Today, our friend brought us to Garden City to walk along the river, and then over to Uncle Guiseppe's for lunch. It is a small, seemingly authentic New York deli that serves a great number of different sandwiches, along with specialty drinks, like sodas, sparkling water, and lemonade. They also well things like pastries and, of interest to us, jarred roasted tomatoes. My wife had the #9 Monte Cristo, and I had the #3 Bonanza. Delicious. I also had a Manhattan Special Black Cherry soda, also super yummy. My mistake, not realizing what I was doing, was to order "whole" vs "half" sandwiches. The whole are footlong. I ate the entire sandwich, holy moly! My wife brought half home. Next time I would probably order a half. The owner, who I will call Guiseppe, had the heavy East Coast accent, and checked on all of his customers, making sure they were happy and satisfied. This place is a little gem. We're already talking about our next visit to Garden City to walk and have lunch at Uncle Guiseppe's!

I read somewhere that this place was voted Idaho's best sandwich, so I made sure to give it a try before leaving town. The menu was surprisingly small, as is the inside. I asked the employee which sandwich was the most popular, and he pointed me towards his favorite -- the Caribbean Pork. It was ready in about 5 minutes. The sandwich was simply delicious and I found myself savoring every bite. The demi baguette was crunchy and the sandwich components were warm. Highly recommend giving Don & Charly's a try!

The shop itself is tiny with a few tables. It was freezing cold in there, colder than outside which was about 60 degrees. The sandwiches though, they were great! I go the turkey bacon and loved the pickled onions on it. The bread was perfect. I also got the potato salad - very unique but equally as good. Lots of dill in it with smoked paprika on top. Others at my table loved their sandwiches as well. I'd give this place a 4.5 because of the things listed above.

It was topped with extra cheese and the salami was nicely placed on the bottom so it's easier to eat. No complaints today, just a happy guy with his yummy sub. I'm sure I will be back soon grabbing another sub from this joint. Again, it would have been a 5 start visit but customer service is unpredictable here. But we can say their subs are 5 stars.

Using Yelp, we found Matlack's Public House Beergarten and liked the look of their sandwiches. We arrived 15min before they opened and wandered around a bit before heading back. The hostess/waitress took us in and thanked us for coming back (she must have watched us try to get in earlier). We got to pick our table in the dining area. The interior is smaller but very clean and classy. The only thing I didn't like were the chairs as they were benches and stools with no back support. I ordered the Santa Maria Tri-tip sandwich and an iced tea. My son also got the same sandwich. Their sandwiches all come with Fritos unless you're looking to spend more for a salad, mac & cheese or chili. This was the best sandwich I've had in years! The baguette had a little crunch on the outside but soft on the inside. The tri-tip was hickory and apple smoked and was tender and delicious. The chimichurri was a perfect accompaniment, as were the roasted poblano peppers. I also enjoyed the Fritos as the side. We also received top-notch service from the waitress. You could tell this place puts a lot of love and effort into their food and service. Thanks Matlack's for a great meal before our next leg of our journey!

Good news, THEY DIDN'T! Pub-type atmosphere, lots of beer on tap. I can't remember which I ordered, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Mac n Cheese without the breadcrumbs and the hubs ordered it and added bacon. It was creamy and yummy. I ended out taking some of my back to the room. It reheated well, so made for an excellent midnight(ish) snack! The place wasn't too busy when we were there, the bartender was also our waiter. He was polite and helpful. The table/chairs were clean and people looked like locals (which is always comforting when you randomly pick a spot). There's indoor and outdoor seating. I didn't see a lot of parking. I hear it's a busy place on Friday and Saturday evenings. We were pleased with our restaurant choice that afternoon. Thank you for reading my review!
