Two stars. I pull up, and the window slams in my face while they chatter away in Spanish. This place is a pit of incompetence. You order with words, they hand you something else entirely, like speaking into the void. Upon the arrival I was greeted with nothing but animosity and hostility. After saying that they're busy and it'll take 5-10 minutes (with no one else in the queue or in front of the restaurant), I said I have an order through an app, through which they said come inside. As somebody with a disability, knowing I can not walk into a restaurant, I picked drive through. Sometimes, you just crave a deep-fried taco. I had my first at age 4 at a Jack's in Huntington Beach, Calif. That outlet is still there, although years ago they got rid of the clown's head at the order speaker. Jack's doesn't deliver anything outstanding, but they're consistent. Ok.... Just a quick shout out to whoever is working the state street location on 6/3/23 at 1:50am..... I have had the worst day I have had in the past 28 years today.... I got off work at 1:30am and convinced myself to order your tacos because they are my favorite but only when I have extra taco sauce. It took a lot of convincing because like us all, "I have food at home" but I thought hey, you had a rough day, you earned it. Not only did it only take like 15 minutes for my ubereats driver to get to jack in the box, and then to my house, BUT, the actual angel that put my order together threw a few extra taco sauces in there........ Definitely brings us back and we've made the choice to go here, and not across the street to that "other" fast food place just because we love the people! They were under cooked, they must have been under a heat lamp for a very long time, since they seemed dried out and tasteless. Never one to complain but I was very frustrated tonight when I sat in line for 10 minutes without moving. I would have left sooner but I was blocked in by another car. There were only 4 cars in line and nothing ahead of that. By the time I got to the window, they informed me they were only doing online orders. Every time I come here it gets worse & worse, and every time I come here they have a brand new lie to tell me as to why they can't get my order right. It's genuinely pathetic. Apparently tonight they were short-staffed, as I was told by the older crack-head looking fellow that took my order several times. That's fine and don't usually mind waiting. At first my order was $4.42. Then it took about 20 minutes to get to the window. Please keep in mind it's 2am. The older crack-head looking fellow decided to "change things up on me" and let me know my order is double the price he originally stated because apparently he can't do his job correctly. I was really confused so he went on a tangent about how he "just got here", and "just woke up an hour ago" so as to save his ass for his mistake. I've worked in the fast food business for a long time now so I kindly sympathized with him for being short-staffed and having to be called in. I was very kind to this man the entire time, and am never one to treat anyone less than. I received my food and noticed an item did not come on the sandwich I ordered. It was a Jack's Spicy chicken sandwich, which clearly shows cheese in the burger on the menu. Every time I've ordered this I've been asked if I want cheese or not. Tonight I was not asked, which I hadn't noticed until seeing no cheese. So I go back to the drive-thru to get sauce I forgot to ask for, not to have them re-make my sandwich. I tell the older man I need sauce, and he tells me to pull to the window and proceeds to take 5 minutes to get to me (just to hand me sauce!). Out of curiosity as to what he would say, I decided to ask him if the sandwich is supposed to come with cheese, and he says that it's not supposed to unless I specifically ask for it- which isn't true. I told him that I've always been asked at this location as well as others, and he says "well, I just got here"- even though he was the one that took my order in the first place, even though it's obviously not his first day, and even though he had repeated this to me about 20,000 ones previously upon the first time I was in the drive-thru. I told him that was not a valid excuse to his mistakes and he decided to be incredibly rude about it. If I were him, I would've offered the customer the original price I'd mistakenly rang them up for in the beginning and would offer to re-make the sandwich. This location used to be my absolute favorite, but now it seems all they care about is getting customers out of here as quickly as possible so they can get back to vaping and smoking cigarettes in the front of the restaurant. read more

Yes yes, fast food, seen one seen them all. As much as I adored the location in my old neighborhood, I'm very pleased with our 'new' location on State street. It's a newer store, so the signage, landscaping and general condition are lovely. There is even a signal to help get back out on State Street, which we all know can be a trial. What brings me back (other than the food) is the friendliness of the staff. Jack in the Box cooks most of their food to order (I'm not always sure if the fries) so if you're in a huge rush you might choose another place. I love that they have the new beverage system that lets you mix and match flavors (we like to have a Cherry Sprite). The one time we had an issue with our order (I always check the bags before I leave the parking lot), the manager was quick to apologize, correct the issue and even give us a few coupons for later use. If you're a fan of egg rolls, be sure to try theirs.. yeah, I know. egg rolls from a burger place? Om nom nom! read more

I usually never write reviews or anything, but my boyfriend and I just had the worst experience here. We came here for a late night snack after celebrating New Years. When we got to the window, they stated they were out of napkins without an apology. Slightly annoying, but still alright. When we started eating, my boyfriend's tacos were cold and they were missing cheese. You could also tell the oil the fries were cooked in was dirty from the black burnt oil specs. We pulled back around to ask for a remake of the tacos, and the worker (who I believe was named Shane) stated they were out of cheese and shut the window on us without any sort of apology. My boyfriend knocked on the window and he came back rolling his eyes. It really got bad when my boyfriend politely asked for the manager's name so he could come back and request a refund. The employee started to argue with my boyfriend, saying he shouldn't get a refund and refusing to give him the managers name! He finally told us her name, but by this time the other employee was recording us as if we had done something wrong. This whole time, the employee continued to mock us and insult us. Long story short, the employee told us he "didn't give a sh*t" about his job and was only there because they hadn't fired him yet. He also stated he didn't care about our food or service because it was New Years. In the end, he threatened to call the cops on us, basically for wanting what we paid for. My boyfriend and I have both worked in the service industry for years, and we were both in shock and appalled at what we witnessed. The way this employee treated us wasn't simply bad service, it lacked basic human decency and respect. I usually never speak of businesses this way because I know customer service can be hard and I definitely know this isn't a high end place, but I have never felt so uncomfortable (even unsafe) as a customer. If this is the way they treat customers to their face, I dread to think what they do to the food. DO NOT EAT HERE! read more
