor we expected with a name like "French onion smashburger". The hot honey Mac and cheese was very good and flavorful... The hot being more of a vinegary heat than I expected but the cream sauce was rich. Speaking of value earlier.... Smashburger was $20 and the Mac and cheese was $28. Entrees were $10-15 more it seemed but previous reviews all spoke highly of the entrees and would want to try them if we visit again. The overall service experience was disappointing for us. Not for the demeanor of the staff but everything else... We had a decent size group of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) and was fortunate to have a dining room to help the kids burn some energy while not bothering the other diners. However, from ordering to entrees to arrive was 45 very hungry minutes. It also took 20+ mins just to get drinks. Once the food arrived, they also were short two of the kids meals which was thankfully corrected quick. We then were somewhat "gently" being asked to wrap things up by 3 staff members in 10 mins making the rounds to clear plates and any to go containers. We all understand the business in the food industry and turning tables, and trust me, after an hour from arriving to food on the table we wanted to get home for bed time. However, really sours the experience and would not advocate going here with large groups.... Between the kitchen and staff I can't say you'd have a guaranteed good time.
