Apparently it's under new management, and the new owners came over to introduce themselves. Our office loves this pizza place! We have been here several times: the staff is friendly, they don't time you or rush you! Attentive to see what you need. I don't think they play music, and if they do, it's not loud nor annoying...because we have been able to talk without shouting while eating. I used to call and placed the orders over the phone (that's how long we have been customers) they were always friendly! We now place the orders online, and are always on time, and right!! I don't like writing reviews like this, but for those considering this place I urge you to look elsewhere. I suggest stadium pepz, Burattinos Brick oven pizza, or even Round table. For the money you would pay for this place, you might as well get actual good quality food at these other establishments. Me and others in my party got food poisoning from their pizza and pasta and had a horrible night after eating their food. Whats worse than that is we called the location to ask for a refund after the horrible experience we had. The nice manager at the location obliged originally and apologized for the experience, but then we got a call from their "corporate" the next day. Their Zitos "corporate" is a complete joke. It felt like as if they were operating out of someone's basement. They were very unprofessional with us and we could hear them laughing in the background and then they rescinded the refund they promised. I find it to be a red flag if they can't issue a small refund for a problem they themselves caused. Also given that impression I find it concerning that the zitos corporate basement is really struggling. What does that say about the quality of the ingredients then? I've personally never heard of this place neither did I care about it until I was recommended this place, wish I never was. Zito's Pizza has 4 locations in Orange County, and I've been going to them for over 10 years. The pizza is good although a little pricier. Comes out fresh and fast. My favorite thing to get here are the GARLIC KNOTS. They have a regular and large size, and both are enough to fill you up... although I love them so much I get the large. It fills up a whole to go box and tastes AMAZING! Mmm... that garlic butter and Parmesan cheese, dipped in marinara sauce. Yum! Customer service is always good and the place is full of good vibes. We stopped by at this Zito's for the first time after a movie, and it did not disappoint! The staff is very friendly and answered questions we had about the menu clearly and nicely. The restaurant gives family friendly and even has a small arcade for kids to play. We ordered a pepperoni pizza half with jalapeños and a bbq chicken salad. Both were delicious the pizza was nice and crispy, saucy and had lots of toppings. The salad had lots of toppings as well and went good with their Italian dressing. They didn't have a cheese topping for the salad, but they briefly informed us and made it right. They ended up gifting us some of their cinnamon knots which we thoroughly enjoyed. I stopped by Zito's Pizza in Old Town Orange expecting a solid deli sandwich. What I got instead was an $18 lesson in disappointment. I ordered the California Turkey on sourdough for $15. What arrived was not a sourdough roll or hoagie -- it was two flat slices of hard sourdough bread that honestly tasted stale. The sandwich didn't even include cheese, so I added one slice of provolone for an additional $2. That single slice didn't even cover the bread. Neither did the turkey or toppings. The result? A dry, uneven sandwich where every bite felt like chewing through crust and air. No moisture, no balance, no value. For $17 before tax, I expect more than deli-counter quality slapped between oversized bread. Total after tax: $18.31 for a dry turkey sandwich that felt like it was assembled with the bare minimum effort. Old Town Orange has plenty of sandwich options. I hadn't been to Zito's in about five years, and after today's visit... I kind of remembered why. I walked in, checked out the menu, and the Provolone Cheese Pizza caught my eye. What made it stand out was the ranch dressing twist, which sounded different enough to try. It was $14, so I figured I'd be getting a decently sized pizza for that price, especially compared to other places I've hit recently. I also ordered the wings with chili sauce, which came out to $16. According to the menu, that's supposed to be about a pound of chicken. Surprisingly, the food came out in under 15 minutes, which was nice. But when I saw the size of the pizza... I honestly laughed a little. It was probably around 6 inches in diameter. For $14, I expected way more, I think I could've bought a single slice somewhere else and gotten more food. Now, the wings came in a good quantity, but they were just drowning in chili sauce. Like, I didn't order wings with a side of sauce, I got an order of chili sauce soup with wings tossed in. The photos say it all. Flavor-wise? The pizza was alright, just super small. The wings tasted decent too, but the amount of sauce completely overwhelmed them. All in all, not the worst food, but not something I'll be craving again. There are way too many other pizza spots in the area (and LA) to check out so I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon. read more

