Seems like they took over a location that just couldn't cut it, though Papa John's is still doing fine elsewhere, so who knows. I've seen them in Laguna Hills and Huntington Beach, which are areas where people tend to spend more on quality, so that was promising. I've also done some DoorDash deliveries for them but never actually tried their food until now. Pricing Gimmicks & Ordering Experience Let's talk about the pricing trend that's been creeping in at pizza spots. You see a menu price--let's say $9.99--and think, Sweet, solid deal! But then you click, and turns out, that's for a small pizza. Want a large, which most people do? Boom--$30+. It's the same bait-and-switch Chick-fil-A does when they charge extra for basic toppings. Not a fan of the trick, but whatever--it's the game now. That said, we went with a large pizza (yes, shelled out for it) and grabbed a couple of varieties: BBQ Pizza - Here's where things got weird. Expected the usual sweet BBQ sauce situation, but they snuck in Frank's RedHot as a topping. Not what I was expecting. Some people at the table loved it, but others (especially those not into vinegar-heavy sauces) weren't into the surprise. Lesson learned--read the ingredients carefully. Pineapple Pizza - Absolutely nailed it. Nothing weird here, just solid ingredients, generous portions, and great flavor. Final Thoughts Portions were good, but not massive--a few people in our party could've eaten more, so next time, we might have to level up to the $40-$50+ range for a bigger order. Last night I placed an online order for pickup for a Large Stuff crust Hawaiian Luau pizza. Which comes with canadian bacon, hickory bacon, pineapple, and extra mozzarella cheese. Ten minutes later I received a text that my order was ready. I was pleasantly surprised by my pizza. There was ample toppings and it tasted great. Their pizza is always good and ready quickly when you come to pick it up, often it's ready by the time you've gotten there and you don't have to wait. There's an array of specialty pizzas that all looked good, but it's rare to find a beef taco on a pizza, so of course we must try it. And of course the classic cheese pizza for the kiddo. Crust is a little thinner than I prefer, but good. Beef taco pizza totally delish! Jalapeños were a bit on the spicy side, so it would have been nice for a light drizzle of sour cream. He likes a thicker crust so after reading reviews, and looking at pictures, he got a thick crust with pepperoni, sausage, pineapple, and jalapeño. I got a gluten free chicken taco pizza. He REALLY liked his pizza. He said the sauce, cheese and other toppings we all in good ratio with each other and the crust was really good. As for mine, good gluten free crust can be hard to find, and this one is definitely a winner! It was cooked perfectly and had good texture. Overall, the chicken taco pizza was really good! I loved the limes and tiny bottle of chalula on the side. We will definitely eat here again! I would have never known about this place but I drive Lyft occasionally on the side and dropped off one of the girls that works at the front. She highly recommended the stuffed crust pizza despite my warnings of being a pizza snob. My son and I LOVE stuffed crust pizza. It's hard to find a pizza spot that A) has stuffed crust pizza B) has a good stuffed crust pizza and C) doesn't sacrifice half the pizza to make it happen. This place nailed it. My absolute new favorite pizza, I've had it 3 weeks in a row since discovering this gem. I've lived pretty much across the street for 3 years and hadn't noticed it as it is tucked behind Del Taco, but now that I know it's there I've definitely become a regular. My kids also have had this pizza at school and were so excited I finally figured out what it was. The serrano chili pizza is amazing! Food is always hot, fresh, and made very quickly. SO DELICIOUS. you might be dissuaded by the price, but i guarantee you are paying for love and quality. they are extremely generous with topping and all the ingredients are fresh! all the workers are very nice and the service is amazing. be sure to come in for extra specialties. and don't be afraid to talk to the owners. they are a family and treat their staff like family, constantly making extra pizzas for them and bringing outside food and drinks for them for free.
