The worst delivery experience I have had in 23 years of living in DC. I ordered a pizza at 2am, and was promised a 45 minute (max) delivery. After several unanswered calls, we gave up and made some other food. Finally, the pizza arrived at 4:15. The standard practice with late delivery is a free pizza; I was more than willing to pay a tip, as I understand these things are often beyond the power of those delivering, but after 2 and a quarter hours, was not willing to pay for the pizza. Despite its extraordinarily late delivery time, there was not even a discount on the price of our pizza. Tasty or not (I'll never know), I will never order from Pizza D'Oro again. read more

We had seen a show downtown and wanted some food afterwards. It was late and this was one of few places that were still open and delivering after 11pm on a Sunday. The delivery was quick & the food was delicious! We got a white pizza with spinach and ricotta and wings - both were great. Would definitely order again and recommend to others! read more

Don't let the name fool you because they have a lot more than just pizza. Their sandwiches are the bomb and definitely try the roasted chicken platter plus they are open until the wee hours of the morning. read more

my boyfriend and I got a personal pizza (10"). the price was reasonable and the pizza tasted pretty darn good. we liked both the sauce and the crust and the guy at the counter was incredibly nice. we are happy to see some new spots popping up in our neighborhood and would really like to see this place do well. read more

Ok, first let me just say that I was really hungry and really looking forward to lunch. I ordered delivery. The food arrived pretty quickly -- and everything went down hill from there. First, the french fries. They were sticky and chewy. I didn't know french fries could be sticky and chewy -- and tasteless. The half chicken was dry. And burnt, maybe? I really couldn't tell. Did this chicken die of loneliness? Not good. I don't want to be completely negative, so I'll add that the carrot cake and can of diet coke were perfectly fine. (I know, that's a lot of food. This place was crap, we ordered a medium pizza and garlic bread with cheese, and we didn't even finish this small order, the cheese is solid and smelled a little old, and I couldn't even recognize the italian sausage. oh and the green peppers where so smalls that we thought it was an herb until we picked it off. read more

Very disappointed by the food delivered by Pizza D'Oro last night. We order boneless chicken wings which were not real chicken but processed meat. The meat lovers pizza which was a thin crust, oily mess, with ground sausage that tasted very odd - we were glad to pick the pepperoni off which was the only good part about this meal. We also ordered the Oreo cheesecake which was a boxed product that was broken when it was opened sending crumbs all over the floor. In addition no plates or utensils were delivered to our hotel room so we had to eat everything with our hands. Never again!!! read more

Love their pizza. Very few pizza places actually live up to my satisfaction. However, I do not order here as much due to the prices. I've ordered a medium pizza here twice and just for a too small medium sized pizza I always end up paying about 20 bucks. So I'll just stay hungry. I am not a huge fan of pizza but ordered from them, since they delivered to the hotel I was staying in. I decided to try the half roasted chicken thinking it might be eatable, Man was I pleasantly surprised when it was delicious! It was seasoned wonderfully and extremely moist. I had to call back because I forgot to keep one of the receipts for expense reporting. I called and they printed me another one and even offered to bring it to me! Worst. pizza. ever. I ordered pepperoni lovers and it was disgusting. I've learned with this, that there is such a thing as too much pepperoni -- this one had several layers. The pizza was literally sitting in a puddle of grease and it was so greasy that it seeped through the box and was dripping. I've been to this place a few times after going out around the area. It's definitely good for drunk eats. The owners, whom i assume are husband and wife, are so friendly and sweet. So, if you want average food and are willing to take whatever they happen to feel like sending you, rather than what you actually ordered, go for it! Just remember, they won't make it right. Then, when I finally ordered the pizza the delivery was extremely late. I ordered the pizza and they promised it would be there in 45 minutes, max. After an hour without hearing from Pizza D'oro, I called them. Nobody answered the phone. I tried another few times, waited an hour and a half, and then gave up and made some food myself. After finishing dinner, a full 2 hours and 15 minutes after placing my original order, the delivery man came. This was the first I'd heard from Pizza D'Oro since I placed my order 2 and 1/4 hours earlier. I refused to pay for the pizza. I offered to tip the delivery man if Pizza D'oro would comp the pizza. While I really wanted what, at the time, I hoped would be the pizza of my dreams, I will never experience this unique combination of toppings. I will never order from Pizza D'oro again, since there are many reputable pizza places in DC that comp pizzas when the delivery is late. Actually, next time I'll just order Chinese food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have had a horrible experience with this company this weekend and the customer service from the manager was terrible. I went to pick up my buffalo chicken pizza and everything was fine at first. BUT as soon as I bite into the pizza it tasted like a NASTY BEEF TACO with huge onions inside and the sauce was terrible. This was my second time going there. The first time was pretty good so I decided to give it another shot, bad idea. I called the company because number 1 I am allergic to onions and they never indicated that onions were on the pizza and number 2 it was just plain NASTY. Instead of a BUFFALO CHICKEN pizza I received a pizza that cost 20$ that tasted like a BEEF TACO. I was already home with a baby at 11p.m. at night and they told me to bring the pizza back. Really!! What a big inconvenience!!! The manager did not handle the matter with appropriately and I wasted $20 . I would not recommend so find somewhere else. read more
