Pita Pit for lunch today. Was downtown for some appointments and it was close so it was an easy lunch decision. I have frequented this joint quite a few times but I wanted to do something different today. My go to is the falafel but I did check their menu board and the Athens chicken sounded like a winner. My husband ordered the Dagwood. They were working on a huge order so it did take a minute for them to get to my order. I did try to get a soda but their soda machine was completely down. The gal was kind and replaced my fountain soda with a bottle soda. I had to modify my husband's pita. I just added peppercinis to mine. Everything listed in my Greek grilled cheese sounded tasty. I honestly thought it was ordering the pita version of the Athens chicken but it turned out to be in quesadilla form. It was perfect amount for me. I would have liked it in pita form cause you can get more veggies shoved into the pita. This is only half the pita. It was loaded with cheese and chicken. I also had olives, spinach and tomatoes in it. The cheese was crusty and burnt on the edges. It had a great cheese pull. It was good! My husband did enjoy his Dagwood pita until he found pieces of onion and olives in it. He's not fond of the two so he stopped eating it half way through. Pita pit is a quick and easy lunch. I like that they are by the university. We have stopped here before concerts to get a fast dinner. I'm always down for an easy meal from Pita Pit. read more

I was refused service because I have a service animal. I ordered a custom Buffalo chicken pita with a drink, but instead was given a Buffalo chicken pita with the toppings of their choice. Or "how it comes". I told the guy it was supposed to be custom but the poor kid seemed so stressed out with the rush i decided to just take it and not ask for a remake. Went to take a drink of my soda and it was so flat! Truly tasted like water with sprite flavoring. Just awful. I came back a few weeks later with a coworker and sure enough had another bad experience. Order was incorrect and one was missing sauces. Overly prices for such shitty quality of food. haven't had pita pit since college in california and when I saw it I got kind of excited and nostalgic because it was always my favorite and they were huge and so filling for a pretty good price. this is not the experience I had. now they have two sizes- "smaller" and "bigger". for $6 w/ tax or $8 w/ tax. which is a lot for just a pita in my opinion. no chips or drinks included in that price. the minute you walk in they start berating you with questions on sizes and drinks and kinds and like bro calm down I need to look at the menu for a second. it was irritating AF. let people think for a beat before you start bugging them so much. I got the falafel, because back in the day I was a vegetarian and that's what I always got. they used to be these giant fried things stuffed in there with all the toppings! she went to put the falafel in mine and it was just a bunch of crumbles?? wtf?? that's not falafel, that's garbanzo bean crumbles. how very disappointing. when I asked the girl putting my pita together about anything at all regarding toppings she really could care less. she did not want to talk to me whatsoever. she said okay what do you want in it? it's overwhelming, okay let me look. let me ask questions. i'm not trying to annoy you. she does this every day- I do not. the whole time she just wanted me away. excuse me, sorry for taking up your precious time. so when they handed me the sad little pita filled with crumbles I paid $6.50 for, I have to say I was kind of mad. I was rushed and overwhelmed and now I have this food that isn't even enough to fill up a child in my hand. what a weird way to send someone off. it tasted okay enough, but i was still hungry. I ordered the falafel salad with 2x falafel (I love it that much) with the secret sauce on the side. I ordered it online, popped out of work, picked up my order, and went back to work. Dug into my salad and it was SOOOOO salty I could not eat it. I tried eating it and I just couldn't. I have been eating this same meal for years and have never had a bad one, until now, I won't be back to this location any time soon. I did call the store and the young guy on the phone told me it was the dressing spices and I could try a different one. I only wanted to let them know how bad it was to save the next falafel lover. This place is literally so awful. I got the SUB with turkey, bacon, provolone and some other veggies, and it was basically grease rolled up in pita bread. I felt very sick after and thought I was going to throw up. The workers were also very rude. My girl friend got the sandwich with falafel in it, and was only able to take 3 bites before she threw it away. She said how none of the flavors in the sandwich went together. This place claims to be healthy, but frying lunch meats with endless grease on it isn't healthy. I am not going back. read more

I'm a big fan in that I'm bored of all the Aramark food at Boise State and work there and their new online ordering app is really convenient. That said, I've found that quality control is a little lacking, I order salads instead of pitas and the veggies seem to have sat for a while, translucent tomatoes are a particular weakness. I paid 17 dollars for a simple salad, a diet coke and a bag of chips. Seems like a bit of a financial reach. But my biggest issue is that three out of the last three times I've ordered I've asked for avocado. I got nothing the first time or second time and then the third time, because in the special instructions I said "please don't forget the avocado" I got TWO dice sized pieces of avocado almost like some sort of passive aggressive message from the people that I am simply ordering food from. I never called to ask for a refund for the avo I never got and still have ordered every day. Make sure you get what you pay for, but otherwise, super happy that they have delivery. read more