We have tried handling this in a much calmer manner, but, Chris over at Corporate refuses to acknowledge anything, so I am left with no option but to leave this review. On Jan 31st I was prepping for a half marathon. I didn't eat the whole day and waited to eat a carb heavy dinner, from a restaurant I had previously been to and loved (Zitos). Myself, my sister and her fiance do not live together but we all ate together that evening. Within an hour of eating, we all began to feel extremely sick. Within hours, all the food poisoning symptoms had kicked in. I got it the worst out of the three of us, but all 3 of us were feeling either nauseous, had to use the restroom frequently or both. I had been going to the restroom so frequently and became so dehydrated within hours, that I couldn't go and was in more pain. To say my half marathon was ruined would be an understatement. Trying to run with what I was feeling, was uncomfortable to say the least. I kept trying to drink water and stay hydrated but by mile 10 (out of 13) I could no longer keep down fluids. When I got to the end, I tried drinking water and Powerade and was not able to keep it down. After using the restroom, I became extremely pale and began to pass out but was caught and security was called and I was taken to the medic tent immediately via wheelchair. This medic tent was fully staffed by Drs and nurses from a local hospital. During the initial exam I told them when I ate, when I started feeling sick and they immediately said food poisoning (because I was not able to keep fluids down or in), was what I was possibly dealing with. They ended up having to hook me up to IV fluids. Again- the final conclusion and diagnosis from Drs was food poisoning. On Feb 1st we were promised a refund by assistant manager Johnathon. On Feb 2nd, Maria from corporate called me and was offered a free meal at another location. I told her no and I'd like the refund we were promised. She said she couldn't so she'd call corporate and follow up with me. That never happened, so my sister called yesterday to follow up. Maria said that I had never mentioned the refund and she'd call corporate. My sister asked to be connected because that's exactly what I was told the week before and knew that I had in fact, mentioned the refund. Chris from corporate, got on the phone and had a very condescending and aggressive tone. He then asked why I hadn't called if I had gotten sick and I quickly hopped in and explained how I was extremely sick the day she called and we were told we were getting a refund and call back, so why would I be calling? He then began questioning the medical professionals that helped treat me. I told him from a business standpoint, promising a refund and not honoring it isn't ethical and he said he disagreed. He had no problem telling me that choosing not to eat was the wrong choice because he has also run many marathons and he knows what's right from wrong (news flash: not every body is the same and people can prep for a marathon, half marathon, 5k or whatever they're prepping for, however they want! There is no right or wrong). He also said food poisoning takes 4 hours or more (Per the CDC and John Hopkins Univ: cases with particular bacteria, symptoms can start within 30 minutes). He insisted a refund was not happening and we can get a gift card. We went back and fourth for a few minutes and when he started to become more aggressive, I told him that I was recording that call for both parties and he said he don't give permission to be recorded and hung up. When my sister called back, she got out of the car to speak to him separately without me. In that, he refused to speak to her and the woman she spoke with (Julia) laughed as well and wouldn't let my sister speak and hung up on her as well. The lack of professionalism on the corporate level is genuinely concerning. All we wanted was our $70 back since the food wasn't finished and we all got sick. We weren't asking for anything else and it was promised and then refused. I will never trust or eat at a Zitos, again. read more

The employees that helped us were several young adults who were helpful, kind, and kept the place running responsibly. The pizza was really good, I liked the sauce, a little less sweet than the one on Tustin blvd. The crust on the pizza was excellent. The wings were good also, I like the sauce and used my pizza crust to scoop some of the buffalo sauce. No celery like the other zito's. The garlic knots are equally as good as the other location. I do have one complaint and it was from all three of us.... The soda machine needs to be well maintained and the ratio of the Syrup and carbonation was horrible. This location came through during a tough time. So impressed with the whole staff. My grandma loved Zittos pizza so we decided to do a big order for after her service. I inquired online and got a call later that afternoon. What was so great was I needed to pick up the order at 11am and they said no problem. My cousin went to pick up the food and said everyone was so nice and had everything ready. When you are going through a tough time service like this really helps the process. Instead of owning up to it they lied and said the pizza was burnt and that we had to wait another 20 minutes or get a refund.