I don't eat meat, so I can't speak to that, but they have a variety of veggie options including falafel, cheese, hummus, or avocado. The prices are in the $5 range, and you can often find a coupon online. They offer pita sandwiches, salads, and breakfast pitas. On the side you can get usual chips, fountain and bottled drinks, and cookies. Whenever I'd had delivery, they've packaged things well with no spills, all the condiments and cutlery I need. Pita Pit is cheap, consistently tasty, and has an online ordering system that makes my life a lot easier. I always order the falafel for around $5. It is cheap, filling, and gets me through the day. I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap tonight off Uber eats and had specified no cheese due to allergy reasons and grilled onions instead of regular onions. My fiancé and I were just In there 8/22/19 @ midnight and I would like to commend the young man working who seemed to be a little newer but kept his composure in spite of there being a little rush including a group order , door dash, and several other guests. The other gentleman working however is the reason I even decided to write the review. Not only was he sarcastic and abrasive to guests, but Also demeaning and aggressive towards the young man and as a local GM of another restaurant it was disheartening and frankly frustrating to watch. We have all been in the weeds and that's the time for teamwork and positivity. Several other guests made remarks about the experience as well. To the younger employee, kudos to remaining focused on the guest experience and doing your best, my fiancé and I were both impressed. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place is terrible. Every single experience I've had there was awful. I'm a nice person, I like giving people the benefit of the doubt. I like the food (when it's actually made well) so I keep coming back for some reason, giving them third and fourth and fifth chances to redeem themselves. I'm never mean in the store and always try to believe that they will be better the next time. It's closest to my house so it's my preferred location. But WOW. The people working here are SO rude. No matter when I have gone in. Anytime, everyone in here has the worst manners, facial expressions, and customer service skills of any food joint in Boise. I understand everyone has a bad day every once in awhile, I'm forgiving and keep giving them the benefit of the doubt. But seriously, every time I've gone in this has happened. Now, I could handle them being jerks every time, if they could comprehend how to make a sandwich. But not only do they not know how to smile or even seem approachable, they can't even handle the simple task of making some food. Seriously. Just let me go back there and make my own, I'll even let them take the credit for it. They are the worst. I get something very simple and yet every time they make it terribly. They either give me a whole half of an avocado (which is great) or they give me as much as a regular sized lemon slice (which is not so great, especially when I ask for more considering I paid over a buck for it, and they complain that I'll have to pay another dollar for more.) Not only that, but they shove the avocado in first, into the tiny corner area of the pita. So I have no avocado for 95% of my sandwich, and then just an entire mouth full of only avocado on the last bite. These people are such idiots. I would go home, open it up, and remake it myself, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of going somewhere to buy food? That's literally their entire job, and they SUCK at it. As soon as they start making my sandwich, they rip off the top part of the pita pocket "on accident" and just keep loading up food in this broken pita. I get 4 simple ingredients in my sandwich, that's it. And yet when I ask for more lettuce, they give me the rudest looks and put in just a few more pieces. By now I'm just peeved, wishing I could walk out and leave, but I've already paid so I have to stick it out. So then they go to wrap up my broken, awfully made pita sandwich, and everything falls apart. It's ridiculous. I love the food, but being a college student and paying 9 bucks for one small pita sandwich for lunch is already a huge stretch. I could justify it if the people were nice and the food was well made. But I've given this place enough chances. Everyone I know now knows about how awful they are (in more then one way). This place could be good, but those workers are going to ruin it. I'd give it negative 3 stars if I could, but unfortunately can't post unless I give them 1 positive star. Just know, that's incorrect. Edit: It gets worse. I just went to eat my mess of a sandwich (only because I didn't feel like wasting 9 bucks) and found that the avocado wasn't ripe and the chicken either wasn't cooked all the way through, or they just cooked a big chunck of fat. Horrible customer service. I've been waiting 6 months to come back to town and get pita pit. Were not even greeted, we were the only customers in line, there were three employees working on orders and didn't even look up or make eye contact, we waited 5 minutes before even being told, 'sorry I got orders coming out my ears.' We still waited, until more customers came in and there were 4 others in line behind us, none of them were greeted either. So we left without food. This Pita Pit location is AMAZING!!!! This location is within walking distance of my office and I love it. The other day, a representative of Pita Pit visited our office with FREE SAMPLES of a southwest steak pita!!!!! It tasted amazing! right after the sample, my mind was racing with how do I get more of this pita?!?!?!?! Besides the sample, I've eaten pitas from this location on multiple occasions and have never had an issue. I'm looking forward to the next pita from here to say the least! read more

My first time going to Pita Pit it was late at night. Probably 20 mins before closing time. My friend and I got there and we started to order. The dude looked pissed. Probably because we came so late. I order a steak pita with some toppings. When they were cooking it, it looked good. I get my pita and right as I pick it up it breaks open and I'm forced to eat it like a taco salad. So disappointing. Look, I get it. You were closing soon, but had to open shop back up for 2 customers. The fact of the matter is the store was still open for business. Since then, I've been back a couple times and my pita broke one time and stayed intact the other. Some of the employees don't look presentable, and the ordering process felt like a military roll call. There's one guy that works there still, I assume, that treats this chain restaurant as if it were a super popular, dive restaurant where he can stand at the register, take your money and yell out your order like it was my pleasure being there. The food is good for a chain restaurant. If you're looking for something other than a burger, a pita sandwich sounds refreshing. They have lots of toppings and condiments as well. The idea of having a fast food pita lunch is appealing. But the execution has to be there. If I want a taco salad, I'll go to Baja Fresh. But I want a wrapped pita that won't break as soon as I pick it up.
